Moths To A Flame, a project turning calls for urgent
action on the Climate Emergency into a magnificent
mass-participation art installation at COP26, Glasgow
2021. The moth is a metaphor for our relationship with
energy, and the project springs from the desire to
respond with creativity to the Climate Emergency. When
we act on our own, our actions can feel too small, when
we act as communities, we can make a real difference.
Our whispers of hope can become a ROAR for change.
Everyone is invited to help make 20,000 moths out of
plastic milk bottles, and record messages for COP26
delegates. The moths will be exhibited at the Glasgow
Botanical Garden during the COP26 and then in
Plymouth. We are also hosting a Moth Watching event.

1 tsp bouillon powder into rounds. Drain the lentils and rinse in a sieve.
200g halloumi cheese Step 8: Into the onion, stir the garlic and the harissa. Cook for 1 minute. Stir in
the lentils, bouillon powder, whole cauliflower leaves and 250ml of cold water.
Bring the mixture to a low boil and simmer for 5 mins.
Step 9: Chop the halloumi into 2-3 cm chunks. Heat a (dry) frying pan, with no
oil in it. When hot, fry the halloumi until nicely coloured.
Step 10: Stir the chopped mint into the lentils and season with salt, pepper and a
squeeze of lemon juice, all to taste.
Step 11: Serve the lentils topped with halloumi and roasted cauliflower, with
some chilli and more freshly shredded mint leaves too, if you like.

Pimm’s Lollies
Mix up your Pimm’s consumption by making these fun ice lollies,
you can guarantee they will impress guests!
Serves: 600ml which makes 8 lollies depending on the size of
your lolly moulds
Preparation time: 10 minutes plus 4 hours freezing

On Sunday 8 August, Totnes Community Totnes Community Tennis Club
Tennis Club based in Borough Park is 31
holding a big 50th anniversary celebration
and charity fundraising day.
As well as a big celebration for our club this is
also a major fundraising event. All proceeds from
the event will be donated to Lifeworks. They are
a registered charity based in Dartington, who
support families, children, young people and
adults with learning disabilities by offering a
further education college, residential care and
short breaks.
The charity ‘Bright Ideas for Tennis’, will be
providing a whole day of tennis activities led by
ex-Davis Cup players and Lucy Shuker, top UK
wheelchair tennis player.
There will also be food, drink and exhibition
displays all day. At the end of the tennis events
training will be given to our club coaches and
volunteers in the unique iPlay30 coaching
programme, designed for adults and children
with learning, sensory and physical disabilities
and for those experiencing mental ill health.
This will then kick-start an ongoing programme
of free tennis activities for students at Bidwell
Brook School and Lifeworks providing
opportunities for adults and children with
disabilities or those who are experiencing
mental ill health, to play tennis.

The event regularly raises over £10,000 for
local charities. Last year as a result of the
pandemic the race was cancelled but once
again, this revitalized event will be taking place
on Sunday 10th October this year. Billed as
the premier white water raft race in the West
Country, the course is over some 14 kms
crossing three weirs and other white-water
obstacles.
Crews from 2 to 10 per raft can take part aboard
homemade craft constructed of materials that
will not harm the environment eg rubber and
plastics that will not disintegrate.
The Finish Line Fair on Vire Island starting at
11 o’clock, will be the perfect spot to watch rafts
on their last stretch of their journey towards the
Finish Line. There will be fun and games for
all the family, delicious refreshments, lunches
and teas, an information centre providing up-
to-date progress on each raft and live music.
