For in the other kingdom, the Moors lived every manner of
strange and wonderful creature and they needed neither king
nor queen but trusted in one another. In a great tree on a
great cliff in the Moors lived one such spirit, you might take
her for a girl but she was not just any girl. She was a fairy.
Her name was Maleficent.

As the years passed, Maleficent, the strongest of the fairies, rose to become
the protector of the Moors. While Stefan, since he was a palace official, he
rarely met Maleficent as he was busy following the king’s order.

One good evening, Maleficent heard that horses are galloping and
soldiers running towards the border. She spots the advance from the
cliff she is sitting on and flies off to face them. She warned the armys
and the king to stay away from Moors. However the king mocks her
as the soldiers’s laugh on cue. Soon, the fight begins.

Maleficent easily through the
ranks, knocking soldiers away
with his great wings. She shouted
“You will not have the Moors!”
She lands in front of the king.
“Not now, nor ever!”. Shortly
afterwards the fight is won and
the army runs away.

Stefan was attracted by the reward offered by the king. So he
decide to go to the border to meet Maleficent even though they
rarely seen each other in a long time

When he met Maleficent….he said…

“Maleficent, I’ve come to
warn you. They mean to kill
you. King Henry will stop at
nothing. Please, you have to

trust me.”

…..Maleficent trust him and forgave Stefan also his folk.

At one night, while they spoke of many things at the garden, Stefan gives a
Maleficent a drinks. The drinks contained drugs that made her drowsy.

Shortly afterwards she falls asleep. He stroke her wings. With tear filled eyes he
pulls out an iron chain to get Maleficent’s wings. To be honest, he wasn't willing to do
that, but he was tired of living in poverty since childhood

Next morning, Maleficent slowly
wakes up. At first movement she
groans in pain. As she slowly sits up,
her hand reaches back, but the
gorgeous wings that used to be her
constant companions are gone. She
starts crying in pain and betrayal.

While at the castle, Stefan was rewarded as promised. He was so happy
because now he has become king and married to King Henry’s daughter.

…Soon, the queen birth a beautiful daughter named Aurora. Stefan planned a
grand celebration to celebrate the birth of his daughter. All manner of folk
came to the celebration even the trio of fairies.

..hearing the news, Maleficent felt very hurt and angry. So, she came to the
celebration of the child at the castle. She cursed Aurora.

“The princess shall indeed grow in grace and
beauty, beloved by all who meet her, but before
the sun sets on her 16th birthday, she will will
prick her finger on the spindle of a spining wheel

and fall into a sleep like death, a sleep from
which she will never awaken. The princess can be
awoken from her death sleep only by true love’s

kiss.”

King Stefan ordered her men to seize
and burn every spinning wheel in the
kingdom. Secretly, he entrusted the
safety of the child to the magic of the
pixies. Not just that, he ordered his man
to hunt Maleficent down. But she made
walls of her own, so that the Moors
might never again suffer the touch of
any human.

The fairies began their
charge to raise Aurora in

a snug little cottage in
the woods. Maleficent
walked out of the forest
and approached the hut,
looking into one of the
windows where the baby

lay close by.

As the years passed by, Aurora was now in her early teens. She went to
the forest to look for the berries and she noticing a shadow hiding
around the corner.

“I know you’re there. Don’t be afraid.”

“I am not afraid.”

“Then come out. You’re my fairy Godmother. You’ve been watching over
me my whole life. I’ve always known you were close by. Your shadow
it’s been following me ever since I was small. Wherever I went, your
shadow was always with me. I remember you.”

Back at the castle, King Stefan was talking to the Maleficent’s
wings. A guard opened the door and said that the Queen is not
well. But King Stefan ignore him and shout towards the guard
for disturbing him.

The next day, Aurora came back to meet
Maleficent. She playing with the creature
near a tree. She told Maleficent that she
want to live in Moors with her.

“I’ll sleep in a tree and eat berries
and black nuts and all the fair people
will be my friends. I’ll be happy here
for the rest of my life. I’m going to

tell my aunties tomorrow.”

….she left Maleficent alone and ran to the woods.

Aurora came into the cottage and told that she want to leave her home as she has grown up,
she will be 16 tomorrow. Coincidentally, Stefan told the three fairies to take Aurora back the
day after her birthday. So, the three fairies which is her aunties told Aurora all about her
include the curse.

A while ago, Aurora go to meet Maleficent and scolded her.

“You’re the evil
that’s in the world.

It’s you!”

…Then she ran away to the castle

Back at the Castle, her father didn’t
excited to see her, he ordered his army
to locked up Aurora in a room. She was
so sad.

Suddenly, Aurora feels pain on her finger. She felt like something was calling her
and she could sense it true the wall. As Aurora went down the staircase,

~…On the spindle of a spinning wheel and fall into a
sleep like death. No power on Earth…A sleep like

death…~ The voice said.

Meanwhile, Maleficent was in
hurry to the castle as she
wants to prevent Aurora
from prick her finger on the
spindle of a spinning wheel.
But, it’s too late. Maleficent
entered the castle quietly and
she smicked into the room
without anyone noticing.

“We have to keep looking. I told you. I will
not ask your forgiveness because what I
have done to you it’s unforgivable. I was

so lost in hatred and revenge. Sweet
Aurora, you stole what was left of my
heart. And now I have lost you forever”.
Said Maleficent as she kissed Aurora’s

head

“Hello
Godmother.”Said
Aurora as she opened

her eyes.

…Maleficent was shocked

“Hello, Beasty.” Said
Maleficent as they both

hugged.

They both finally going back to the Moors. Maleficent brought
down her wall of thorns . In the end, the two kingdoms was
united not by a hero or a villain, as legend had predicted, but by
one who was both hero and villain. And her name was Maleficent.

Moral of the Story

When people reveal themselves to you the 1st time, believe them.
Trust is easily gained but once lost almost impossible to restore
We need to avoid rash words. We are all aware of the danger of
responding too quickly or responding while emotionally charged.
The lesson for all of us it to be open that true love may not present
itself in any specific form.
Holding a grudge is like taking poison and waiting for the other person
to die.

Filled with revenge, the evil witch Maleficent
curses Princess Aurora to die on her 16th

birthday. But hate is not forever a hate and love
will not last forever. Sometimes feeling change…
