the outdoors. If one thing is
certain, it is the fact that as
Americans, we love our air
conditioning. Over 85% of
Americans have their homes and business fitted with AC units, their cars are
air-conditioned as well so why not something that can go with you anywhere
you go. We present Zero Breeze AC unit complete review.

Never Heard of Zero Breeze?

The Zero Breeze is a portable
cooling system that is battery
operated and can go with you
anywhere you want to go. Its
batteries can be interchanged
with each charge providing up to
5 hours of cool and refreshing
air- while simultaneously

dehumidifying the air.

Originally designed as a compact AC unit mainly for camping, many users
are now finding the product great for dorm rooms, small cabins, vehicles,
tailgating and more.

The Zero Breeze makes for a great companion when at the beach as it's great
outside just as it is inside. If you are wondering if it's even worth getting, then
let's take a deeper look.

The Zero Breeze Portable AC Mode of Operation

The Zero Breeze is compressor based which means compared to other portable
AC units out there, the Zero Breeze stands out as a true air conditioner.
The Zero Breeze is portable because of its 12V battery although with the “Plus”
version of the product the battery doesn't come with it but has to be bought
separately instead. The standard unit comes with an AC/DC adapter that
enables the unit to be plugged into a wall outlet or in a car.

The 12V battery used by the Zero Breeze is becoming more popular with small
appliances like lawn mowers, leaf blowers, etc. Most of the similar products
have 12V batteries that can be easily swapped with one another.
Note however that Zero Breeze Smart Battery only works on the Zero Breeze.
The battery runs for 5 hours and charges from empty to full within 5 hours as
well, so if you'll be camping overnight, a second battery on standby for longer
usage might be necessary.

Where Can You Use the Zero Breeze Air
Conditioner?

Tent Camping

Tent campers need their AC
units. No one wants to go
camping and be feeling hot and
sticky through the night. The
Zero Breeze is a great camping
appliance because there is no
need to hook to a power source
except if you need to recharge.
However, you might have to connect the exhaust pipe so it vents out of the
tent, If not, the unit's backside will only blow hot air back into your already
tight and enclosed space defeating the need for it. What's worse? The
condensation finds nowhere to escape through, and you might wake up in a
pool of water caused by the dehumidifier. The venting kit must be used if you
want to avoid any of these.

Cabins

For electrically connected cabins,
it would be very wise if the Zero
Breeze is plugged into a standard
outlet instead of on batteries,
however, don't expect a general
cooling of the cabin from the
small unit.
The Zero Breeze wasn't designed
to cool large areas of space. At 1,100 BTUs, it can only cool about 50 square
area. The whole cabin might not be cooled, but on a hot summer's night, it
could be a friendly coolant by your bed. Keeping it plugged in and charging will
ensure you have portable cooling appliance ready if the power happens to go
out.

Trucks/Car

With the 12V battery, using the
Zero Breeze for short periods at
a time would be a good idea.
moreover, most cars already
have an AC unit to keep the car
cool when running on battery.
The Zero Breeze enables you to
enjoy AC in times such as waiting
in the carpool line, grabbing lunch or taking a quick nap in your car on a work
break. However, if your vehicle is warm and you have a pet in, do not leave the
pet with the Zero Breeze in the car. It is not recommended to use it for such
purpose.

Outdoors

You can use the Zero Breeze outdoors. It can be used outside whether at the
beach or at the backyard due to its smart battery. You might have to choose a
version with a little different spec considering that the unit has to work harder
to cool the surroundings and the cold air escapes faster. To truly enjoy the
Zero Breeze outdoors, it is best to use it under a shade and close to the area
you are looking to cool.

Charging

As mentioned before, Zero Breeze smart battery is not included in the main
model unless with the Plus model. You can purchase smart batteries
separately but it cannot be interchanged with other battery models. For it to
charge fully, the battery needs to be charged for 5 hours. If you have plans to
have batteries as your main power source, it is best you get two.

Set Up & Usage

Setting up the Zero Breeze is not difficult as the unit is ready to
go from the minute you get it out of the box. However, many users
don’t take the condensation pipe/exhaust seriously. While it is not
mandatory to use it, it is important to use the vent pipe, because it is the
only way condensation can be redirected from it or else a puddle forms
around the Zero Breeze.

Noise Levels

The Zero breeze noise level is between 55 and 65 dB depending on the setting
you are using. Most portable air conditioners fall between 50 and 60 dB which
is why the Zero Breeze though being a little higher up than that, is not too
much louder.

Cooling Capacity (measured in BTUs)

The British Thermal Units or BTU is what air conditioners run on. Generally,
the a higher BTU number means greater area of coverage for the air
conditioner. For the Zero Breeze, it runs on about 1,100 BTUs covering a 50
square feet enclosed area that can get smaller with an outdoor area where
cooling air escapes easily.

Additional Features

For many people, the extra features of the Zero Breeze is what lures them.
There are two charging ports that comes with the Zero Breeze that can be use
for phones and other accessories. It also features bright LED lights which
include a nightlight and an SOS red blinking light. However, when using
additional features such as the USB port, power is consumed more and this can
reduce how long the battery runs. Some users complain of quick battery
drainage when at maximum speed while using the extra features.

Conclusion

Finally, the Zero Breeze seems to be a really great appliance if you want to
enjoy the cool air without shelling out too much on a portable air conditioner.
Already, the company producing the unit is working on the second generation
Zero Breeze which is sure to be much improved and powerful.
