Taster Days
Welcome to the start of your journey with Hinchingbrooke, we
acknowledge that this is as much a transition for you as 5th July 2018
parents/carers as it is your children. Parent Information Evening
One of the greatest strengths of the transition process lies in the 4th September 2018
communication that takes place between primary, secondary and of First day of school
course yourselves, the parents/carers.
Term Dates
Please feel free to contact us at any time after getting your offer

We have 10 form groups in each year group with 2 in each of our 5 Half Term Monday 22 October - Friday

Students are allocated to forms as an equal mix of boy/girl and primary Autumn Term closes

We do not follow the tradition of houses within families. Staff Training Day Wednesday
Students follow the pastoral programme as form groups, but are no 2 January 2019
longer taught as forms in order to allow us to offer a greater variety of

Hinchingbrooke as final confirmation of acceptance of your child’s place,
this needs to be done asap please, as this information is required before
your child attends any of the open days with us.

26th/27th June 2018 - Pre-taster day visits for smaller primaries/out of
catchment pupils and for those students with additional transition Extension 5762

3rd, 4th and 5th July 2018 - Taster Days for students. On the 3rd Medical Need Coordinator
students will either travel via bus to and from their primary or walk.
Timings of the school day are 9.30 until 2.30 pm (for any out of Extension 5762

4th September 2018 – First day of school at Hinchingbrooke for Year 7
and 12 only, on this day students will be registered for their Biometric
accounts and have their school photograph taken. Please send students
in with either cash or packed lunch for the first day or so. They will also
receive their student planner and time tables, and will find out which
MFL they are studying
During the first week of school you will receive an activation code from
our communications team to register for Parent Mail, you will then be
able to purchase a locker and pay for this via +Pay.
If you do not have a Parent Mail account a locker letter will be sent
home with your child, and payment can be made by cheque or card over
the phone
