Thank you for taking a moment to learn how Foods Alive sprouted to life and about the artisan crafted products that
we produce.

Ellen and Michael first encountered flax crackers back in 1999 while visiting Creative Health Institute in Union City,
Michigan, now called Vibrant Health Institute. Michael fell in love with the health benefits of such an awesome tasting
cracker and this inspired Ellen to recreate it in her own kitchen.

She began making flax crackers for her family and even her grandchildren loved them! As Ellen continued making flax
crackers, she let her creativity shine with new combinations of flavors. These organic, gluten free, high fiber crackers
became such a hit with the family that we all agreed they must be shared with the world!

So, in the middle of 2002, Foods Alive was created and Ellen and Michael hired their oldest son, Matt to help start the
business. After more than 13 years of operation, Matt has shown that without his dedication and indispensable talents,
Foods Alive would not be what it is today. Matt’s wife Tammy, a Holistic Lifestyle Advisor, also helped to create our
awesome line of Superfood Salad Dressings and has been a great health coach to all of us.

We introduced our first certified organic flax cracker in four awesome flavors: Original, Italian Zest, Mexican Harvest and
Maple & Cinnamon. By using only the finest certified organic, non-GMO, gluten free, vegan and kosher ingredients, we
created a simple yet healthy whole food snack that everyone could enjoy. We started offering our flax crackers to
retailers and it didn’t take long for our snacks to start flying off the shelves of natural food stores across the country.

In 2006, we bought an oil press from Germany and introduced our very own artisan cold-pressed golden flax oil. We
also introduced hemp oil and our first two superfood salad dressings. Our oils and dressings have always been the
freshest and best tasting on the market and they consistently beat the leading brands in blind taste tests. These
superfood dressings are so healthy that using them on one salad a day may provide you with all of your Omega-3’s.
What better way for finicky children and adults to get their EFA’s.

Today, Foods Alive continues to be an innovative leader when it comes to producing truly healthy foods and no one
quality controls incoming organic seed the way that we do. Please check out the quality of our flax oil on page 3. We
now offer numerous flavors of flax crackers and superfood salad dressings, artisan cold-pressed oil from flax, hemp, chia

Artisan Cold-Pressed Oils

All of our Artisan Cold-Pressed Oils are carefully crafted in small batches at a very low temperature on
our own special oil press.

Why do we have the best tasting oil? It’s simple– we receive samples of certified organic seed from
several farmers and press each sample into oil, then we taste each sample to find the freshest, lightest
and purest tasting one.
