Warm Up!!
Students will run two laps around gym then
proceed to stretches. Students will stretch their leg
and arm muscles during this process.

Toilet Tag
Objective/Rules: There will be two people that are “it” everyone else in the class
will scatter. Once a student is tagged he/she must assume a toilet position and
must remain frozen in that position until a untagged student flushes the clogged
toilet. The last student to be tagged wins!
Fitness Components Developed: Body awareness; Locomotive
Equipment needed: none
Space Requirements: Full court
Safety Tips: Tag the person, do NOT push them, Keep your head up when
running
Duck, Duck, Goose
Objective/Rules: One student will walk around around gently patting each
student on the head or shoulder while calling each one “duck”. Once the chosen
student keeps walking around the circle and says “goose” when tapping a
student, that student must then stand up and run around the circle to tag the
person who tapped them before they sit back in their spot. If the designated
“goose” doesn’t tag the person who was “it” they are then “it”.
Fitness Components Developed: Muscular Strength, Decision-making
Equipment needed: none
Space Requirements: half of the basketball court
Safety Tips: Be cautious of body due to students running around the circle, as a
“goose” be aware of the students sitting in the circle while running.
Simon Says
Objective/Rules: One student will be designated “Simon” and the other students
will stand in front of simon and tell them what they must do. However, the
students can only do it if the command starts with “Simon Says”. If the command
doesn’t have those words before and a student does it then that student is out.
Last person standing wins!
Fitness Components Developed: Listening ability, Attention span, and
concentration
Equipment needed: none
Space Requirements: Half court
Safety Tips: Make sure that the “Simon’ makes sure he/she remembers to pay
attention to what their having the students say or do.
Four Square
Objective/Rules: The object of the game of four square is to eliminate players in higher squares so
that you can advance to the highest square yourself. Four square is played with a rubber playground ball
on a square court with four players, each occupying a quarter of the court. The ball is bounced between
players in squares until a player makes an error and is eliminated. Eliminated players leave the court, all
players advance to fill the empty squares, and a new player joins at the lowest ranked square. The way
to get out is to catch, kick, or hit the ball. Also, the ball has to hit the square at
least ONCE in the targets square!!!!
Fitness Components Developed: hand and eye coordination
Equipment needed: bouncy ball
Space Requirements: Half Court or 4 squares with enough room for each player
to play
Safety Tips: Do not throw the ball at anyone.
Horse Basketball
Objective/Rules: The first person to shoot can pick anywhere to shoot from on
the court. If student one makes the shot student two must then attempt to make
the shot in the same spot, if student to misses it they get the first letter to start
off spelling “HORSE”. The game only ends once the first student spells out horse.
The student who makes the most shots and doesn’t have to spell out the word
“HORSE” wins.

Space Requirements:Half court
Safety Tips: Be careful when shooting the ball to make sure no one gets hit
Farmer Farmer
Objective/Rules: Students will line up on one side of the gym and yell “Farmer,
Farmer can we cross your golden bridge?” There will be two farmers in the
middle their objective will be to tell the students they can only cross if they have
a certain color on. If the farmers say the color clothing you have on then you
must try to make it to the other side of the gym without being tagged. If you are
tagged then you are a farmer. Last person not tagged is the winner.
Fitness Components Developed: quick feet, locomotive, endurance
Equipment needed: none
Space Requirements: Half court
Safety Tips: Students must always be aware of what’s going on. Farmers must
gently tap students they should not push.
Tic Tac Toe
Objective/Rules: There will be two teams. The first person in the line for the two
teams will play rock, paper, scissors, to see who gets to go stand in a hula hoop
first the winner gets to go stand in a hula hoop while the loser goes to the back of
their line. The first team that gets three in a row is the winner.
Fitness Components Developed: locomotive, speed, body structure
Equipment needed: Hoola Hoops
Space Requirements: Half court
Safety Tips: Make sure no one gets hit with the bean bags while tossing them
Musical Hula Hoops
Objective/Rules: This is just like musical chairs except there are no chairs so no
sitting. As music plays students will walk around the hula hoop circle until the
music stops then students will need to find an empty hula hoop to stand in. If a
student doesn’t get into a hula hoop then they are out. Last one left wins!

Equipment needed: hula hoops
Space Requirements: half court
Safety Tips: be careful when walking around hula hoops and not tripping on hula
hoops and falling
Crab Soccer
Objective/Rules: Teams will be divided into two groups with goalies. Students
will get in the crab position on the floor and try to kick the ball into their goals.
Students MUST NOT use their hands! The team that gets the most goals wins!
Fitness Components Developed: eye-foot coordination, teamwork
Equipment needed: kickball, cones, penny jersey’s
Space Requirements: Full Basketball court
Safety Tips: Try not to kick anyone in the face with your foot or the ball.
Capture Football
Objective/Rules: The Objective is to steal more footballs than the other team.
Students will have 3 footballs on each side of the gym. They also will have flag
belts on so that if they were to get the football and the opposing team wants to
make sure you don’t take the ball back “home” they will pull the flag from that
students waist. The students trying to capture the balls are trying to steal them
from the “cop” that is watching the ball that’s in “jail’ and take it back to the
other side of the court. Once all three footballs are captured that team wins!

Equipment needed: footballs, flag belts, cones (jails)
Space Requirements: Full basketball court
Safety Tips: no stiff arming, no pushing, NO TACKLING!!
Capture the Flag
Objective/Rules: Students will be divided into two teams there will be one flag on
each side of the gym. The objective is to capture the other teams flag while trying
to protect yours. The first team that captures the flag wins!
Fitness Components Developed: locomotive, muscular endurance, coordination
Equipment needed: flag, cones
Space Requirements: Full Court
Safety Tips: keep your eyes up so that you do not run into another student
Rock Paper Scissors
Objective/Rules: Everyone will get a partner once you are infront of your partner
you will place your hand in a ball on top of your other hand. The two partners
will say “rock, paper, scissors, shoot” in unison when both partners say “shoot”
each partner will display which item they chose.
Rock > scissors , Paper > rock, Scissors > paper

Space Requirements: Half court
Safety Tips: Have good sportsmanship, don’t be a sore loser!
