COMPOST DATES AND NEW CURBSIDE WOOD CHIPPING! Continued from above. DETAILS ON PAGE 10!
As part of the approved capital budget for 2018, a wood chipper has been purchased by the Town of Petrolia,
and staff will be offering curbside wood chipping at no charge to residents eight times in 2018. Residents are
welcome to keep the wood chips, or Town staff will collect them. To help Town staff with wood chipping,
branches can be no more than 4” in diameter, and they must be placed in a neat pile at the curb. Piles cannot
exceed 4 feet in length, 10 feet in width and 5 feet in height. Staff ask that the items placed for chipping are
placed after 4:00 p.m. the day before, but prior to 7:00 a.m. on the dates defined on page 6. There is no set
route for chipping, but each residence will be part of the two-day route.
There are no changes to curbside leaf collection for the fall, which generally takes place from October to
December, three days a week; and Christmas Tree collection the week starting December 31.
