PREFACE
This book narrates the journey of Batch 3 IIUM Mkitchen Students.
The students started the journey with in-class training on
entrepreneurship, business plan development, digital marketing,
and cash management. Then, the students had the cooking
demonstration on several food trained by trainers of mkitchen.
This batch is fortunate to have a permanent space given by the
university.

CHAPTER 1
ESSENTIALS OF MKITCHEN
Kitchen is always related with food storage, food preparation,
food serving and food consumption. Every house hold has kitchen.
The size depends on the consumption. Besides the house hold
kitchen, there are commercial, institutional and social kitchen.
MKitchen is derived from Masjid Kitchen. The idea to use Masjid
Kitchens in January 2021 was due hardship faced by many people
due to the restrictions to curb Covid-19. A few founding members
felt that Masjid Kitchens have the potential to provide food for the
needy.
While masjids were also closed the operations as part of the
restrictions to curb Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19), the kitchen
segment of the masjids can be functional as essential services to
provide food. In fact, the motivation for mKitchen was to help
optimise the function of masjid kitchens in preparing food for the
needy (similar concept of free food or soup kitchen).
The founding members approached masjid officials to consider
the Masjid Kitchen project. After some deliberations, a nearby
masjid to International Islamic University Malaysia, namely Masjid
Al-Syakirin Gombak agreed to participate in the project.

The main reason for choosing Masjid al-Syakirin is due to the
strong outreach and welfare team. The team could gather highly
motivated, competent and committed asnaf members to be part of
the project.
The kitchen crew members comprised of the needy – the Asnaf.
They were employed and to cook, distribute the food and
empowered to be asnaf food-preneurs. The fund to sustain the
mKitchen operations came from donations – from the public and
project team members.

Mkitchen operation is based on two provisions, namely:
a. Provision of budi through free, halal & toyyiban food for the
low income, poor and needy students.
b. Provision of budi through incubation for a short-term
apprenticeship and employment and at the same time up-
skilling and empowering of the interested students from the
low income, poor and needy family to become
entrepreneurs (3E) in food entrepreneurship.
Figure 1.1 shows the journey of mKitchen since January 2021.

The pioneers of the mKitchen project were motivated, inspired,
and guided by IIUM Roadmap 2021-2022. To nurture balanced
human – staff and graduates, while creating values for institutional
stability and societal wellbeing via experiential learning,
responsible research and innovation, and community
engagement.
This is relevant to the neighbouring, local, national, regional, and
global citizens. Figure 1.2 shows IIUM Roadmap 2021-2022
guiding mKitchen education with action.

mKitchen crew and partners are guided by humanizing education
through vision and mission of IIUM. The humanizing education
paradigm is guided by the Maqasid al-Shariah to protect and
preserve faith, life, intellect, lineage, and wealth.
mKitchen crew and partners protect five (5) Budi Maqasid al-
Shariah, while aligning to the Sustainable Development Goals.
Budi covers all SDG goals. Figure 1.3 depicts the humanizing
education.

mKitchen crew and partners adhere to IIUM Sejahtera Academic
Framework (SAF) and the guiding principles of empowerment,
flexibility, innovation and accountability. SAF provides guidance
and direction on how budiman are educated, trained and
developed with the foundation of Tawhid (true submission to Allah)
by preserving and protecting basic humanity in terms of faith, life,
knowledge, wealth and lineage.
These maqasid (objectives) must be protected and preserved to
assure that budiman are ready to be inculcated with the values of
IIUM. The values of IIUM are explained by the vision and mission
statements.
The vision statement stated that “IIUM is inspired by the
worldview of tawhid and Islamic philosophy of the unity of
knowledge as well as its concept of holistic education, the
university aims at becoming a leading international centre of
excellence in education, research and innovation which
seeks to restore the dynamic and progressive role of the
ummah in all branches of knowledge for the betterment of
human life and civilisation.”

There are several verbs and actions can be derived from the
vision statement.
Firstly, it is the institution itself, which is the International Islamic
University Malaysia. International denotes cross borders and
boundaries both physical and non-physical.
Secondly, it is the inspiration. An inspiration is a trigger from the
mind, the heart, and the determination. There are many sources
for the inspiration.
Thirdly, it is the worldview of Tawhid that triggered the mind,
heart and determination.
Fourthly, it is the worldview of Islamic philosophy that unites
knowledge with the concept of holistic education.
Fifthly, it is the holistic education.
Sixthly, it is the direction of the university to be a leading
international centre of excellence in core activities of higher
education which is included education, research, and innovation.
Seventhly, it is the respond to the dynamic and progressive role in
the society.

There are seven mission statements of IIUM:
Firstly:
To undertake the special and greatly needed task of
reforming the contemporary Muslim mentality and
integrating Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human
Sciences in a positive manner;
Secondly:
To produce better quality intellectuals, professionals and
scholars by integrating the qualities of faith (ʾīmān),
knowledge („ilm), and good character (akhlaq) to serve as
agents of comprehensive and balanced progress as well as
sustainable development in Malaysia and in the Muslim
world;
Thirdly:
To promote the concept of Islamisation of human knowledge
in teaching, research, consultancy, dissemination of
knowledge and the development of academic excellence in
the University;
Fourthly:
To nurture the quality of holistic excellence which is imbued
with Islamic moral-spiritual values, in the process of

learning, teaching, research, consultancy, publication,
administration and student life;
Fifthly:
To exemplify an international community of dedicated
intellectuals, scholars, professionals, officers and workers
who are motivated by the Islamic worldview and code of
ethics as an integral part of their work culture;
Sixthly:
To enhance intercultural understanding and foster
civilizational dialogues in Malaysia as well as across
communities and nations; and
Seventhly:
To develop an environment that instils commitment for life-
long learning and a deep sense of social responsibility
among staff and students.

The vision and mission statements stated the value proposition of
academic and non-academic programs that educated, trained and
developed budiman at IIUM.
The learning pillars of retaining basic human values and
developing mind, soul and talents of human through learning to be
(as human with budiman values), learning to become (budiman
with capability and integrity), then budiman to learn to live
together with other budiman and other creatures by acquiring
skills and competencies through learning to know and learning to
do (practicum).
Budiman that educated, trained, developed, and nurtured at IIUM
are supported by biah (conditions and environment) through
pedagogy, social, facilities, and support system. Figure 1.4 shows
the SAF and the Guiding Principles in educating budiman at IIUM.

Budiman are not static. Budiman are given with guiding principles
to undergo the training, development, and community
engagement programs. Budiman are given the discretion and
empowerment to decide the learning, training and development
activities, with flexibilty and innovation. However, the
empowerment, flexibity and innovation are implemented within
accountability principle.

mKitchen has formulated several programs to enhance its
visibility throughout year 2022. Figure 1.5 shows the mKitchen
programs in year 2022.

In conclusion, mKitchen is a game changer that drives multiple
sustainable development goals to give the highest benefits to the
people in terms of economics, social and environment.

MKITCHEN FOR STUDENTS
The main objective of the project is to transform the mosque as a
platform to provide free food, to up skill in food-preneurship, to
create new employment opportunities, give empowerment, and
nurture entrepreneurship (3Es) for poor and needy people in the
surrounding area of it.
The first point from the three main objectives of this project can be
further elaborated as (i) to provide free daily food to the Bottom 40
in the scheme of income (T20, M40, and B40) and asnaf (zakat
recipients, like poor and need) group around the mosque, (ii) to
employ the low income, poor and needy, and (iii) to generate
sustainable income for masjid via rental of the mosque's kitchen
facilities.
The second point focuses on developing the income generation
objective in providing sustainable income that includes the sales
of food to be collected as a donation, providing food delivery
services, and kitchen rental services.
The main objective of this project is to transform one of the key
resources of masjid i.e. kitchens (m-Kitchen) as a potential:

(a) Soup Kitchen [S.K.] (SDG2), and
(b) Job creation for B40 & Asnaf groups (SDG1, SDG4 & SDG8).
The 17 SDGs are SDG (1) No Poverty, (2) Zero Hunger, (3) Good
Health and Well-being, (4) Quality Education, (5) Gender Equality,
(6) Clean Water and Sanitation, (7) Affordable and Clean Energy,
(8) Decent Work and Economic Growth, (9) Industry, Innovation
and Infrastructure, (10) Reducing Inequality, (11) Sustainable
Cities and Communities, (12) Responsible Consumption and
Production, (13) Climate Action, (14) Life Below Water, (15) Life
On Land, (16) Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, (17)
Partnerships for the Goals. Figure 2.1 shows the 17 Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs).

The 17 SDG goals can be categorised into three principles of
sustainability, namely, economy, society, and the environment
(biosphere).
The foundation to achieve sustainability is to achieve the
environmental goals, namely clean water and sanitation, climate
change, life below water, and life on land.
The carers for the biosphere are the people and the human
society. The society-related SDGs are (1) No Poverty, (2) Zero
Hunger, (3) Good Health and Well-being, (4) Quality Education, (5)
Gender Equality, (7) Affordable and Clean Energy, (11)
Sustainable Cities and Communities, and (16) Peace, Justice, and
Strong Institutions.
As for the economy, the related SDGs are (8) Decent Work and
Economic Growth, (9) Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, (10)
Reducing Inequality, and (12) Responsible Consumption and
Production,
Figure 2.2 shows the embeddedness of three principles of
sustainability with the 17 SDGs.

The SDGs can also be mapped with the themes of SDGs, namely,
peace, people, planet, prosperity, and partnership, and also
maqasid al-shari‟ah. Figure 2.3 summarizes the five Maqasid al-
Shariah protection (hifz) with the equivalent Ps in SDGs, and the
related SDGs.

First Point Objective
The first point objective is to provide employment and income.
There are three main targets for this first point objective.
Firstly is to provide free daily food to the Bottom 40 in the scheme
of income (T20, M40, and B40) and asnaf (zakat recipients, like
poor and need) group around the mosque.
The provision of free food or known as soup kitchen is important
provision for the needy and poor who could not afford at all for
food. This group needs basic food to allow them to survive with
healthy life. If this group is not attended, they might create
unhealthy surrounding.
Ultimately, the unhealthy surrounding will lead to sickness and
diseases. The provision of free food cannot be accompanied with
shelter or accommodation for the needy group.
Secondly is to employ the low income, poor and needy. For those
low income earners might be interested to earn income that can
bring them out from the poverty. They might need to up skill
themselves with latest trade and competency. Likewise, the poor
and needy people are also need to be empowered for trade and
job that can provide them with basic needs.
Thirdly is to generate sustainable income for masjid or any
institution that sponsored employment and skill enhancement

facilities. For instance, these institutions could earn income via
rental of the mosque's or institutional kitchen facilities.
Second Point Objective
The second point focuses on developing the income generation
objective in providing sustainable income that includes the sales
of food to be collected as a donation, providing food delivery
services, and kitchen rental services.
This objective is beyond merely providing free food and basic
needs to the poor and needy. The poor and needy can participate
in the provision of free food. They can be helpers and volunteers
for the soup kitchen or free food kitchen. In the meantime, they
can also be donors and advocates to encourage donation.

CHAPTER 3
PROFILE OF TRAINERS
Trainers play an important role in achieving the objectives of
mkitchen.
Sensei Prof Dr Dzuljastri Abd Razak
Department of Finance
Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences
Sensei Prof Dr Dzuljastri bin Abdul Razak obtained his Ph.D in
Islamic Banking and Finance from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM)
or Science University of Malaysia in 2011. Prior to joining
academia, he served the banking industry for 25 years. His Ph.D
thesis won 4th placing in the National Inter-Varsity Best Thesis
(Ph.D) in 2011.
He has undertaken several research and consultancy projects
with the industry. One which was amounting to RM 70,000 with a
local bank on "Customers Perception on Gratuity Financing
Scheme."

He has completed leading a FRGS grant entitled "Abandoned
Housing Project" amounting to RM 78,000.
In 2018, he lead IIUM for a matching grant on SME with three
Indonesian universities namely Universitas Muhammadiyah
Yogjakarta (UMY), Universitas Islam Sultan Agung (UNISSULA)
and Universitas Darussalam Gontor (UNIDA). The grant was
successfully conducted by organizing a seminar in IIUM to discuss
the all the research papers presented by the four universities
including IIUM. In addition a book on the research papers from the
four universities entitled "Cross Border SMEs: Malaysia and
Indonesia." To date, he has published more than 20 articles in
refereed and index journals.
He publications has also been widely mentioned in the Academia.
He has also won several awards for his submissions in IRIIE. In
addition, he has examined more than 10 Ph.D theses and has
supervised numerous postgraduate students at Masters and PhD
level.
Sensei Dr Dzuljastri has served as the Head of Department of
Finance for 4 years and Head of Internationalization for 1 year. He
teaches Bank Management and Marketing of Financial Services at
undergraduate level and Islamic Wealth Management and Bank
Management and Operations at postgraduate level.
He is also involved in training programmes on Islamic Finance
locally as well as overseas. In addition he has been invited as

guest speaker in several countries such as Turkey, Pakistan and
Indonesia. He was Visiting scholar at the Istanbul Zaim University)
IZU in 2016. He holds professional memberships of Certified
Financial Planner (CFP), Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers
(AICB) and an accreditation panel member of Finance
Accreditation Agency (FAA). He is the Vice President of the
International Council of Islamic Finance Educators (ICIFE) and
Honorary Secretary of the World Academy of Islamic Management
(WAIM).
Sensei Prof Dr Dzuljastri is one of the lead founders of mkitchen
and has been strong advocate for mkitchen at local as well
abroad. Through mkitchen, he managed to establish strong
connection with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),
Environment-Social-Governance (ESG) financing agenda, and
social entrepreneurship with sejahtera rahmatan lil‟alamin.
His role as a scholar at the prestigious Academy of al-Syakirin is
eminent in the networking of Islamic traditional scholars and
Islamic traditional learning institutions.

Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences
He has been a Lecturer in the Faculty of Economics and
Management Sciences at International Islamic University Malaysia
since 2000. He obtained his BBA from IIUM, MBA in Management
from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and PhD in
Commerce from Murdoch University, Australia.
He teaches and researches into strategy, Islamic management,
knowledge management, social entrepreneurship and business
ethics. He is associated with the Islamic perspectives working
committees with SIRIM (a national organization in industrial
research to fulfil the industry needs by blending new innovations

Dr Hafizah Mansor
Assistant Professor
Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology
Dr Hafizah is an Assistant Professor at Kulliyyah of Information
and Communication Technology, International Islamic University
Malaysia.
Dr Hafizah has Master of Science (Computer Science - Real Time
Software Engineering) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)
and PhD in Information Security, from the Royal Holloway
University of London.
Dr Nurhafizah Mahri
Assistant Professor
Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology

Dr. Nurhafizah Mahri is an Assistant Professor at Kulliyyah of
Information and Communication Technology, International Islamic
University Malaysia. She received her Ph.D. in Electrical,
Electronic, and Systems Engineering with specializations in
biomedical signal processing from Universiti Kebangsaan
Malaysia. Earlier, she completed her M.Sc. degree in Electronic
System Design Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia and
B.Eng. in Electric-Telecommunication from Universiti Teknologi
Malaysia.
Her research area is digital signal processing, biomedical signal,
cardiac signal analysis, biometric image processing, and machine
learning. She is a part of the Pervasive Computing Brain and Brain
Development Research Group at KICT. As an early career
researcher, she has been awarded an internal grant from her
current university to conduct research - “Car Drivers' Mental
Fatigue Neuro-physiological Profiling Model” in 2021. This
research mainly integrates computational and physiological
analysis and utilizes machine learning tools.
Besides, she has an endeavor for entrepreneurship. She has
taught entrepreneurship-related courses such as Business
Fundamental, E-Commerce, and Technopreneurship since 2019.
She found excitement in digital marketing and online business
when she challenged herself to explore this area while pursuing
her Ph.D. Her dedication made her receive the Top

Entrepreneurship Educators for Highest Sales Reported Award -
10th place by EDC in 2022.
She was appointed Entrepreneurship Coordinator by KICT in 2021
for two years tenures. She organized seminars, mentored
students for Technopreneurship competitions, and managed
students' startup environments.
Along with the Kulliyyah activities, she is a member of flagships -
mKitchen and TACTIC. She has delivered a series of digital
marketing and entrepreneurship workshop to other communities.
She is multidisciplined, and she always welcomes new challenges.
For her future venture, she aims to become an expert in business
development, strategies, and tech startup.

Madam Noor Azian bt Mohd Ali
Academic Fellow
Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology
Madam Noor Azian Mohamad Ali is an academic in the Department
of Information Systems, Kulliyyah of Information and
Communication Technology, International Islamic University
Malaysia (IIUM), and project consultant in IIUM Advanced
Technologies Sdn. Bhd.
Her teaching experience is in Project Management in IT, Business
Data Communication and System Analysis and Design for
undergraduates and Mobile Communication for post graduates.
Her publications are mostly related to mobile communication and
networks. She has self- published a few books on IT project
management to support her teaching. She also teaches
Leadership and Management skills classes for IIUM
undergraduates.
Prior to joining the academic world, she was a system engineer,
head of unit, internal quality auditor, team leader, process
engineer, quality management practitioner, technical leader and
project manager involved in various technical areas. She has

handled IT projects, system planning and operational support,
specializing in telecommunication IT infrastructure and billing
projects.
She started her technical career as a system engineer at Celcom
Bhd. in 1995. Within two years, she became the team lead for the
Product Support Section and was actively involved in Quality
Management projects. She had also spear-headed technical
evaluations for networked-based customer systems from 1997 to
2005.
Next, she continued working through the ranks from system
engineer to consultant to associate principle in Development
Division in DiGi Telecommunications Sdn. Bhd. from 2005 until
2012. Here, she played various roles from being a technical expert
for a few telecommunication services systems to a technical lead
for mega projects on telecommunication network infrastructure
and billing systems.
She also holds professional certifications on ITIL v.3, Certified
Professional Requirement Engineer, Green Belt Six Sigma and
TRIZ Level 1. She is currently pursuing Post Graduate Diploma in
Integrated Knowledge in IIUM.

Tuan Haji Jamaludin Ibrahim

Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology
Tuan Haji Jamaludin Ibrahim obtained his BSc from Northern
Illinois University, Dekalb, Illinois in 1978 and completed his MSc
from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York in 1980. He
returned to Malaysia in December 1980 and took up the position of
lecturer at University Technology Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. He
became the first Head, Department of Computer Science, and
then Head of Postgraduate Studies at Institut Sains Komputer
(ISK-UTM), Deputy Director of ISK, Director of ISK and eventually
the founding Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science &
Information Systems.
He was also promoted to become Associate Professor. He
successfully grew the faculty to have yearly intake of 1000
computer students. He was awarded with the research
fellowships on Machine Translation at Fujitsu Research, Tokyo,
Japan (1989) and High Performance Computing at Cray Research

Eagan-Minnesota, USA (1993). For his outstanding contribution to
UTM, he was conferred the Excellent Service Award.
In 1995, he went for an industrial attachment at EDI Malaysia and
Time Telekom to acquire hands-on industry experience for nine
months. He became the Acting GM for Time Quantum SB, a Time
Telekom subsidiary company start-up - managing, architecting,
development, and deployment of Time Telekom's RM500 million
Operations Support Services infrastructure. After the industrial
attachment he joined the diversified DRB-HICOM Group and was
responsible for ICT outsourcing services and privatization until
2000. Subsequently, he was offered to be part of another
conglomerate MRCB as GM of Broadband Infrastructure and then
as CEO of the MegaTV (a cable TV company under the TV3 Group).
He continued to serve as Head of MRCB Multimedia Division
managing a number of companies in the division until 2003. He
was successful in turning around the RM90 million MSC Flagship
HRMIS project under MRCB Multimedia Consortium SB. Jamaludin
then moved on to become an entrepreneur and was involved in a
number of ICT start-ups (local and international) as a shareholder,
advisor and mentor. In 2008, he was appointed as an Adjunct
Professor at Kulliyyah of ICT-IIUM.
Presently Tuan Haji Jamaludin is a Senior Academic Fellow at the
Department of Information Systems, KICT-IIUM. He taught
postgraduate courses on Cybersecurity Policy & Strategy, Project
Management, Business Continuity-Disaster Recovery, Physical

undergraduate courses on Technopreneurship, Management

Tuan Haji Ts. Abdul Rahman Ahmad Dahlan obtained his B.Sc
(Hons) in Computation from the University of Manchester Institute
of Science and Technology (UMIST), United Kingdom, and an MBA
from the Business Graduate School, Universiti Putra Malaysia
(UPM) in 1999. He is a member of the Malaysia Board of
Technologists (MBOT) as Professional Technologist since August
2020. Tuan Haji Ts. Abdul Rahman has more than 20 years of
experiences in the ICT industry before entering the academia in
November 2009. He has worn various ICT and business-based
hats during his career, including as the General Manager cum
Head of ICT-based company, General Manager and Manager cum
Head of ICT departments, Director of the National
KnowledgeGRID Malaysia programme, Project Director and

Project Manager of various project sizes, ICT strategic planners,
system & database administrator, network administrator, analyst
programmer, as well as the business development and corporate
planner.
He has setup (a) a new IT-based company, MRCB Software Vision
Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary company of Malaysian Resources Corp.
Bhd. (MRCB), and (b) a new IT department of the New Straits Time
Press Bhd. (NSTP). He was fully responsible for the profitability of
several IT-based companies including MRCB Software Vision Sdn.
Bhd. and Telekom Smart School Sdn. Bhd.
He has managed and delivered ICT-based projects of sizes
varying from a few hundred thousand ringgit worth to projects
worth multi-millions of ringgit for internal and external customers,
both at national and international levels. He has conducted
various business studies, analysis and made recommendations to
management on: (a) Business performance improvement plans for
profitability & competitiveness of companies, (b) Identifying
business opportunities, development of new businesses ventures
& partnerships, and (c) valuing potential worth of companies for
possible merger & acquisition.
Presently, Tuan Haji Ts. Abdul Rahman is a full-time senior
academic fellow in the Department of Information Systems,
Kulliyyah (Faculty) of Information and Communication Technology,
International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). His was one of the
former Deputy Directors/Dean Dean, Office of Corporate Strategy

(OCS), IIUM from July 2012 - Dec 2017; and the former
Dean/Director of OCS/OSIC (Office for Strategy & Institutional
Change, IIUM) reporting directly to the Rector from 1 January
2018 - 1 January 2020. He was part of the core team responsible
in developing & establishing IIUM Strategic Plan 2013 - 2020, IIUM
Transformation Plan, and IIUM Roadmap 2019 - 2020.
He has taught Master Degree courses in IT Strategy &
Governance; Project & Change Management; Knowledge
Management; Risk Management; System Development
Methodologies; Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Emerging
Technologies; and Strategic Management. As for Bachelor
Degree, courses taught include Management Information System,
Information Resource & Strategy Management, Computer
Networking, Technopreneurship, and Project Management in IT.
He has contributed eight books, more than 250 articles in various
international academic journals and presented papers at various
international and national conferences.

Dr Izyani obtained her Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) degree from
University Tenaga Nasional Malaysia and immediately pursued her
Master in Economics at the International Islamic University
Malaysia (IIUM). Upon completion of her postgraduate degree, she
was offered a lecturing position at IIUM. After two years of
service, she furthered her studies at the University of Nottingham,
UK and on completion of her Ph.D, she returned to IIUM and was
promoted to Assistant Professor at the Kulliyyah of Economics
and Management Sciences.

postgraduate levels, including students in the MBA programme. In
terms of research, she has written for several indexed journal
publications as well as chapters in books.
She is also former Deputy Dean of Student Development and

Dr Ghazali Jaapar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of
Islamic Law, Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, IIUM. He obtained
his first degree from the Faculty of Shariah, University of Malaya in
1995, then pursued his Master's degree in Comparative Law from
IIUM and later joined Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws as a faculty
member.
From 2001 until 2005 he embarked on his academic journey to the
United Kingdom and obtained his Ph.D from Birmingham
University. His Ph.D thesis was entitled: "The Concept and
Application of Equity in Islamic Law and in the Shari‟ah Courts in
Malaysia."
In 1998, he has been appointed as Deputy Director, Harun M.
Hashim Law Centre, a business arm of the faculty and
subsequently, promoted as the Director in 2009 until 2011.

During his tenure, he was a senate member of the university. He
also sat in various committees at Kulliyyah and University levels.
He has been actively involved in promoting trainings and
academic programmes, especially for executives and adult
learners ranging from Certificate in Islamic Banking, Executives
Diplomas and Master's degree in various area of laws including
Correctional and Criminology, Islamic Banking, International Law,
etc.
In 2011, he was appointed as Chairman, Group Shari‟ah
Committee for RHB Islamic Bank and also a member of Shari‟ah
Committee for HSBC Amanah Takaful.

SCHEDULE OF TRAINING
The mKitchen secretariat has created a comprehensive schedule
of training. The topics of the training have been oriented into the
3E (Employment, Empowerment and Entrepreneurship). The mode
of the training was fully online through Microsoft Teams.
The first day of the training was on the cash management and
ta‟awun modules. The cash management module was delivered by
Sensei Prof Dr Dzuljastri Abdul Razak. The module was conducted
from 9am until 11.30 a.m. The module included questions and
answers session as well.

were conducted the entrepreneurial midset, business models,
business plan, and the presentation of the initial business models.
The same trainers continued on fourth and fifth days. The topics
on the fourth day were validation and testing of the initial business
models by the trainees, redefinition of validated business models,
and the presentation of the validated business models. On the
fifth day, both trainers conducted the topics on the building of the
business plan, developing business plan, and the presentation of
business plan.
