• The verb can be singular or plural, depending on the subject.

Sentence in the Affirmative
Fill in the blank with the correct present simple tense of the verb provided.
Sample Comment
1. Daniel a book Here, the sentence (in the affirmative) shows an

Since the subject ‘Daniel’ is singular, the verb ‘reads’
in the singular is used.
Answer: Daniel reads a book a day.

Since the subject ‘earth’ is singular, the verb ‘rotates’
