Cooking

OMG! I love to cook. Cooking is my stress reliever. I can cook a FEAST for my family. Putting everything
together, even just going to the grocery store and getting out of my truck, and walking in makes me feel so good.
As I take my sweet time walking through every isle and choosing the ingredients gives me a HAPPY, HAPPY heart. I
love the fact that I also get time away from my loud, fun kids. They just stay home with their dad. He can handle it,
I’m not even going worry about it! Once I get home I like to make sure that my kitchen is clean, because OMG!
Who wants to cook in a dirty kitchen, right? I put away all my groceries and only leave out the things I need and I
get to preparing my master meal. My lovely kids always want to help, but “NO” I like to cook on my own. They get
mad but they will be fine, they can go and play with their toys. I mean this is my alone and happy time, I need NO
interruptions. I get to cooking and HAPPILY prepare dinner for my loving family, we all eat together at the table,
and we enjoy our delicious food. All of a sudden I hear my sweet boy say “MOM YOU ARE THE BEST COOKER EVER”
my heart melts.

Fortunately, Trip to Vegas

Fortunately, we were going to Vegas
With friends and Family.

But Unfortunately, we had to drive
15 hours to get there.

Fortunately, my best friend was
With me during the car ride.

Unfortunately, we drove during the night
and missed the scenery.

Fortunately, once we got there we were
Rested and ready to have a great time.
Unfortunately, our time in Vegas was

coming to an end.
Fortunately, my best friend took
a lot of pictures while we were there.
Unfortunately, we are in the car again

Driving back home.
Fortunately, we get to sleep, because

Our husbands are driving.

Fun Drive Home!

Again, we sit in the back seat. Long drive home,
nothing to do. Everyone is tired and not in the
mood for talking. I put on my beats and listen
to my desired music, by the time I wake up I
comprihend that our fifteen-hour drive back from Las

Vegas is over time to rest.

Becoming a foster parent

In Texas there are over 31,000 children placed into out of home placement. Why not
help those children in need if you have the qualifying resources. Some of us have the ability to
help those children to have a better future, by allowing them to come into our home and
providing them with the love and support they need. There are so many children that are taken
out of their regular home but not enough foster parents to take them in. Being a foster parent
is not easy; Texas has requirements to be a qualifying foster parent. Most important, you must
have the ability to love, understand and care for a child whom you did not give birth to. In
many cases there have been foster parents that have not provided that to the child. Some
children have been mistreated in their foster home, or if other children are in the home they
are always put last. A home study will also be done. If you want to provide the service to a child
you will need to have the space available in your home. No more than six children in a home, if
you have children of your own they will be included in the count. Children in Texas that are in
foster homes are provided with health, dental and psychological care, so that already provided
help to the new foster parents, so you do not have to worry about those needs. The state also
provides you with support and training on how to help provide the assistance necessary for that
child. Most important part of being a foster parent is that you have the satisfaction of knowing
that you are making a difference in that child’s life by providing that temporary and sometimes
that permanent care that the child needs in one of the hardest times of their life. Allowing the
foster child to know that you are there for them, and that you care about their future can make
a big impact as they are growing up. If you are not convinced by know, then you need to think
about it and see how wonderful it would be to help make a difference in a child’s life. It will not

only help the child but it will also help you, knowing that you did something amazing for
someone else can only bring happiness to your life. As Thomas Jefferson once said “I believe
that every human mind feels pleasure in doing good to another.” So maybe for once do not
think about only yourself, but about what someone else might need. Think about all the good
things you can do for that child that needs you more than ever.

I read bud not buddy and in the book it talked about bud being a foster child who lived with a family
that mistreated him. I decided to write my editorial on becoming a foster parent because to me that
related to the book I read.
