FUNDRAISING /
PROFIT SHARE JUNE 15, 2019
DISTRICT
The Las Colinas District Family Carnival creates revenue from ticket sales, food sales, parking sales and live auction items. Profit from this event will benefit
Scouting programs in the Las Colinas District, including the opportunity to aid families who may not have the ability to pay for such programs
(“Camporships”). A percentage of the net profit (profit after expenses have been reimbursed to the District) will be set-aside for participating Units (Packs,
Troops, etc.). This will be known as the “profit-share amount.”
UNITS
Units will score points based on the number of volunteer hours they contribute to the event, and the number tickets they sold as a result of their event
marketing (flyers & posters will be provided to each Unit). The points will be converted to a percentage based on the overall number of points scored. That
percentage is what determines how much of the profit the respective Unit shall receive.
UNIT PROFIT SHARE EXAMPLE:
For sample purposes only, suppose the profit-share amount is $10,000.00. Based on the number of volunteer hours contributed & ticket sales achieved,
Therefore, out of 750 points, Therefore, based on the profit share amount of $10,000.00,
Troop 1 = 13%
Troop 1 ….. 100 points Crew 2 = 7% Troop 1 receives $1,300.00
Crew 2 …... 50 points Pack 3 = 57%
Pack 3 ….... 425 points OA = 23% Crew 2 receives $700.00
OA ……..….. 175 points TOTAL = 100%
TOTAL …….. 750 points Pack 3 receives $5,700.00
OA receives $2,300.00
TOTAL: $10,000.00
Units may also propose booths to sell items. Have your Scouts write a proposal and email to Jeff Rudner for review.
