Create scenes in eeDomus

Creating scenes is a very important part of current home automation, in eeDomus.
We can create scenes in a basic way in three different ways..

1. Basic form in programming mode.
2. In Programming module.
3. Rules.

In the second didactic unit (Z-wave Light Bulbs), we dealt with the creation of scenes
with the Basic form in programming mode method. In this module we will deal with
the creation of scenes using the Rules method.

GR Smart Home Series Auto Valve

Introduction

This Auto Valve is applied with Z-
wave technology and compatible with
all Z-wave networks. Every Auto
Valve can work as signal repeater,
therefore all the devices form into
cellular network and generate multi-
routes.

When used as a part of Zipato
ecosystem, it can cut the water or gas supply when leak is detected. Additionally, using
Zipato Rule Creator you can make it part of virtually limitless automation scenarios.

The range is up to 30m indoors (depending on building materials), and 100m in
outdoor environment.

If any problems arise the valve can be manually operated by pulling the clutch and
operating the handle manually.

Inclusion/add - Exclusion / Remove

a) Feed the valve with the power adapter included in the package.
b) Place network controller into inclusion / exclusion mode by

i) Accessing the page of https://secure.eeDomus.com/
ii) Activating Settings> Add or remove a device

iii) You will then be asked of what type of
peripheral you want to add, like:

1. Z-Wave device
2. IP cameras
3. Other devices

iv) Click on Add a Z-Wave device / Remove a Z-Wave Devices.
v) Press 3 times the red button on the upper-front side.

Notice: It is recommended to keep the device within 1 meter to the controller during
Add/Delete operation.

Water / Electrical Heating Thermostat

MH7H-WH

Introduction

MCOHome Water / Electrical Heating Thermostat is a
Z-Wave enabled device for indoor temperature control.
MH7H-WH is mainly applied to control wall mounted
boiler, water valve/pump etc., while MH7H-EH is for
electrical heating system. The device is of high
reliability and practicability, which can be included and
operated in any Z-Wave network with other Z-Wave
certified devices from any other manufacturers.

Inclusion/add - Exclusion / Remove

In normal working interface, press & hold S4 to enter interface for inclusion or
exclusion of Z-Wave network. Before device included into network, “- - -” will display
on the screen. Then press S4 once, device will enter learning mode to get a node ID.
If inclusion is success, a node ID will display on the screen in a few seconds. A node
ID can always inform us whether the device is in the network or not.
Now the device is ready to be operated by controller/ gateway in Z-Wave network.
Follow the same steps to exclude the device from the network. After inclusion, turn off
the device and then turn it on.

Note: The thermostat gives us two temperature values.
The first value is room temperature and we call it Detection Temperature, and the
second is the value we define as the desired room temperature and we call it Setting
temperature.

Creating a Heating Room

Before we begin the process of creating a rule, we will first create a virtual room, by
following the steps below.
1st step: Manage rooms

2nd step: Add

3rd step: Change the name of new room at heating

2nd Epal Neas Ionias Volou – 1st EK Volou page 7

Create scenes in eeDomus

4th step: change the icon of heating by selecting one image from the fowling screen and
press save.

5th step: now you have to change rooms from Room to Heating. Do the same for both
functions of thermostat.

Creating a rule

You will create a rule that connects the MCO Water / Electrical Heating Thermostat
with Control Valve (GR-105).
The rule will be based on the temperature in the room (Detection Temperature) and the
temperature we place as desired (Setting temperature), by the thermostat.

1st Rule. When the desired room temperature (Setting temperature) is lower than
room temperature (Detection Temperature) then the valve will be commanded to
open (gas supply). Valve status: ON
For this, you have to follow the path:
Configuration > Programming > rules > new rule
In the following display screen you have to fill in the parameters:
i) Name > room_ temp
ii) Schedule > Every day, Every hour, Every minute
iii) Criterias > Setting Temperature heating, becomes, above value of devise,

Detecting Temperature heating
iv) Actions > Motor Valve Heating, ON
v) Save

2nd Epal Neas Ionias Volou – 1st EK Volou page 9

Create scenes in eeDomus

2nd Rule. When the desired room temperature (Setting temperature) is higher than
room temperature (Detection Temperature) then the valve will be commanded to close
(gas supply). Valve status: OFF
At first you have to go at: Configuration > Programming > rules
Select the rule: room_temp> duplicate rule
A new screen will display, and the name of rule now is room_temp(1)
You must change parameters:

i) Schedule > Every day, Every hour, Every minute
ii) Criterias > Setting Temperature heating, becomes, below value of device,

Detecting Temperature heating
iii) Actions > Motor Valve Heating, Off
iv) Save

With these two rules, the valve closes or opens the gas flow automatically, based on
room temperature.
