1966 Part 1: Lockdown

It was a regular day for Mary Daniels at her school. Right until the bell rang, and she was told to hide. When she heard shots, all hope was lost.

1966

Part 1:
Lockdown

By: F.B.

It was a normal Monday in New Orleans, Louisiana. The year was 1966. The cars were
driving, people walking, and the students in St. Peter's middle school were having their
lunch break when all of a sudden, the bell rang. Except it was no normal bell. It was the
school's lockdown bell, which meant something terrible was going to happen.

Meanwhile, in the New Orleans police force, Sgt. Daniels heard of the impending attack
and was preparing his force. "Come on, my daughter's in that school!!" said the
Sergeant as he organized his force to patrol the school. As he did this, he called his
daughter in 6th grade and asked how the school was and asked if she could recognize
who was invading. She mysteriously replied with a frightened voice "I don’t know."

The Sergeant couldn't identify the attacker until the news came with something terrible.
The caption read:

"ST. PETER'S MIDDLE SCHOOL UNDER LOCKDOWN, AT LEAST 40 HELD HOSTAGE, 30
DECLARED DEAD."

The Sergeant was heartbroken. His own daughter, being held by that dirt bag of a
criminal. As he ordered almost the entire police station to patrol the academy, he
loaded all the firearms and remembered what damage Blackjack had done to his family.
He was responsible for Linda, his wife's, death. He had also killed his grandfather in a
duel. That was only before he was born. Nobody knew who Blackjack was. No cop had
been in a fight with Blackjack without perishing or being seriously injured. But Sgt.
Daniels had a grudge against Blackjack for what felt like a century. He knew Blackjack
best.

Meanwhile the children of St. Peter's middle school were hidden under the cafeteria
tables for about an hour until a man, approximately 6'4 dressed in black accompanied
with a black bandanna and vintage 1930s gray hat entered the room- armed and
dangerous. He fired 16 shots to the ceiling with a military class rifle. He then shouted
with a deep voice: "GET UP". Mary, Sgt. Daniels's daughter immediately recognized the
criminal. Her father told her to run from him ever since she was five. He appeared on
the news every day. Blackjack. Every student revealed themselves from their hiding
place. "Now MOVE!!" Blackjack said in his deep voice as all the students followed him,
hands up.

Later, as the police force approached the academy, Sgt. Daniels was shocked to see the
school's windows all broken by gunshots and the door wide open. "Oh God, and they
said this was one of the safest schools in the county." Sgt. Daniels said as he patrolled
the school to see holes on some passageways and bodies littered across the floor. What
made the patrol even worse was that somehow, the power grid was shut off, and there
was no way to fix it. In one of the halls were eerie messages written in what looked like
"red marker". Some of the messages were: "EVERYONE DIES ALONE", HELP ME, and
some symbols of poker and other casino games. Now that was real proof Blackjack was
there.

About 50 minutes later, the students were handcuffed in chairs by chains as Blackjack
forced fear into the young souls. "Pain. Suffering. Nobody will come for you. You will die
under the roof of your blasted school." Blackjack said as some students, girls primarily,
started crying for their lives. Until, suddenly...

SSSHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

The handcuffs in countless students caused an electrical chain reaction that left the
student unconscious and in a coma. As the remaining students faces from teary red to
pale white, Blackjack turned his back on the hostages and his eyes shined with a look of
death. Mary couldn’t believe her eyes. How could such evil even be real? As Blackjack
turned around he screamed things so brutal and bloodcurdling they can't be mentioned
in this book. As he shouted these things, Mary thought about how Blackjack was so evil.
He had been a criminal since 1927 and he hasn’t aged a bit. She knew a lot about him
from her father who was the cop that best knew the criminal. As she wondered in the
silence of the auditorium, her father and his unit were still trying to find where the
hostages were.

The police searched everywhere and cleared all the rooms possible. Still no sign of
Blackjack. As they searched every classroom and closet, one officer suggested the
auditorium. So, the officers all went there and found the hostages with Blackjack.

"Sgt. Daniels" said Blackjack. "We meet again." "Yes, and for the last time." Replied Sgt.
Daniels. As the sergeant fired a shot, Blackjack grabbed his rifle and started shooting.
"Now's the time!" Said Mary to her friends. "Let's escape, NOW! Quick!"

Blackjack then grabbed his knife from his shirt and mysteriously used acrobatics to
knock down the officers. Sgt. Daniels started acting vigilant, for Blackjack's superhuman
like agility made him dangerous during battle. As Blackjack knocked down the other
officers at the school passageways, he encountered himself with Sgt. Daniels at the end
of the hallway. And there, it was over. Blackjack detonated the bomb he put in the
school auditorium. The school was now flames. As the cop was almost unconscious, he
could see Blackjack unscathed. He was heading toward him, in his hands, a WW1
bayonet. He was going for the kill. When the criminal mastermind struck, he never felt
anything. He then regained his sight and he could see his daughter holding the blade
back. "RUN, MARY!!! NOW!!" Screamed the almost faint detective as he grabbed a
random crowbar and started fighting for life, or death.

1 shot to the leg and 11 cuts on his body. Those were Sgt. Daniels' injuries. As he and
Blackjack fought, the floor beneath started rumbling. A missile! It was pointed right at
the school. As the lifetime enemies were separated by the explosion, the US military,
FBI, CIA, Navy SEALs, and the armies of other countries arrived. Apparently, several
pieces of equipment like helicopters and tanks burnt. Back to the fight, Blackjack and
Sgt. Daniels were on top of rubble fighting until the detective pushed the criminal into
the crater caused by the explosion. About 100 feet deep. When his daughter and several
of her friends arrived to help the injured Sergeant, a chopper came out of the crater and
had its door opened, with Blackjack inside. When he waved to the armies with a rifle in
hand, they started shooting, but even bullets couldn’t stop the chopper from eventually
leaving.

AFTERMATH

It was now 5 months after the hostage crisis. Sgt. Daniels recovered from his injuries,
and was still a cop. Mary and the other hostages were perfectly safe. But the mentality
of the incident could never be cured. Sgt. Daniels had nightmares about Blackjack and
the earthquake. Besides the nightmares though, Sgt. Daniels and his family were now
living happily... or so they thought they were.
