COCHLEAR IMPLANT
My grandson, Moin, was diagnosed at the age of six months. We
were completely shattered. Dr. Shaukat Malik from MMI then
advised regarding the Cochlear Implant. God has truly blessed us
through the hands of these doctors and I will forever pray for them.
Today, my child's device has been switched on by the Grace of

My daughter, Mohaddesa, is 20 months old and was diagnosed at
13 months. The doctors at MMI suggested the Cochlear Implant to
us. Today, three months after the surgery, the device has been
attached to her ear. She is responding to it and would hear and
speak by the Grace of God. I am immensely happy.

This is about a successful story of a Neurosurgery Department, a case of a Annual Report 2019

speech along with unconsciousness condition for one month. She was
from a middle-class family and couldn’t a ord the high cost of the

The entire family was su ering and going through a trauma. She was
brought to MMI Hospital in a completely unconscious state and unable to
speak.
Dr. Muhammad Muza ar Uddin, Neurosurgeon and Head of Department of
Surgery, MMI Hospital, admitted her under his supervision and did her brain
surgery and professionally manage the complete case. After the successful
surgery, a huge brain tumor was removed which is clinically known as
Meningioma.
After the operation, she successfully regained her power on the right side
and fortunately, her speaking power has also been completely recovered
and she returned to her family and to start spending a normal happy life.
Her family, especially kids are very happy and blessed to see her alive
amongst them.
Her successful operation was done with the help of the welfare
department as the family was unable to bear the complete cost of the
treatment. It is also pertinent to mention here that we are o ering the
neurosurgery services at the lowest rates in the city and providing

The Board of Governors of Memon Health & Education Foundation is proudly presenting the hospital’s
performance report during the period of July 2018 to June 2019.
The growing volumes of the patients in all the departments is the indication of the patients trust on the
hospital’s services. We are also in process to develop closer relationship with the corporate patients in order to
provide accessibility to the workforce which is the most important segment of the country.
We are developing a strategic partnership with several other hospitals, laboratories, welfare organizations and
community organizations whereby we are o ering our best medical services to their patients, both inpatients
as well as outpatients.
Some of the activities we’ve engaged in last year are:
• Medical camps are arranging for the deserving patients. The patients received consultants’ free advice
which helps them to evaluate their health status and to take immediate measures for the management of
their diseases. We are receiving a tremendous response and large number of patients are attending in every
camp and appreciating the hospital’s management for arranging these useful free camps.
• We are producing and distributing brochures on various diseases.
• We are increasing the number of Corporate clients in the panel list which is important for the promotion of
the hospital and to increase the revenues. We are introducing new techniques and giving the priority to the
corporate clients through better services, the function has been performed by the Marketing department.
• Producing quarterly newsletters which include information about the events, services, employee of the
month, employee engagements, health articles on diseases and other useful information. We have started
the Urdu language section in the newsletter in which the articles, events and the services are
communicating in our national language.
• Continually updating the website and the social media by posting events, resources, links, news, health
awareness articles, brochures etc about the services and the documentaries. The site has proven to be a
great information and communication tool for the hospital. We are always open to feedback on what we
post and encourage you to let us know about other kinds of information that might be useful for the
masses.
• We are actively involved in the planning and organizing of events and workshops and we are grateful to the
many guests and delegates who set aside time to attend these events. The shared learning and networking
