DEFINITIONS

Returning Family: An immediate family that currently has students enrolled in classes at Zavirukha Ukrainian Dance
School in the most current dance season.

Immediate Family: For the purposes of registration an immediate family is limited to the singular family unit (for
example: Mother, Father, Son, Daughter etc...) This does not include first or second cousins etc…

New Family: A family which is brand new to the school and has not attended classes in the most current dance season.

REGISTRATION FOR RETURNING FAMILIES

Returning families are eligible to register for the next dance season for students from their immediate family (this
includes immediate family members who are “new” students) on:

Wednesday May 15, 2019 (Registration, Costume Return & DVD Pick-Up)
5:30 – 7:00 PM
1500 Day Street (All Saints Hall)

If a returning family does not register on the above date there is no guarantee that there will be class space available as
new families are eligible to register as of May 22, 2019. Thank you for your understanding!

REGISTRATION FOR NEW FAMILIES

We are always excited to welcome new families to Zavirukha Ukrainian Dance School; however this is dependent on the
number of “spaces” available in each class. On May 20, 2019 the number of available “spaces” in each class will be
posted on our website. New families will be eligible to register students from their immediate family on a first come,
first served basis on:

Wednesday May 22, 2019
Door Open at 5:30 (Back Parking Lot Door)
Registration on a First Come-First Serve Basis from 6:00 – 7:00 PM
1500 Day Street (All Saints Hall)
Please enter through the back Parking Lot Door Entrance.

GENERAL REGISTRATION NOTES

• Our dance season runs from September to May.
• Online registration is not available.
• All families must fill out the Registration Form in its entirety along with Parent/Guardian signature.
• Payment is due at the time of Registration (CASH OR CHEQUE) - please see the Registration Form for more

details on payment plans. If you select Payment Plan 2 – 2 (two) cheques are due at the time of registration.

• Wait Lists for classes will be created as it becomes necessary – this information will also be posted on our
website.

• Placement is at the discretion of the Artistic Director and is based upon age, ability and enrollment.

description of all classes. The Final Schedule will be communicated to all registered families over the summer.

*Mama & Me/Tato & Me: all students are required to have a parent /guardian/delegate attend and participate in
class with them from September – November. From December – May students will become more independent and the
parent/guardian/delegate will no longer be required to attend class and participate with their child. This class will
participate in the Year End Concert but not in the Manitoba Ukrainian Dance Festival.

**Enrichment Class: is for students age 12 – 18 (must be age 12 by September 1). This intensive class is for serious
and committed dancers only. It is strongly recommended that potential students have previous dance experience
(Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, etc...) before they decide to Audition. All potential students must pass an Audition (even if
students already dance at Zavirukha). We encourage dancers to take this class in addition to another age appropriate
class at Zavirukha, however we do understand that scheduling may be an issue – please speak to Jenn Doroniuk directly
if would like to discuss the option of just taking the Enrichment Class.

NOTE: Due to the level of the class, students who pass the Audition are not permitted to miss more than 3 classes
throughout the season.

Enrichment Class Auditions will be held for Returning & New Students on:

Audition Starts at 6:00 – 7:00 PM
Doors Open at 5:45 PM
1500 Day Street (All Saints Hall)
Please enter through the back parking lot door.

***Adult Ukrainian Dance: register for 1 or both blocks – the choice is yours!
Block 1 (Fall) will run from October – December with a TBD performance.
Block 2 (Winter) will run from February – April with a performance at the Year End Recital in May.
