BUUIC VISITS UNDP BUUIC STUDENTS ATTEND A LECTURE ON FINANCIAL DECISION-MAKING SKILLS FOR ENTREPRENEURS NOV 49 Monday 21 November 2022, Ajarn Jeremy Proces, Ajarn Waraporn Theerasak, Dr. Charlton Bruton & Dr. Monparath Charatwattananich took 40 BUUIC students from the BA programme to visit the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Bangkok. The UNDP is one of the many United Nations agencies in Bangkok and its work focuses on reducing inequalities and promoting global peace through the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) The SDGs are fully integrated into BUUIC’s vision and we strongly believe that our students are, first and foremost, citizens of the world. During the field trip, students had the opportunity to learn more about the work of the United Nations in Thailand, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how they will impact their future and the Thai society. Thank you to the UNDP team for hosting our students and giving them this wonderful opportunity. Hospitality, Tourism and MICE undergraduates, including foreign exchange students from Indonesia, Japan, and The Peoples’s Republic of China, recently attended a special guest lecture. This lecture was presented by Khun Kasidis Suwanampai, Chief Executive Officer of Siam Wealth Management Co., Ltd. The topic of the lecture was “Principle of Decision Making in Terms of Financial Operations for Entrepreneurs”. In addition, the speaker implemented acase-studyworkshop on making decisions as an entrepreneur. The lecture and workshop are part of the Student Development for Entrepreneurship course in the Hospitality and Tourism major.
PROFESSOR FROM THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SINGAPORE VISITS BUUIC BA STUDENTS VISITED BACC IN BANGKOK 50 On 25 November 2022, Assistant Professor Dr. Parinya Nakpathom, Dean of Burapha University International College, and his team welcomed Professor LEE Chee Keng from NUS College, National University of Singapore. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss academic collaboration and future research possibilities. We look forward to expanding our partnership with NUS, and we hope to implement cooperative activities soon. NOV On 25 November 2022, ID63 & ID64 BA students visited Bangkok Art and Culture Center (BACC). The students were accompanied by Ms. Waraporn Theerasak, a lecturer of the BA Program. This visit was organized as part of a course ‘Effective Presentation and Speech Communication’. The purposes were for the students to learn more about how the artworks were displayed and how the artists communicated to the audience. The knowledge and experience obtained from the visit, hopefully, will help the students become effective communicators.
HTM SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRIP WELCOME DELEGATES FROM UIN, INDONESIA NOV 51 Extra curricular activity for the senior year of Hospitality Tourism and MICE Management (HTM) and foreign students from Indonesia, Japan, and PR China to explore the secret of Rayong province, at Mesook Farm, touching happiness of nature among Agarwood (ancient name of Krishna) forest. Learning the Krishna-oud wood processed products, co-creation of agri-cultural based tourism for community benefit and social impact. Enjoy eating local foods by local people. It is partially in the course of Entrepreneurship for Tourism and Hospitality. Later, the students shall brainstorm and discuss development issues on the business idea for tourism sustainability and social change, then present to the founder of Mesook Farm by virtually as one of the outcomes on this real experience learning. On 30 November 2022, Assistant Professor Dr. Parinya Nakpathom, Dean of Burapha University International College, together with the management team, warmly welcomed the delegates from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, the Republic of Indonesia. The delegate team was led by Irma Nurbaeti, Vice Dean of Academic Affairs, Faculty of Health Sciences, and Dr. apt. Nurmeilis, Head of Pharmaceutical Science. During the visit, both parties discussed possible academic collaborations regarding academic services, a cultural exchange program, and an English camp.
SIGNING OF MOU BETWEEN BURAPHA UNIVERSITY INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE AND CEVA LOGISTICS (THAILAND) CO., LTD. CERTIFICATION CEREMONY & FAREWELL DINNER FOR EXCHANGE STUDENTS FROM TSM 52 focus on the cooperation in the field of logistics and supply chain management, principally through (1) Cooperate a goodwill on produce qualified graduates in the professional competency, according to the demand-driven; (2) Enhance cooperative work integrated education (CWIE) in between Burapha University and CEVA Logistics (Thailand) Co., Ltd.; and (3) Initiate the co-creation on researching and other academic project in between Burapha University and CEVA Logistics (Thailand) Co., Ltd. DEC On 13 December 2022, BUUIC organized a certification ceremony for a group of 16 exchange students who are from Trisakti School of Management (TSM), Indonesia. The certificates were offered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Parinya Nakpathom, Dean of BUUIC. The students also shared their impressions on how they loved living in Bangsaen and studying at BUUIC at the ceremony. After the ceremony was finished, BUUIC also organized a farewell dinner for the students at Hippo Cafe and Restaurant. It was a great memory and the students are always welcome back to BUUIC. INTEGRATIVE RESEARCH COLLABORATION FOR SUSTAINABLE TOURISM IN HOTEL BETWEEN BURAPHA UNIVERSITY AND CHULALONGKORN UNIVERSITY DEC 53 On 13 December 2022, Burapha University has agreement to develop the high impact research to society with Chulalongkorn University. As a consequence, Burapha University International College, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, Faculty of Geoinformatics together with Chulalongkorn University have research collaboration in Eastern Economic Corridor by emphasizing on reducing carbon emission in hotel and accommodation for having sustainable practice. Initially, the project has invited hotel top leaders who would like to drive environmentally friendly hotel to attend the training. The training is organized aimed to enhance the human capability for hotel top leaders to build the awareness about the impact of carbon emission from hotel business on environment and climate change. Secondly, the eco-friendly hotel operation manual for hotel employee is developed and used to train for enhancing the green capability of hotel employee in operational level. The operation manual aims to gather the case of successive hotels where are certified by Green Hotel standard or having environmentally friendly activities. Thirdly, the baseline data of carbon emission is collected in order to measure the carbon emission baseline. Then, researchers dwell into the hotel in order to provide the solutions for designing the activities to reduce the carbon emission in hotel business. Lastly, the eco-friendly product is developed for enhancing the revenue in local community.
BUUIC CHRISTMAS PROM NIGHT PARTY 54 DEC On 14 December 2022, Before Christmas, the BUUIC Student Club provided a Goodbye Senior Prom Night Party for fourth-year students. Prior to the final semester of internships and graduation, senior students from all majors gathered at the BUU Hotel. More than 100 students, executives, instructors, and staff attended the event to celebrate the theme of Christmas Prom Night. Moreover, everyone enjoyed commemorate speeches from representative students and instructors. Everyone especially enjoyed the King & Queen contest, and a special gift of appreciation was given to the winning students.
