‘It is not how much we have, but how much we
enjoy, that makes happiness.’
MESSAGE
You Are Worthy !
It is said that students have either a fixed mindset or a growth mindset. A fixed mindset suggests that people are born
with or without certain abilities which cannot be changed. A growth mindset learner, on the other hand, believes that
abilities can be cultivated and improved through hard work; they enjoy a challenge and see struggles and failures as
necessary parts of growth
The fear, disruptions and uncertainties that have become a part of all our lives during these unprecedented times, have
also brought near total disruption to the academic calendar. Not surprisingly, we have been able to provide a seamless
transition to online education easily. Clearly, both our students and our teachers have demonstrated their ‘growth
mindset’and that they are truly empowered with the 21st century skills of adaptability and flexibility.
While teachers are exploring a plethora of apps and online activities to make classes more interactive, students have
risen to the challenge to continue to bring laurels to the school. Academics, Inter-School, Inter-House and Intra-
Class events, Art Integration, Social Outreach Programmes and even Physical Education classes are all happening
online. Challenges haven’t stopped us in any way!
As this new normal sets in, everybody is learning how to best adjust. Staying involved in various activities keeps us
motivated and helps refocus our attention away from these stressful times towards a more hopeful future. Students,
we are proud of you and the way you have taken it all in your stride. Truly you are Worthy ! God bless each one of you.

FROM THE
PRINCIPAL’S
DESK
Dear Readers
Education carries an inherent strength- to change with the times, as well as to change the times.
The session 2020-21 has been one of learning and a lot of un-learning! The entire paradigm of education
underwent an overhaul and adapted to need of the time. Throughout the year we kept hearing uplifting stories
of how educators all over the world walked that extra mile and reached out to their learners in more ways than
one- be it academics, their mental and emotional well-being or keeping them meaningfully engaged.
At Tagore International School, the teachers ensured that they delivered knowledge to their students
uninterruptedly, in the best manner possible under the given circumstances, their personal challenges
notwithstanding. They planned their lessons meticulously, transacted sessions at Google Meet punctually
and punctiliously, carried out assessments systematically, and took care of the emotional well-being of their
students steadfastly. As the months went by, it became increasingly apparent that the pandemic is here to
stay for a long time and they kept the morale of their students high by floating many activities, competitions,
avenues for learning beyond curriculum and gaining skills for life.
We at TIS have been all the more conscientious about our responsibility of upholding all that we did in the
‘normal’ times, to provide our students with a sense of normalcy. We organised our summer camp ‘Virtuoso’
to an enthusiastic participation of students, the Inter House competitions that fuelled the spirit of participation,
various Ceremonies that made us look forward to the days; at the same time, we organised skill- building
webinars by seasoned resource persons, and facilitated internships and workshops for our senior students.
As we look back to the session gone by, we feel a sense of satisfaction in all that we could do for our students.
The times were tough, but we proved ourselves to be tougher!
We hope to continue providing our worthy Tagoreans with the best of learning that is possible in the given
circumstances and to stand for them and by them as best as we can.
As always, we seek your support in our endeavour of nurturing our Tagoreans to be the best that they can be.
I wish health and safety to all.

Editorial2020 has certainly been a year of many firsts. We had the rug pulled out from under our feet
as we were presented with new challenges, which we welcomed in order to turn them into
opportunities. It was also a year full of a huge amount of learning. Not only did teachers and
students alike become more tech savvy, but we learnt to find joy and happiness in terrible
times. We looked a little deeper into ourselves and explored the limitless possibilities of all
that we could achieve while sitting in our homes.
Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar didn’t treat the pandemic as a setback but as a
challenge to try to bring education, co-curricular activities, and competitions online, without
compromising quality.
Tagoreans made the school proud by emerging victorious in various online events. ‘Project
Sehpaathi’ explored a different method of conducting training sessions on ‘Spoken English’
for EWS students. School Clubs and Campaigns went the extra mile, by organizing periodic
interactions, to create a space for like-minded students to enhance their skills. The Society
Caretakers of Heritage pivoted to conducting Virtual Heritage Walks this year to spread
awareness about India’s culture.
As Delhi saw cleaner air, greener trees, lesser traffic, chirping birds and colourful flora in
full bloom, Tagoreans rose to the occasion, to raise awareness and mobilise action for
protection of the environment by making bird feeders, planting trees, writing slogans, making
posters, etc on World Environment Day. Students also participated in e-talk shows as ‘Young
Warriors of Good Air’.
2020 has not only made us more cautious of our surroundings but also made us rethink our
lifestyles. Interactions and experiences at all fronts, both personal and professional now
have a different dynamic. The future outlook is being thought of from a fresh and open
perspective. We are confident that Tagoreans will begin the new academic session with this
new perspective and even greater vigour.
