Security and Access

View

To protect the home from unwanted intrusions or emergency situations, it's possible to install a safe system
programmable by Eedomus. Some of the most important devices of this system are cameras, locks,
movement sensors, and so on.
There are a lot of different types of Cameras suitable for the Eedomus system. In these units, Netatmo (for
facial recognition) and Foscam are described.
The first one has to be installed inside the home to check the accesses to the habitation. It can recognize the
face of every person. The second one is recommended to be installed on vertical surfaces (like walls),
paying attention not to pose the Camera inside areas exposed to weathering or any other types of atmosphere
agents that could compromise the correct function of it.
The access management control every movement from the opening of the windows to the interface between
Keypad and Danalock that permit the opening and the closing of the lock through an RFID key or an access
code.
Strips are devices used to control if a window is open or close; they are composed by a magnetic bar and a
magnet. The opening of a window is detecting by the movement of the bar.
About the secure of the habitation, there are also a lot of devices able to detect flood and fire (flood sensor
and smoke sensor) and others that are able to check movement in a room

General Information

The "StrIPs Guard "is a magnetic sensor designed to monitor and protect windows and doors. It is of small
size and in most cases can be mounted in an invisible way.
At the bottom of the sensor, there is an adhesive strip, essential to assemble the sensor.
It is equipped with Z-Wave technology and therefore interfaces perfectly with all devices having the same
technology.

Device Inclusion and exclusion

Remove the stickers containing the two magnets, the rectangular one (A) and the round One (B). The
magnets must be repositioned manually in the original position: the magnet A in the squared part of the
strip, while the magnet B in the round part.
Once done, the inclusion procedure of the controller must be set via the Eedomus site
(https://secure.eedomus.com/).
Click "Setup"  "Add or remove Device"  "Add Device Z-Wave”.
At this point, the controller will be available to include or exclude a device.
Approach the Strip and move the two magnets at the same time.
If the procedure works, the LED of the strip makes a long flashing confirming the pairing. If not, it emits
five flashes indicating a failure in the communication.
In case of non-pairing repeat the procedure.

Installation

1. Before proceeding with the installation of the Strips, check that there is space enough in the place
intended for fixing.

2. Clean the fastening surface for an effective grip of the adhesive.

2

3. Fasten the Strips in the fixed part of the window and the magnets in the movable part.

Assembly Recommendations

To have a guarantee on the correct functioning of the Strips it is necessary that the device is not mounted
directly on metal surfaces otherwise the working range is reduced (in optimum conditions it is 40 meters).
The same happens to the magnet A (which is used to detect the movement).
Once an appropriate position is found, use the small, temporary brown sticker to secure the strip, and place
the magnet less than 10 mm away from the squared part.
It’s recommended the positioning of the strip on the movable part of the door/window (exposed to a
temperature greater than 10 °c) and the magnet on the fixed part.

Table of Signals

One Short Flashing  Event detected
 Feedback during user commands

Two Short Flashes  Demo operation (only if not yet associated)

One Long Flashing  User Command executed

Five Short Flashes  Error communicating with the controller

Fibaro Motion Sensor

Specific

 Power Supply  Battery 3.0 V
 Battery Type  CR123A
 Operating Temperature  0 a 40°C
 Measured temperature Range  -20 to 100 °c
 Measuring Range of the Intensity Of light  0-32000 LUX
 Size  46 mm

General Information

A motion sensor can be associated with sirens and other types of alarms in order to control a possible
intrusion in a space. The connection between Eedomus controller and Fibaro Motion Sensor allows the
sending of messages by email or mobile phone if a presence is detected.
The Multi-sensor Universal "Fibaro Motion Sensor" is compatible with the Z-Wave Plus protocol.
This device is equipped with a motion sensor, a temperature sensor, a light sensor and also, through the
detection of vibrations, can detect the attempted tampering or an earthquake. "FIBARO Motion Sensor" is
battery powered, completely wireless, and its casing allows quick and non-invasive installation on any
surfaces. The device can be used to create ' scenes ' of lighting and presence monitoring systems.

Installation and Inclusion

To install and include the "Fibaro Motion Sensor" in the Z-Wave network, complete the following steps.

1) Open the sensor casing by turning the lid anticlockwise.
2) Remove the battery pack.
3) Place the Sensor near your Z-Wave controller.
4) Set the main Z-Wave controller to include mode.
5) Quickly Press three times The B button located

inside the body; The LED illuminates blue to
confirm the setting in learning mode.
6) Wait for the device to be added to the system, the
success Will Confirmed by the controller.
7) Finally, Activate the sensor by clicking the B
button.
8) Close the cover by turning it clockwise.
9) Install the sensor stand in the desired position.
10) Insert the device into its support.
