Elementary Level

Kaleigh B.

My name is Kaleigh B., and I am 12 years old and in 6th grade. Fortunately, I have a

brother, Justin, who is fifteen and a sister, McKennah, and she is twenty years old, and, of
course, my mom and dad. I also have a dog, Bugsy, and he is my favorite thing ever! I am
awesomely fantastic in gymnastics and am moving up a level to Xcel next year. I’ve been
thinking about joining cheerleading in the fall. I love baking, hair, and makeup because they are
enjoyable. I would admire working at a nail salon or a veterinarian which would help animals as
they are often sick. I hope next year as a 7th grader and 13 year old is fun.

Dog Training

Although he doesn’t do dog training now, Matt helped a lot of people and dogs. He
started working around 2008, but he likes to think he has been practicing his whole life. He
enjoys seeing swift improvement, though he dislikes uncooperative clients. Generously helping
dogs is a major part of the job, which makes Matt joyful. Making dogs well-behaved and
extremely enjoyable is worth it in my opinion. My dad always said, No matter what your job is,
you should always do the best you can do,” because you can help other people as well.

Easily and eagerly, Matt always loved dogs, so he wanted to go into the dog training job
but first needed to prepare. When he prepared, it was around 2007. He learned facts at
Animal Behavioral College. Matthew gratefully received a degree and then studied and
practiced with his own dog. He started this job because he extra income which would help.
The worst part, in his opinion, was really reluctant, uncooperative customers, or none at all! He
fixed that by not expecting much and starting slowly. Slowly, preparation comes first before
the job.
Matt’s favorite part is the satisfaction of helping people and dogs. Helpfully and
amazingly, he focused on making the owners’ relationship with their dogs better. He did it
because he wanted to achieve helping dogs so their owners were grateful to have an easily
handled, well-behaved dog. Swiftly, often you see improvement after one class! Matt’s
favorite part used to be meeting the dog, but that changed! As one class usually lasts an hour,
he sometimes gives them an extra bonus fifteen minutes which is a kind deed. Bingo! He
would not change anything about the awesome job. It must be satisfying to help dogs.
Unfortunately, there is a worst part to dog training. The part is when clients don’t
follow the structured program. To fix that, Matt usually reviews the steps and reminds the
people because he is there to train humans as well. It is critical for the success of the business
for owners who need to acquire a behaved dog. He says he gets frustrated viewing a dog
suffering from lack of effort of the owner. It has always been Matt’s least favorite part. All of
this would be solved if people played their part and listened! Worst parts can stink when
working with dogs.
Bravely, Matt started dog training and admired it. He started preparing in
approximately 2008. He worked in the Richmond, Virginia area which is where he lived at the
time. Matt worked hard as preparation because he wanted a better job and wanted to help
dogs. He liked some parts and disliked other parts. Matt worked as a dog trainer to help cute
dogs.

Constance C.

My name is Constance Elisabeth Hope C. I am 15 years old. I am in 7th grade. My siblings
are Bethany, Charity, Grady, Constance (me), and Crystal. I love partying with my friends. My
favorite foods are anything with pasta, pears, avocado, and baked onions.

Oreo

Since Oreo my sister’s cat was a kitten, which was two month old, he has lived at our
home. Suddenly my sisters saw Oreo in the pound and choose him for her, and our family.)Oreo
looks cute. While I get up from my bed my parent feed Him. I don’t play fetch with Oreo. My
glad my sister got Oreo from the pound.

Oreo looks very cute and very furry and energetic when he swiftly scampers around
outside. He has black and white fur. He is a medium cat and he measures 14 inches tall. He has
small and pointy ears which stand up straight. He has a medium awesome very furry tail. He is
not fat and not thin but just right. Oreo looks cute because he is very furry.

My parents take care of Oreo. My parents feed Oreo one time a day. They place dry cat
food, which looks hard, in a bowl and water in another bowl. When he gets really dirty we do
not give him a bath. All of our family pets him outside because my mother does not allow Oreo
to come inside. Oreo sometime likes people to pet him. My parents do take care of Oreo.
Oreo likes receiving attention. Because Oreo loves people we know he wants people to
pet him when we walk outside. Thankfully he doesn’t need a long leash because my family lives
in the country. He walks normally around our property which provides him with plenty of
exercise. When we pet him he sometimes bites. We don’t play fetch with him. Oreo does like
someone giving him attention.

The Journey of a Lifetime

Some time ago, the group of people I am travelling with now willingly decided to
explore with Lewis and Clark, who led the expedition. Eventually when the US bought new
territory, we went to explore the new territory because we wanted to know more about it. We
travelled in many different methods as we headed west through rivers and mountains. We
packed the clothes we needed, which turned out to be very difficult, and we saw radical things
that were unbeknownst to us before.

We travelled many different ways during the amazing expedition. We started by
keelboat, slowly paddling across the river. It soon became tedious, long, and tiring because we
had to stand and paddle all day. Eventually, we reached the sharp, jagged mountains where we
switched to horses, which were a lot better at travelling over land than boats. We left many
precious supplies behind due to lack of space on the horses. The mountains were rocky, steep,
and dangerous. If the horses took one wrong step, the horse, and possibly a person and
precious supplies went tumbling down the mountains. There were many different ways we
travelled during the expedition.

We needed to wear many different types of clothes on the expedition. By the end of our
trip, our clothes were torn and raggedy. For the frosty mountains, we needed warm, thick
clothes. For the sweaty, hot climate in the keelboat, we needed light clothes. We also needed a
wide-brimmed hat which mostly shielded us from the sun. Sadly, we couldn’t take much along
because there was not enough space, while our clothes soon became smelly due to repetitive
wear. There were many different types of clothes we wore on the expedition.

We saw many wonderful things on our trip. There were various colorful flowers by the
paths. We met some friendly Indians, who soon became our guide. We bartered beads and
horses with the Indians because we needed to make the transition from boat to land. On the
sloped mountains and the flat grasslands of the expedition, there were also many scary grizzly
bears while numerous bison herds roamed the plains. There were many wonderful things we
saw on the trip.

Quickly, we learned that travel was exhausting. The clothes I packed wore out rapidly
and developed holes and other rips in the fabric when I wore them while exploring. The many
things we saw were now familiar as we traveled back to where we came from, and we still
consumed varying types of food, which was awkward from time to time because it is strikingly
different from your usual meal. The most important thing we did on that trip was overcome our
travel issues because if we didn’t, then we couldn’t have discovered anything.

The Greatest Companion

My dog Blackie who is 2 years old, is energetic and because we got him as a puppy, he
knows I am his owner. We bought Blackie 30 minutes away from our house. He sleeps in the
garage in a kennel with blankets lining the bottom, but sometimes he will sleep inside. Blackie is
a very friendly dog. Patiently, Blackie waits while I care for him. I play with Blackie outside.
Blackie is a very energetic dog.
Blackie is very smart, cute and strong. He is black, big and shiny. When you touch his
fur, it is so soft. Because he is contented, Blackie wags his tail which thumps when it hits the
ground. Blackie's floppy, black ears, bounce up and down while he jumps excitedly. He is not
thin or fat but just right. Blackie is the smartest and cutest and strongest dog in the world.
Blackie does not enjoy it when I give him a bath, yet he
patiently waits for me as I do my job while he stands quietly on the deck. First I pour warm
water on him; next I scrub him with soap; lastly, I put water on him again. After that I dry him
carefully with a towel, and then comes the part he enjoys most, the brushing part. I take a soft
brush and neatly I brush his hair, making smooth lines, and then I let him off of the deck.
Blackie is a very big dog because I feed him his dry dog food two times a day with water in his
other bowl. Blackie, who is a very patient dog, lovingly licks my hand when I have finished
feeding or washing him.
Whenever I play with Blackie, it is a joy. I take Blackie for a walk or run with him around
our property. Gladly, I don't put a leash on Blackie because we live in the country. Happily, I
throw a blue, ball which has a squeaker in it, to Blackie and he brings it back. I throw rocks
down a hill and Blackie, fully energized by the water he just drank, charges down the hill at full
speed. Blackie, then comes panting up the hill with the same rock in his mouth, his tail wagging
with excitement. When he gets tired of chasing rocks, I will bring out my hula-hoop and say,
"Go through the hoop," and Blackie will jump very high to get through the hoop and safely on
the ground again. He knows many other tricks like, sit, stay, lay down, jump, and bam bam
when he plays dead. It is a joy to watch him exercise and play.
Blackie's fur is black and he is very strong. I take care of him, walk him, and wash
him. Blackie, who is the cutest dog in the world, enjoys it very much when I throw his toy or a
rock because he chases it right away. The most important thing about Blackie is that he is the
best dog in the whole world, and because he is so much fun to be around, he is super friendly,
and he is amazingly loveable.

Caden G.

My name is Caden. I am twelve years old, and I love to play sports; plus I am in 6th grade.
I only have three brothers who are all older than me, Cody, Taylor, and Nick. My favorite sports
are baseball, soccer, and football. My favorite foods are delicious bacon, pizza, and chocolate
mousse which is the best. When I grow up I want to be a in the NFL as a running back and go to
the Galapagos islands; plus I want to be a pro goalie in soccer because I am good at being a
goalie. My favorite thing we did this year was the adjective game we played. I am probably
going to go to the soccer field with my best friend who lives in my neighborhood this summer
and go to Michigan.

Garfield and His Coffee

On one warm sunny morning Garfield was happily drinking coffee. Garfield was dreaming
about lasagna the night before. Garfield does not know that Odie is there because he is tired
and does not notice. He woke up that morning tired and just wanted to have some coffee. Odie
is a happy and energetic ball that likes to play games. Garfield desired to go back to sleep after
he was done with his coffee. After Garfield was done he decided to go back to sleep because he
was done with his morning coffee.

Odie barked energetically and startled Garfield causing him to spill. The hot coffee
splashed on his face because Odie had startled him. Garfield got burned and screamed ouch in
pain. He wanted to get pay back on whoever made him spill his coffee. Garfield was angry that
it had destroyed his wonderful morning. The coffee dripped on the table and down onto the
floor. Garfield was made that Odie had barked and because the coffee was ruining the floor.

Unfortunately Garfield is covered in coffee and is unhappy. Odie isn’t smiling anymore
because Garfield is made. Odie saw the mess that he had made and was sorry. Odie apologized
and liked Garfield clean to show that he was sorry. Garfield grumbled not to do that again.
Garfield decided to go back to bed to get some sleep. The warm coffee that Garfield drank was
making him sleepy, that is why he decided to go to bed.

Audrey H.

My name is Audrey H., and I have one very playful brother whose name is Austin. We
are both homeschooled. I enjoy dancing, swimming, playing the piano, dress-up, playing with
my dools, and visiting an assisted living center. I have been dancing for three years. I do ballet,
lyrical, and tap, but tap is my favorite because I can make noise. My favorite swimming stroke
is freestyle. I have been playing the piano for five years, and I am working on Mozart’s
Concerto K488 in A major. My favorite dress-up outfit is my Queen Ester outfit because it is all
turquoise. My favorite resident is artistic Ms. Sue, and since she knows Jesus, she is really
sweet. My favorite foods are sausage, pizza, and spicy sushi. Someday I would like to visit
China because I am learning Mandarin, and I have heard they serve chicken in a very unusual
way.

The Panda Who Never Told Lies

Once there was a bamboo field in New Caledonia. It was near a speedy highway. In the
bamboo field, there was a cute, small, sensitive, pink and brown panda happily eating her
lunch. She slurped spaghetti, gobbled meatballs, licked marinara sauce, and glugged fizzy
lemonade. To amuse herself, she talked to nature.
The cute and fuzzy, pink and brown panda became bored just eating lunch and talking to
nature. She excitedly decided that lying would be funny. Frantically, the panda, who was
shouting, “Truck! Help! Truck!” was trying hard not to smile. Her surprised dad, who had just
surfaced there, found that there was not truck. The panda didn’t finish her lunch. The hungry
panda did it three more times, but since her father thought that she was playing again, he
didn’t come to help.
The third time, the panda’s aggravated father didn’t arrive. The panda sadly cried and
ran because she didn’t want to be run over by the red truck. Her father was very disappointed,
but he forgave her, and she perceived her lesson. She never told lies and she always got to
happily eat her lunch.

Noah H.

My name is Noah David, and since I have seven siblings, who are Owen, Isaac, Levi,
Lydia, Elsa, Millie, and Cora, I am always playing with them. Duke, which is my dog, is four years
old, and I am always happy to take care of him. I like to explore frequently outside in the creek
and in the enormous open field which is on our property. My favorite thing to do is to play
Legos with my brothers. I can spend hours in my room building Lego cities and making exciting
games. Because I live in a large family with many siblings, there is always something to do and
explore.

Duke

My dog Duke which is four years old is a good dog. Gladly he naps outside because he is
an outside dog. Duke looks very strong. I give him food and water every day. Since Duke likes
to swim in the creek, we go down with him. Duke is a good dog to have.
Duke looks golden with short, fuzzy fur. He is always dirty and smells bad because we
never give him a bath. He has a cut which is on the side of his ear. Duke has an extremely long,
waggy tail. He is not thin or fat but just in between. Duke is a big dog since he eats a lot of
food.
I take care of Duke by giving him food and water every day. He eats two times a day.
We do not give him baths because he does it himself in the creek. When he is done he shakes
off the water and soaks me! Every day I check on him. Since Duke is a good dog, every once
and a while I will give him a dog treat.
I happily play with Duke and take walks down in the flowing creed with him. Duke does
not need a leash because we live in the country. I play with Duke every day which is usually in
the afternoons. Duke doesn’t really play fetch since when you toss the stick, he will keep it.
Duke is fun to play with.
Duke has a golden look. I give him food and water because I take care of him. He like to
play keep-away with the ball. Most importantly, Duke is very friendly since he plays well with
you. Duke is the best dog ever!

Owen H.

My name is Owen. I am in sixth grade, almost in seventh. I have seven amazing siblings.
They are Noah, Isaac, Levi, Elsa, Millie, and Cora. I like to study the ocean. I have studied it
since I was five years old. I actually like every single thing about the ocean. My favorite thing in
the ocean is orcas because they are dolphins and are huge. I want to set eyes on the beach one
day because I have never been before. My life is a fun adventure every day with my siblings
which also makes every day crazy too.

Sorry!

Garfield was drinking coffee while watching TV. Early that morning, he had awakened
from happily dreaming about lasagna and gone to the kitchen for breakfast. Garfield felt so
tired that he urgently wanted to go back to sleep. He did not know Odie was there because he
was intent on sipping his coffee. Odie, who was awake, was happy and energetic about ball.
Garfield was too busy drinking coffee to notice Odie.
Odie barked and startled Garfield. Coffee splashed all over his face, and it dripped on
the new table and on the floor. It burned him, and he obviously hollered, “OUCH!” Burned and
wet, Garfield wanted to pay back whoever did this to him since he was already angry because
he had a ruined morning. Odie just wanted Garfield to play ball with him.
After Odie’s surprise, Garfield was drenched with coffee. Odie wasn’t smiling anymore
because he noted the mess and lovingly felt sorry. Although he apologized, he would have to
run away from Garfield because of what Garfield was going to do to him, which was kicking him
off the table. But instead, Garfield said, “Don’t do that.” To Odie’s surprise, Garfield shuffled
away to his comfortable bed.

Gabriel K.

I am called Gabriel. I have six siblings, Harvey, Lucinda, Isaac, Jem, Daniel, and
Christopher. I love to develop games. My favorite food is steak pie and pizza. When I am
mature, I would like to lead a DevOps team. I would like to travel to Japan. I am from the
United Kingdom. My favorite composition that I wrote this year is this bio.

Jupiter

Jupiter is a real Gas Giant. Jupiter is the largest planet that orbits the sun. Jupiter is so
giant, you can see it from earth without any epic equipment. Jupiter is tagged after the Roman
god Jupiter. Jupiter is roomier than 1 and 1/2 of all the other planets put together. If Jupiter
were hollow, you could fit 1.3k earths inside. This is why Jupiter is called the Gas Giant.

Jupiter’s Great Red Spot is three times the size of the earth. The spot has been seen for
around 300 years. The spot has shrunk and expanded over the years. It has also varied in
position and shape. It has turned dull pink or bright red.

Isaac K.

Garfield is lazily gulping coffee. Odie is standing behind him, but Garfield does not see
him. Odie is fully awake and wants to play ball. Garfield is thinking about lasagna and garlic
bread. Garfield is lazily gulping down his coffee.
Odie barked at Garfield. Then Garfield spilt his coffee on him. When the coffee went on
him, he yelled, “Ouch!” at the highest elevation of his lungs. Odie thought, “Oops, I did not
mean to do that.” Garfield got scalded with scorchingly hot coffee. Odie barked; then Garfield
spilt his coffee and got burned.
Garfield looks irksomely at Odie, but Odie keeps smiling. Garfield angrily yells at Odie,
"DON`T DO THAT!" Odie amusingly does not look sorry. Garfield is thinking Odie is so
witless because he made him spill his coffee. Garfield yells at Odie, but Odie does not look
sorry.

Brielle M.

Hello, my name is Brielle M., and I am 11 years old. In my family, I have 3 brothers and 1
sister, and we are all B’s except my parents. Their names are Heidi and Durrell, and our names
are Brock, Benton, Blaize, Brielle (me), and Bryn. My favorite hobbies are helping people,
baking, and playing lacrosse. My favorite thing to bake is cupcakes. This summer I am going to
help my friend who has breathing issues, so I am going to go out to my dad’s retail shop where
he sells mulch, and I am going to sell cupcakes there to raise money for her. She also plays on
the high school girls’ lacrosse team.

Landscaping

Durrell E. M. is my dad’s name, and he is the president of a lawn care company which
has been going on since 1998 because lawn care is very important. When he started, he had his
greasy shop in Lancaster County PA and he still does. His shop is about five minutes away from
my house. Skillfully, he worked hard to anticipate for his job which can be very hard work.
Throughout this time, he has happily liked some certain parts but some he does not like as
much. Lawn care is important.
My dad had some ups and downs for preparing to be a landscaper. Happily, he did
some reading to develop his skills because he did not go to college. When he looks back at it
sometimes he wished he had more education because customers can sometimes be tricky to
deal with. To do things right sometimes he would need to get fussy. Landscaping can be
difficult when you have to figure it out on your own which my dad had to do because he did not
go to college. My dad loved the outdoors which is always unpredictable and he loved people
and that is why he chose this career because he quickly fell in love with it. Although preparing
to be a landscaper was challenging, my dad is glad he chose this career.
The favorite part of my dad’s job is being around people. Generously, my dad loves it
because it provides for his family. When my dad work’s he works during the day 10 months out
of the year. He says he would not change anything about it if he could. If you are going to be a
landscaper you are going to need to work outside. My dad happily loves working outside which
is always unpredictable. Over the years, my dad has decided that September and October are
his favorite months out of the year. My dad loves his job because he loves people.
My dad’s least favorite part of his job is when the ground gets dry and brown. Sadly, it
has always been his least favorite. Rain is what he prays for. Outside is very unpredictable
because it is hard to know when it is going to rain so it can be weeks or even months until it
rains again. When it is, dry dust can get in your eyes. We usually pray for it not to get dry.
When the ground gets, dry and brown it is horrible which then it is hard to mow.
My dad had to read organized books to prepare. Happily, my dad’s favorite part of his
job is usually being around people because usually they are nice. My dad’s least favorite part of
his job is when it gets dusty and dust can get in your eyes. Although my dad likes his job, it
provides for his family so we have clothes food etc. Landscaping is important when it comes to
grumpy people which can be difficult. To prepare my dad had to do a lot of reading.

Katherine M.

My name in Katherine, and I am 13 years old. I am from Pennsylvania. I live with my
parents, three sisters, and my dog Sadie. Some of my hobbies are playing soccer, art, and
playing the piano. My favorite food is pierogis. I love swimming with my friends in the
summertime and going for bike rides in my development. My favorite movie is Rouge One, a
Star Wars story.

The Girl and the Shark

Once upon a time there was a girl who went on vacation with her family. They hastily
strolled on the creaky boardwalk and played in the sand and water. The next day they decided
to go to the beach, but when they got there, there were signs and posters saying, “Go into
water at your risk.” They wondered why, so they asked the lifeguard. There were sharks.
Shocked by his answer, they walked off the beach.
The next day they were all told they could go in the water. The girl got bored and
wanted to make some excitement. So she yelled, “SHARK, SHARK, THERE IS A BIG, UGLY
SHARK.!’’ Everyone fled the water. Happily giggling and still IN the water, everyone was yelling
at her to get out. “I fooled you,” she said. “Ha, ha, ha!” The beachgoers returned into the water,
angry and upset.

This time, the shark really DID come. She tried to shout, but nobody believed her. The
shark fiercely swam through the water. The girl barely got away from the shark. He was still
angrily swimming through the water looking for his next victim. The girl learned her lesson not
to lie.

Cody P.

My name is Cody, and I have one older brother who is thirteen. I am ten years old, and I
like to play sports. I absolutely love pizza and Chinese food. My family enjoys the beach when
it is summer. I would like to see Hawaii because I think it would be pretty.

Ellie the Obedient Dog

My dog is named Ellie. We’ve had Ellie for four years since she was a puppy. We went
to a dog rescue and found sweet Ellie. Ellie looks very friendly which is a good thing. I happily
help care for Ellie. Ellie likes to play because she adores sticks although she does like balls too.
My family named our dog Ellie.
Ellie looks like a fat dog because she begs for a lot of people food. She has short, black
and golden fur. Ellie is a medium size dog who is constantly sleeping. She has medium, floppy
ears. Ellie has a medium skinny tail and one big, fat neck. Ellie looks fat.
Taking care of sweet Ellie is not hard. I feed her two times a day because she is always
hungry. I provide her with dry food and water. Ellie reluctantly takes a bath when she really
smells. I brush her every once in a while. When she whines, which is annoying, I let her
outside. Caring for her isn’t hard.
Ellie likes to play with my dad. Sometimes I’ll take her on a walk, usually at noon.
Sometimes I play fetch with Ellie. When my dad comes home, he plays with Ellie. I try to play
with Ellie, but she doesn’t like to play much. I try to throw a ball, which is annoying because
she just gnaws on sticks. Ellie gets disinterested very fast. Dad and Ellie like to play.

My dog Ellie is black and Gold. I faithfully care for her every day as that is one of my
chores. Ellie adores playing which makes her a lot of fun. She is a good friend because she is a
wonderful, obedient dog.

Erik P.

Winter Snowman

It’s the time of year to go play in the snow. A boy named Erik and a girl named Meagan
awoke early on a December day to find that there was thick, powdery snow on the ground
outside. Erik and Meagan, who were very excited, both wanted to go play in the snow outside,
but their mother told them to eat something first. Doing as their mother commanded, they
both ate breakfast as fast as they could. After breakfast was finished they impatiently ran to
find some winter garments because they didn’t want to waste a single moment of the best time
of the year to play in the snow.
They were glad they finally got outside. They wanted to build a snowman. With no
hesitation, they immediately started to roll and pack snowballs as soon as they ran out of the
door because they didn’t want to waste any time. Erik and Meagan went around finding ovular
stones, which were very hard to find in the snow, to be used as the eyes and buttons. They
asked their mother for a carrot for the nose of the snowman. Then, they found an old hat to go
on top of the snowman. Now all they had to do was hope it didn’t melt. They were glad that
they went outside so early in the day.

Titus S.

My name is Titus, and I live with my mom, dad, and my little sister. I also have a dog,
who is a miniature dachshund named Peanut. I enjoy my writing classes but not my homework.
Someday I want to be the president of my 4-H club. My favorite place to be is on vacation is
Colorado Springs where we can visit Focus on the Family. When I grow up, I want to be an
owner of a coffee shop. My favorite foods are coffee, ice-cream, and pizza. When I’m eating my
favorite food, it’s fun to read my favorite book series, the Red Rock Mysteries. Those are my
favorite things and a little about me.

Chet and His Cookies

One snowy day, a plump little boy named Chet, who was seven years old, was rolling out
dough with his mom. It was the evening before Christmas on December 24th. He was making
cookies at home in the kitchen on the island when the boy thought, “I need these cookies to be
perfect for Santa Clause because he’s going to be wholeheartedly gorging down these soft
chocolate chip cookies. He put the ingredients in and started to stir them. He loved to feel the
rolling pin and flour on his hands. When he was done rolling out the dough, he admired his
work.
When Chet had finished rolling out the dough he read the other steps in the recipe and
it said to cut the cookies from the dough. After the boy had checked to make sure that the
dough was perfectly flat, he seized the cookie cutters and started to cut gingerbread men,
Christmas trees, and Christmas presents. Chet pushed the cutters into the dough and lifted it
up. The cutters, which were very sharp, shaped the dough into gingerbread men or whatever
Chet wanted. Once he had finished, he put the shaped cookies onto a cookie sheet. He then
rolled the dough into a ball and flattened it out again. After that, he cut the dough into shapes
and put that onto a sheet. Then he said, “I can’t wait until these scrumptious cookies are done
because I rolled and cut out the cookie dough all by myself!

The boy treasured his cookies even more after they were baked, frosted, and put on a
plate. Once they were cool, Chet frosted the soft and delicious cookies. After they were all
done, he offered his finished cookies to his family, and they ate them happily. When each
member of the family had a cookie, the boy put the plate of cookies on a table by the large
brick fireplace for Santa. Then Chet, who had too many cookies, went to look under the tree
and found 25 presents for him and his sister. Then he counted 23 presents for his mom and
dad! After he had finished counting, he wanted another baked cookie from the plate because
he thought that counting presents quickly became tiring.
“Hooray,” the boy cried, “It’s Christmas!” Chet, who was
overjoyed that his favorite holiday was here, looked up at the huge stockings and then at the
presents under the tree. Suddenly he remembered the cookies! Had Santa Clause come? He
crept fearfully to the plate of cookies that was by the big fireplace because he wanted to know
if Santa Clause had tried his delicious cookies. His face lit up! There were three cookies missing
from the plate. Chet thought to himself saying, “I guess Santa Clause was snacking on my
cookies while he put our presents under the tree.” While he thought this, he ran to his parents’
bedroom and cried out, “Merry Christmas, everyone!”

Henry W.

My name is Henry, and I am going to tell you a little about myself. I have a total of seven
people in my family including me. I have four other siblings. I will go oldest to youngest in my
list. It goes Lance, Lauren, Karl, Erik, then me, Henry. My favorite thing to do is play ice hockey. I
like playing hockey because you have to be extremely skilled and physical. Excitingly, my dream
job when I grow up is to be a pro hockey player. Of course, since I am a hockey player, I love to
eat, and my favorite food is burgers and my favorite drink is a milkshake. Also, my favorite
vacation spot is at Sand Bridge Beach in Virginia. I think it is interesting to hear autobiographies;
maybe next time you could write an autobiography and tell about yourself.

Fire Safety

Children, fire prevention is very important; here is what you can do to prevent
them. Never play with electrical cords that are plugged in because you could get shocked or
killed immediately. You can also wear tight sleeves while you are cooking because your sleeves
could catch on fire which means you could burn your arm. Another way is to put a fireplace
screen so the ashes cannot fall on your floor and catch your house on fire, and don’t stand by
the fireplace or your woodstove because you could catch yourself on fire! Make sure your
matches, fire starters, and lighters are sealed up tightly too. If you follow all these tips, you can
prevent a fire from happening. It is important that you prevent fires, because hundreds of fires
happen a year.
In order to be prepared in case your house should ever catch on fire, you should have a
plan. When you get a house, or build one that is new, make sure you put smoke detectors on
every level so you can be safe. Also, make sure that you keep them clean because if they don’t
work and there is a fire, you could not know and get extremely hurt or even killed which would
be frightful. Make sure that you have a route to get out of your house if there is a fire, and you
post those routes in every room because if you have a guest and they don’t know your house
that well, they could get hurt also. If you do have a route, make sure that you do practice it
twice a year so if a fire is in your house, you can carefully get out. You want to also check if your
windows and doors are easily accessible so that if there is a fire, you can get out without trying
to open the windows or doors. Just in case of a fire, to be prepared is the number one priority,
so make sure you put smoke alarms up.
If there is a fire, you need to react fast if you want to get out. If your alarm in your
house goes off, you want to get out as fast as you can because you may only have seconds to
live which means you only get to live once. When you hear the alarm go off, carefully feel your
beautiful, big, blue door because if it is hot do not open it and put a towel beneath it. Then go
out your second route. If the door is not hot, open it slowly and keep low and shut it slowly and
go out your window if you have one. Once you escape if you have a phone close to you or in
your reach, call 911 and do not go back in the fire, and wait for the fire department. If there is
ever a fire, call the fire department as fast as you can, so they can get your other friends out if
there are anyone in the building.

My name is Blake, and I am 12 years old. I live in southeast Pennsylvania. I have one

brother and one sister. I am the middle child. I like to hunt and farm. We lambed out about 60
ewes and have about 120 lambs. I killed my 11th turkey this spring. It had a 10 inch beard, and I
killed my 3rd buck last fall. I like to eat venison, fried shrimp, and bear meat. When I am older I

want to be a sheep farmer and a taxidermist.

Jupiter, the One and Only

Jupiter is the largest planet. It is the biggest planet that orbits the sun. it is the largest
planet in the solar system. All the planets could easily fit inside. If it was hallowed 1,300 earths
could fit inside. It was named after a roman god Jupiter because of its size. Jupiter is a large
planet.

The great red spot has been on Jupiter for years we know that because the spot has
been seen from earth for over 300 years. The great red spot, which is approximately 3 times the
size of earth, is a giant storm that is many times stronger than any storm on earth. The great
red spot has never changed passion or shape. The spot has always been a part of Jupiter.
Jupiter’s moons are very numerous because Jupiter has 63 known moons. Sadly only 13
of them can be seen from earth. The largest moons were discovered in 1610. The four largest
are Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Calisto. The outer moons are small and less than 50 miles
across. Jupiter has many moons.

Jupiter has been studied by space crafts and telescopes. A space craft named Voyager
discovered Jupiter’s ring, it was accidently discovered because it was passing by on its way to
Saturn. Space crafts discovered Jupiter’s newest moons and took pictures. Jupiter was studied
many ways.

Thomas Edison, the Outstanding Inventor

Mr. Edison was the greatest inventor in the 1800-1900’s. Thomas Edison was born on
February 11, 1847 in the little town of Milan, Ohio. When he was 10, he built his first chemistry
laboratory. At age 16 he became a telegraph operator, and at 21, he wrote to the US
Government for legal protection for his first invention, a vote counting machine. In 1869, he
received a large amount of money, that enabled him to start his own company. Because of that,
he was always very busy. Coincidentally, he was the greatest inventor then, so he had to spend
a lot of time inventing.
The most interesting of his inventions was really the phonograph. It took longer than
any other invention to develop, because of the exact indentations. In his lifetime, he listened to
thousands of recordings. He especially liked Brahms, Verdi, and Beethoven. Many of those
recordings are still available today. Interestingly, the people loved it, and the phonograph made
it possible for people to listen to the same thing over and over again.
The most difficult of his inventions was the electric light, because a lot of experiments
failed. Before the electric light, people burned oil and gas to produce it. He thought that the
electric light would be very useful to people. Time after time, he tried a kind of filament, but it
burned out. Finally he found that carbon was the solution for producing light and it lasted a
long time without burning out quickly. The difficult work and experiments was worth it, and it
gave the masses a different, stronger and more powerful light.
He was also responsible for the beginnings of the movie industries. He invented and
used the motion picture film. The first showing of a movie was a huge success, and people
came from all over to see even little things like new cars or people walking down a street. Then
the first motion picture based on a story came out, the Great Train Robbery. The movie was
extremely popular, and business was booming. That started the great movie industry. The
motion picture was popular and is popular, because it gave people the ability to experience
things over again without being there when it happened, and it gave the industries some
money too.
The phonograph made it possible to listen to a song or audio track over and over again.
The invention of the movie gave people the ability to experience something over again after it
happened, giving people jobs at the same time. Also, the light bulb gave the people an
alternative to candle light. His inventions changed the world for the better, and they were
inexpensive alternatives to what they had. They gave the people a change for the better.

Maria B.

Hi! My name is Maria, and I am fourteen. I have wonderful parents and eight energetic
siblings: Kaitlyn-19, Miriam-17, Amos-16, Maria (me), Ulrich-12, Louisa-10, Elliott-7, Emmalita-5,
and Ephraim-2. A new baby sibling is due this summer. I’m very excited! Swimming, rip sticking,
spending time with friends, and riding in the pony cart with my cousin are things I very much
enjoy doing. Some of the things I like are salt and vinegar chips and horses. I would love getting
a horse, but my Dad has not yet consented. J I live in Pennsylvania, on a farm, with the view
of the mountain behind us, and we own around two hundred sheep. The baby lambs we have
right now are so cute and little because they were recently born. I have a small herb garden
where I have many different kinds of herbs, and some of them I hope to make teas with.

A Very Handy Thing

Small pocket phones are a great thing to have on hand, especially when they are
charged or have service. These minute objects can be used almost anywhere. Since they are so
small they don’t look very useful. One thing which is helpful is they have many uses. Annoying
enough, they can cause many problems because nothing on earth is perfect. Small phones are
great!
Although they are not exactly the same, most cell phones look very similar. They are
small and rectangular, which often is about two to four inches. Clearly enough they are also
quite thin. Cell phones can come in many delightfully different colors, because people like
them more if they can choose a color. Cases are also different colors and styles. Since you
don’t want your cell screen to get scratched, you can buy clear screen protectors. Some cell
phones contain buttons, although most are operated by touch screens. One way to tell if a
phone is an IPhone, is if they have an apple on the back. Cell phones do change as the years go
by.
Cell phones are used in many ways. Instead of a camera, you can use your cell phone to
capture photos. Helpfully, they can even be used as a timer, alarm, calculator and more! For
calls you can choose whether you want it to ring or just vibrate. The reason you may choose
the vibration is because you might be some place where it would be embarrassing if your
phone started loudly ringing like a fire alarm when all was supposed to be quiet. If you want to
search information you can watch things on the internet. Playing games might be one thing
which people enjoy, too. Cell phones can be very useful items.
Cell phones can make many problems for people. From having your phone sound
drastically too loud, you even can damage your hearing. Cancer can be caused because of
radiation. Ignoring too much bright light, you can harm your eyes. One thing which phones can
do is distract you from work. Miserably enough, if there is lots of motion like games and videos,
it can lead to dizziness. Sometimes the light and noise can annoy people. The problems cell
phones can make are not good or healthy, so staying off them unless needed is beneficial.
Never get rid of your phone! Wonderfully, they are small and can fit in most pockets.
The uses of them are fun and mostly practical. Watching carefully, which is good, you should
be less likely to have problems. Amid all the things that you can do with your cell, one of the
most important things is that you can communicate with them, because that’s what they were
made for! When emergencies happen to people who live faraway, they will hopefully be able
to get hold of you. Even though they can cause problems, always keep your phone somewhere
near.

My name is Joseph Colavitti. I am a 15-year-old guy from Pennsylvania. I am an active member
of the Boy Scouts of America, where I am just one short step from the rank of Eagle Scout. The
Boy Scouts has taught me a lot over the years, and my Scoutmasters have helped me to realize
that I would like my future career to be in the United States Marine Corps. I also run varsity
track for my local high school, where I compete in the 100 meter sprint, triple jump, and long
jump. I love to ski in the winter, and in the summer I can be found in the woods or by any pond
or river fishing. The rolling hills of Pennsylvania and the freedom of this country have given my
everything I could ask for.

An Amazing and Complex Mammal

Quietly, they slink through the black woods. As the deer senses a hidden being behind
him, a sense of dread quickly overcomes him because of his natural instincts. He turns in time
to see the shadows themselves leaping for him. Fascinatingly, these shadows are Gray Wolves,
who are the ninjas of the forests. With great knowledge and instincts, these wolves know that
they must stick together in packs or perish. They have a large habitat that ranges all over. Gray
Wolves have interesting eating habits, since they must adapt to whatever food they can find.
Communication is very important in all aspects of life. Interestingly, all animals rely on
communication for survival. The feared Gray Wolf especially needs communication to go
through its daily tasks, which are hunting and living an organized pack life. It relies on the tool
of communication to hunt and even survive because organization is key. It uses different kinds
of communication, such as different vocalizations, and a variety of howls and barks. When a
wolf deploys a bark, usually this is a sign of dominance. It adeptly deploys communication in the
fields of hunting and pack life, as well as many others, but with these being the most important.

Wolves are experts at communication. When the conditions are right, their eerie call
can be heard for miles around. This call is used to rile up the pack as a hunt is about to
commence. These howls are also used for pack organization in the heat of a hunt. Interestingly,
young pups are the only ones that yip before they are fully developed, because their voices
haven’t grown yet. Growls are only used by the alpha male and beta female. Barks are strictly
used to establish hierarchy, which we will talk about later.
Wolves are extremely accomplished hunters. They feed only on meat, which they
skillfully hunt down in groups of 6-10 animals. When hunting, even though they hunt in packs,
they must be careful to not get kicked, as they could be severely injured and die. Fascinatingly,
these amazing animals can sprint at around 38 miles per hour for as long as twenty minutes!
After this though, one animal can eat at least 20 pounds of meat in one go. The pups will stay
behind during this because they are young and need to be protected. Older members who
watch the pups also stay behind.
Wolves have an extremely organized social life. In a pack, there is one alpha male, and
one beta female, because then there are few struggles for power. The lowest ranking wolves
are called omegas. Surprisingly, the alpha and beta are the only wolves that breed and have
pups, which helps to keep the pack population balanced. Since sometimes there is a shortage of
wolves, sometimes subordinates will breed as well. There are 6-10 adult wolves per pack. One
pack has a territory of about 12 miles, as they are very territorial. These awesome animals must
cooperate to survive.
Fascinatingly, communication lies as a very important part of a wolf’s life, which is a
complex topic. Wolves communicate adeptly all day, because survival depends on it. As
communication is a complicated act, the most significant is how they communicate with a wide

range of vocals. This is because communication is a very complex skill that some humans can
have trouble with. It is quite frankly amazing that animals could be as adept at communication
as they are.
Wolves happily live in a very interesting climate. Fascinatingly, their habitat is extremely
diverse, since these animals reside all over. As the characteristics of their habitat can vary a lot,
wolves are extremely adaptable. The history of their habitat and where they used to populate is
sad, because they used to roam places in which they don’t now.
As one of the most diverse mammals, wolves exist in a wide-ranging habitat. There is
currently an effort to reintroduce wolves into the USA in large numbers. This is sometimes a
problem, however, because of the size of a single wolf pack’s territory, which encompasses 12
miles. Wolves already live all over the world, however. Wolves range from all North America, to
Europe and Asia. Sadly, their habitat is slowly being destroyed, as we are cruelly cutting down
forests. As we cut down their forests, we are forcing them north in the process as well. Wolves
are very diverse mammals who live in a wide-ranging habitat.
Wolves live in the most extreme climates sometimes, which some may find surprising.
As wolves are highly adaptable, they can live in the coldest northern parts of Canada and even
in the deserts of south Africa. Interestingly, a lot of where a wolf pack lives is dependent on
food availability, since wolves are forced to move to where the food is. Wolves do not live in
large numbers anywhere in the world, however, because they were almost hunted to
extinction. Sadly, their habitat is slowly being destroyed, forcing them higher north. Wolves are
animals that live in the most extreme climates.
Wolves used to roam most of North America, which is a thing of the past. As wolves
were hunted to near extinction, they fled North, and a ban was placed on hunting of them.
Sadly, most efforts to introduce wolves back into the USA failed because it was not done under
the right conditions and guidelines. Now that the reintroduction is under control, the meager
population is steadily growing, although it will be a long time before they are back in their
previous numbers. Wolves no longer roam the majority of North America.
Wolves have a fascinating habitat, since they are amazing animals. Fascinatingly, the
characteristics of their diverse habitat vary a lot, because they are highly adaptable animals.
Wolves have a long and sad history in their habitat, which is due to the errors of humans.
Although the diversity and characteristics are very important, the most important is the history
of a wolf’s habitat. This is because people need to learn from their past mistakes and be
hospitable to wolves. Wolves have a fascinating habitat.
Wolves have fascinating eating habits, because they are not picky eaters. Since they
have a wide variety of food sources, they sometimes sadly consume unsuspecting house pets,
which saddens many. Amazingly, their mouth is specifically built for the kind of eating that they
do, since they need sharp teeth for meat tearing. The eating habits of wolves are fascinating.

Wolves are extremely experienced hunters. Interestingly, they do not eat or even hunt
every day, since food is hard to find, and they do not need it. They only need to eat every few
days, which is odd for animals. When the pack hunts, a couple of older adults usually stay
behind to watch over the young, because wolves can still sadly fall to predators. The hunters
then come home and regurgitate food up for the younglings. Wolves are very experienced
hunters.
Wolves have very interesting eating habits. Interestingly, they will occasionally dine on
cattle when all other food sources are low, because that is all that is left. When all delicious
cattle, moose, elk, and deer are gone, they have been known to gnaw on cats and dogs, which
saddens some. Technically, wolves are omnivores, since if all else fails, they will actually eat
plants as a least resort. Wolves are interesting eaters.
Wolves have a mouth thankfully built for the heavy eating that they do, which sustains
them. While most animals have teeth, wolves actually have 42 teeth, since they do lots of
gnawing and crunching. They have an interlocking bite because their jaw works like a clamp and
holds anything and everything in place. They actually have flat rear teeth that are meant to
crunch through bone. Interestingly, they swallow any meat that they take whole. Wolves have a
mouth built for eating.

Wolves are interesting eaters. 5As they are very extravagant eaters, there has to be a
wide variety of places which they get their food from. Wolves have mouths specifically built for
eating. Fascinatingly, the most significant is the build of their mouths, since without that, they
would not be able to eat. It is interesting how wolves eat, because they are highly adapted.
Interestingly, wolves know that they must live in packs, which shows their intelligence
since that is a natural instinct. As wolves have a diverse habitat, they live all over the world.
Inside their mouths are specially built teeth and jaws because they have very special eating
habits. Most importantly, wolves live in large packs, because if they did not, then they would
not be able to survive as efficiently, if at all. Wolves are an amazing and complex mammal.

My name is Nathan E. I am currently in the ninth grade. I am fifteen years old. I have one
sister. I am currently home schooled. My favorite subjects are biology, history and music.
Some of my personal interests are soccer. I like to play goalie. My favorite soccer club is
FCBarcelona. They are a Spanish club that is from Spain. I like to go to church activities, such as
choir. My mom is currently the choir teacher. My sister and I sometimes play duets together; it
is really fun. I like to play violin which I have been playing for four years. I am working on “Duo
in Two” for two violins. Swimming is also very fun, and I like to do that every summer or at least
when the day is a hot day. I enjoy playing with my dog, goat, and my cat. I play fetch with my
dog, and with my cat I play chase the laser. Here is a picture of my family.

The Process of Making and Eating Tamales
We cheerfully make tamales for Christmas. It is really fun. My family does this during
the winter season every year. We make them at my grandma's house which we do every year
in the kitchen. Making tamales as a family is fun. As the tamales steam, we play games and do
other Christmas stuff. After the tamales steam, we set the table, and we eat the tamales and
savor the taste. Making tamales for Christmas is an enjoyable holiday tradition.

I love making tamales and going shopping for the supplies. Here are the steps. First you
go to the lovely Mexican store to get the masa. Then you put the ingredients into a mixer bowl.
You let the mixer do its job, which, mixes and mixes, and you have to wait. After that you put
the masa in the cornhusks of the tamales. You can put any fillings inside the tamales you like.
(But chile and cheese are the best). You steam the tamales up in a pot. I love the fun process of
making tamales.

While the tamales are baking, we do lots of fun things. We play Christmas music on the
radio. We sometimes sing with the music. We have a fun time. All of our families happily play
winter games, which are fun. We read the Christmas story in the Bible. Then we wait for the
tamales to cook. We have a fun time waiting for the tamales to cook.

We have a awesome time eating the tamales which are yummy. My grandma takes the
tamales out of the pot. My cousins and I set the table and bring the food to the neatly set table.
We put the salad and the rice on the table. We also bring the beans and the tamales and any
other stuff. My family and everyone else sits down, and we say the blessing. Then we taste the
mouthwatering food, especially the tamales. Setting the table isn't that fun, but it is the eating
part that is rewarding for all the work that we have to do.
The tamales that we make are a fun adventure. We steam the tamales in the silver pot. Eating
the tamales is the best part of the whole process. The tamales taste mouthwatering which is
delicious. The whole process is worth the work in the end. You get to eat your hard labor, and
it is rewarding. Amazingly your hunger is satisfied, and that makes for a great Christmas. We
have a fun adventure making the tamales for Christmas.

Mighty Blizzard

When I turned on the television on Monday night to watch “The Three Stooges”, I
observed the grim expression on the weatherman’s face. He was standing next to a map of the
USA, while he announced that an unexpected major blizzard was going to hit Central USA
within the next twenty-four hours. He warned the audience that in some areas, the snow could
accumulate to nearly 5 feet. He stated that winds of up to 50 mph were to be expected and
that people, who are elderly, should remain inside. Although this announcement worried my
parents, we children were terribly thrilled because we would not have school the next day and
perhaps not even the day after. We could have so much fun building snowmen, going sledding,
and making big snow forts. Although the Monday night weather was probably troublesome for
some people, it sure brought happiness to many children in the area.
After hearing the announcement, many people hurried to the stores for supplies they
needed. At the top of most people’s shopping list were batteries, non-perishable food, water,
and bread and snow shovels. All the stores were crowded because everybody had the same
idea. Worried customers, who thought that the stores might run out of supplies, began getting
pushy and cranky. With carts filled to the brim, long lines of customers formed at the busy
checkouts while the stressed cashiers tried their best to move the crowd along. Most people
were now simply longing to get back home with their supplies and settle in for the duration of
the storm.
The shoppers were surprised because the fast-moving storm arrived early and began
causing traffic problems. They were getting awfully nervous and were afraid they were going to
crash driving home from the store. The roads had already turned slippery. Drivers were
concerned that the dreadful blizzard could get worse, while they were navigating their way
home and that they might get stuck in the snow. The apprehensive motorists wished they could
be safely home to enjoy some hot chocolate in front of a blazing fire. Many people, who took
the chance to get some necessary shopping done, got caught in the mighty blizzard.

The General

George Washington slowly shaped the USA. He led us in the Revolutionary War. During
which he commanded the general army because he was very trusted by the people. He was the
Constitutional Convention president. He was also a sincere president of the USA

Washington was a great wartime leader. He wanted to avoid war but if they would not
give their rights he was going to give his all. He spent money and time making war plans
although it was not fun. He was trusted so much that he was unanimously elected as the
general. He also refused to accept the $500 monthly pay because he also shared the misery
that his soldiers had, and he stayed with them not in a fancy house. He was very respected by
the soldiers.

Washington was the peacemaker in the first Constitutional Convention. He was the
president of the Constitutional Convention. He kept the convention in order. The people loved
him because They knew that he would make it for them not for himself. He kept them together
very well but rarely made his opinion known as He did very well keeping the peace during the
convention.

Washington was a sincere president of the USA. He was elected unanimously as He is
the only president ever to have that happen. The people believed in him because they knew
that he would give an opinion that would be best for them. He was not afraid to veto a bill that
he thought was unconstitutional. He was a very sincere president.

George Washington was one the most prominent founding fathers because when he
was a general he cared about his troops like they were his kids. When he was the President of
the convention he nicely held the delegates together. Unselfishly he was willing to give
everything to the cause of Liberty. Which is why the people trusted him the most.

Our Faithful Leader

During the time of the French and Indian War and the American Revolution, George
Washington was one of the many people who helped shape the United States! Thankfully,
many of his contributions are still in place such as giving states equal representation. Since
George Washington served as the general of the Continental Army, he had ample experience
leading people, and because of that experience, it allowed him to better faithfully serve and
lead his people when he was both the president of the Constitutional Convention and the
president of the United States.
Undeniably, George Washington, who was the commander of the continental
Army, was a truly selfless man. He, like many people, hoped to avoid war. Although when the
time came to fight and there was a need for electing a commander in chief, Washington was
unanimously voted for the position because he was trusted by many people. Instead of
greedily taking up the position as commander in chief on for the money, he accepted the
position with humility and modesty while also declining the $500 monthly pay. He also carried
the responsibility of taking time to make plans for the army, and since he did not think himself
better than the soldiers, he shared in their misery. You can see from his actions that he truly
was a selfless man.
Despite the confusion and anarchy that had been breading out in many states,
George Washington remained prudent in his actions as the president of the Constitutional
Convention. His job, which was likely to be very stressful and tiring, was to keep the convention
together as he had done with his army. Wisely, Washington took little part in the debates being
held because he knew it was impossible to please everyone there, although he clearly did his
job since the end result of the convention was the Constitution of the United States. Many
people loved their prudent leader and were convinced that because George Washington had
approved of the Constitution, their liberties would be safe.
Despite the many hardships which George Washington faced, he faithfully upheld his
duties as president of the United States. Surprisingly, George had received a letter telling him
that he was being elected as president, and he had been done so unanimously. That shows
people trusted him greatly because of his sincere words and deeds. He did what was best for
his country by becoming president. Since George was the very first president, he knew that he
would be an example for others to come and that his decisions would be closely scrutinized.
Although Washington was in a seat of power, he knew he could not make every decision alone,
so he picked the best men he could find to be his advisors. In March, Congress had passed a bill
that was to raise the number of U.S. representatives from 67 to 120. However, Washington
believed the bill was unconstitutional. He wanted each state to be represented equally. His
many decisions show why he was not only well respected, but that he was indeed sincere and
faithful in his duties as president.
Despite the many trials, hardships, and ward that George Washington went
through, he still remained a caring and unselfish leader that many people today keep closely to
their hearts! Truly, he was a wonderful man who not only cared for his men, but for his

country. And while others bickered and fought, he held the Constitutional Convention
together. Because George was the very first president, he has, and still will, set an example for
many people and presidents to come. George Washington will not only be remembered as an
inspiration, but as a great commander and president.

Amazing Structures of the World

The Tower of London is one of the most historic places to go and see. This amazing
place has high walls and towers surrounded by a moat, which was its defense during the
Middle Ages. There are many types of building including the house for royalty as well as the
jail. The men who protect this place are proudly nicknamed the beefeaters. There has been
quite a few popular people that have been sentenced to the tower including King Edward
and the Duke of York, because of their treachery against the people . Today the famous
crowns and jewels of England are retained safely there and are on display. The Tower of
London serves an interesting purpose and has an unusual history.
The Eifel Tower is considered one of the seven wonders of the world. When
construction first commenced and the iron beams went up, people first thought that it
looked like a colossal skeleton, which resulted in many unhappy people. After the tower
was finished, people changed their minds fortunately, and it was said that it looked like a
tower of lace. This structure isn’t just for show because it holds TV antennas that broadcast
programs all over Paris, and it holds the record for the highest hotdog stand in the world.
But the best part is when it’s lit up in the night. This is why, the Eifel Tower is one place to
put in the bucket list to see.
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is one of the most popular places too. This tower is extra
special for its ability to lean against nothing. Unfortunately, the tower is closed due to the
danger of it collapsing because of inadequate foundation quality. The bells have also been
closed in fear of it falling faster. If it were to be open, you could climb the stairs of a 700-
year-old building with one of the most amazing views in the world. This is why the Tower of
Pisa is one of the seven wonders of the world.

The Emperor’s New Suit

The title of this story is “The Emperor’s New Suit.” which is a short story. It is a Danish
tale, because it develops a lesson. The
author of this story is Hans Christian Andersen, which is a fabulous author. It was officially
published by C.A. Reitzel on April 7th, 1837. Although you can read this as a separate story, it is
also part of The book Fairy Tales Told for Children. The photo in this story is a black and white
illustration of the parade.

The author explains how the story takes place in a Medieval, joyful city. There also a
selfish and greedy emperor who greatly
loves clothes, because his goal was to always be well dressed. There are also the swindlers in
the story, which lie and steal. The emperor wanted the people to weave cloth for him. The cloth
was invisible to the emperor, since the swindlers explained how it cannot be seen by the people
who are unworthy and stupid.

There is a problem in the story, which is that the emperor was not rightly fit to rule. The
weavers were successful with lying. The emperor asked the weavers to prepare him a fancy
suit. Because they were very deceitful, the weavers asked for money so they could pretend to
weave. Although the people couldn’t see the cloth, they were proud and did not admit that.
The emperor decided to wear the suit at the parade.

The story leads us to the parade, which at first everyone is praising the emperor’s
clothes. Then a child spoke up and told the
truth. He advised the emperor that he had nothing on, which would be very embarrassing. He
did this because he did not know any better and was not proud of himself like everyone else.
Then what happened was everyone ashamedly admitted it, probably since they didn’t want to
get punished by the emperor. The emperor finally realizes that he is not fit for the office,
because all he worried about was clothes and was a proud man. Even though that occurred, the
emperor still decided to finish the parade, since he isn’t a quitter.

There are many things that make this story so impressive. One reason why is because
the emperor was tricked, which was kind of dumb for him to fall for it. Some of you may like
suspenseful stories. Although it isn’t suspenseful, it still might be a story that you’d definitely
like! This story is not modern, which might not be familiar to some people. This story also
represents a good lesson on how not to be selfish and proud. This story also fairly portrayed the
characters. Also it was humorous how the swindlers pretended to work in the story. They also
lied, which was not very funny, but in the end they finally confessed.
