What we will go through The history of Rutherford A short introduction to Ernest Rutherford 01 His atomic model 02 His gold foil experiment 03
A into of Rutherford (Ir)Relevant facts Ernest Rutherford was born in New Zealand on 30th August 1871 and dies on October 19, 1937 Ernest Rutherford discovered the nucleus of the atom in 1911 Ernest Rutherford postulated the nuclear structure of the atom, discovered alpha and beta rays. He received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1908 He married Mary Georgina Newton 1900-1937
His Atomic Model How it works Rutherford's experiment showed that atoms consisted of a thick mass surrounded by space, further considered the nucleus. The experiment showed that the nucleus is very heavy, and dense positive charge particles are present. The model is described the atom as a tiny, dense, positively charged core called a nucleus, in which nearly all the mass is concentrated, around which the light, negative constituents, called electrons, circulate at some distance, much like planets revolving around the Sun.
Gold Foil Experiment Atoms and elements Rutherford model and Bohr model are models that explain the structure of an atom. Rutherford model was proposed by Ernest Rutherford in 1911. 01 Bohr model was proposed by Niels Bohr in 1915. Bohr model is considered as a modification of Rutherford model. 02 The main difference between Rutherford and Bohr model is that Rutherford model does not explain the energy levels in an atom whereas Bohr model explains the energy levels in an atom. 03
