Kolej MARA Seremban once again
opened their gates to a fresh new
batch of A-Level students. The week
was filled with briefings and
activities by the college, introducing
the newcomers to their future.
College rules and regulations,
subjects and the new syllabus,
clubs, and CSR activities were all
explained with counselor talks and
ice-breakers in between. Even
though the week was mainly
restricted to simple talks and
activities inside the confinement of
Dewan Tun Hussein Onn (DTHO for
short) due to Covid, every student
was eager to begin their journey in
KMS.

Other countries may celebrate
independence day on the day itself,
but Malaysians dedicate an entire 31
days for it. Mural paintings and a
handful of themed competitions were
held throughout the month, but 18th
of August 2020 officiated the college’s
Merdeka celebration. Beginning with
a performance not to be forgotten
entitled “DAULAT” by Eximius
Productions (available on YouTube);
followed the next day by the
beginning of the new Hijr year and
early Muharram. Waving the Jalur
Gemilang and singing our hearts out
to the patriotic songs is a tradition that
will surely never get old.

every house member was still eager
to contribute points and support
their friends. The closing ceremony

Dynamic Youth Club (DYC) had
taken a step to organise Friendship
Week in promoting excellent mental
health. The week started from
17/10/2020 until 23/10/2020. Other
than homeroom activities circling
this theme, each student was also
randomly paired and given time to
befriend their partner within the
week. The main event was held at
Dewan Selera (DS), where each
pair spent some quality time in
getting to know their new friend
face-to-face. Mental health issues
were addressed and motivational
support was given. This program
ended with every student receiving
a boost up, a catalyst letter from
their new friend.

Kolej MARA Seremban was established
in 1972, originally known as MRSM
Seremban. MARA had only been up and
running a few years prior. Many
successful generations had walked
through KMS halls, thus the 50th year
was a significant benchmark. Starting
with Yaasin and Al-Kahfi recitation to
honour the blessed day. Following the
MARA's Day video presentation, the
director, Dr Sa’aidah gave a speech,
enlightening students on the origins of
MARA. "Why are you grateful to be a part
of MARA?". This question and the
student answers which followed allowed
us to recognise how lucky we are to be a
part of this community.

The newly established English Club (later
renamed The Eunoia Circle) coordinated
modules orienting English and communication
skills, such as IELTS Madlibs, Rythmising It,
Campfire Sharing, and many more. These
activities were put into motion on the 5th to 7th of
March 2021. It was conducted in Kampung Jkin
by 10 facilitators from the club, and was joined
by 50 chosen students. Where participants
started off timid and awkward, the 3 days
provided a drastic improvement as everyone
came back with a newfound confidence. Positive
spirit and excitement are contagious, so it didn’t
take long before everyone had warmed up to
their teammates, helping each other with the
activities every step of the way. Participants
found a chance to be confident in sharing their
thoughts and opinions with a community who
wouldn’t judge and were eager to listen; suitable
with the camp’s slogan, “Stand up, speak up”.

college’s 3 in 1 program; Khatam Al-Quran,
Iftar Perdana, and also Majlis Restu in
conjunction with the upcoming A-Level
examinations. Beginning around Zohor,
students, lecturers, and staff gathered in
DTHO to perform prayers and solat hajat
together. The projector allowed the entire
hall to see the parents through the screen
as they joined along digitally for the
speeches by the parents’ representative,
president of the Students Representative
Council, and also from our director, Dr

It was a whole new experience for the
students to celebrate Eid al-Fitr in the
college instead of their hometown due
to the COVID-19 pandemic. The day
started with Eid prayer, with only 20
students allowed to be in the mosque
due to safety concerns. However, the
students still wore their best clothes as
encouraged by the Prophet
Muhammad. The Eid Feast was held
at the dining hall, traditional cuisines
such as satay, rice cubes with peanut
gravy, a myriad of kuih raya, and
many more were served. Despite not
being with family, this warm
celebration had been an emotional
support for the students as they took
pictures and learnt to appreciate Eid in
a different light.

Some things in life are just meant to be unseen,
Though reticently it is an absolute disgrace to one,
For when the whole world is falling apart,
Through smooth and grids all alone,
Craving perfections, impossible perfections,
Fighting for the abandoned rights and unheard
screams,
War of faiths, directions and minds,
Needs and wants all neglected,
Taking risks of aching hearts,
Every vital now seems unimportant,
Questions engulfing thoughts,
Yet people could still breathe fine?
Afterall, some things in life are just meant to be

Good Vibes
WRITTEN BY NURIN NASUHA FT1.1
Good vibes aren't only pastel colours But you're smiling underneath your raincoat,
And dainty books of poems as you see through the blizzard
Not pearls and laces in aesthetic feed Cause there's always home
Neither a few cups of jasmine tea A warm meal waiting inside
The essence and core are reliability
And dusted with freedom to cry without The home is a person or persons
judgementality That you can always come back to
That you can always say to them
You might be a goth, an all black advocate 'I can count on you'
But you can still wipe your friend's tears
You can still hold them in your arms The meal is their words, comforting as dew
Listen to their pain in silence Don't care if theirs as harsh as thunders
Till they sleep, now feeling much, much better Or as soft as butterfly wings
Their hugs, their nagging
You can be a frantic overachiever Carves a small smile of relief
With tons of class to catch Over your face, then was stroked with tears,
But you can still send some texts to those you care Now is glowing radiantly
Offer some major to minor help
College applications advice, Find your own good vibes
Notes for their debate with parents about choices of Your home and meal
course, The internet may cloud your quest
Therapy session booking, Because self-care is not just from Lush stores
It's gathering sleepy friends after the party Or at the counter of French cafes and bakeries
To catch the cab home It's not just honey gel face masks
By that one motherly friend, exhausted but amused Or sparkling water in a tall glass
In the frozen time of the self care Instagram feeds
Good vibes isn't swimming in rainbows and
diamonds Because healing is a war
Because life doesn't work like that And good vibes are the aid
Because you're trying to heal your head The weapons of war must be good
Healing is painful But, they don't have to be pretty
Healing is a long storm
Having a source of good vibes is more like
Walking through the storm
