Executive Director’s Summary

Your prayers and financial support for GOA 2020/2021 financial year ena-
bled GOA vision and mission to advance during the most difficult year in
GOA’s History due to Covid-19. 15 days to April 1st the first Covid-19 case
was reported in Kenya. The GOA board of governors had envisioned a nor-
mal year while the GOA management teams at the Head Office had put
plans together ready to start the new financial year.

This past financial year is exactly the first full year of Covid-19 in Kenya, and

most of the African Nations in which GOA exists to glorify God by fulfilling

the great Commission. The Kenyan Health systems, economy social and

Bishop David Munyiri emotional life was completely affected, but resulting from your support,
GOA Executive Director disciples who are growing in Spiritual maturity have increased. The quality
of life of those at the greatest risk in our communities especially vulnerable

children, the homeless, those impacted by HIV/AIDS has improved beyond what we would have imagined or ex-

pected in such a difficult year. With Covid-19 Lockdown and working from Home there was massive loss of jobs and

consequently loss of income. This translated into conflicts in families, churches, tribes and Nations. Your support

enabled GOA to resolve conflicts among the Samburu, Turkana tribes and help families build peace by managing

their conflicts. Leadership development was greatly affected in that our main Partners International Leadership In-

stitute (ILI) could not travel or hold in person trainings. This reduced funding from ILI by 17.4% from the previous

year. However, through the online training a total of 4803 leaders were trained in the English speaking African Na-

tions. Traditional, I travel to the united states every month of October. Due to Covid-19 travel restrictions I couldn't

travel in October 2020. My lack of travel reduced GOA funding in October to the lowest funded month through out

the year as we have shown in our finance report.

With the help of our God, our partners and GOA teams, it is clearer now that God’s vision done God’s way never
lacks God’s provision. Despite the difficult year, 10 permanent GOA church buildings have been built one of the 10
is the Hope Centre where GOA is taking care of 260 HIV positive Children in Siaya County at GOA Simero church.

During the Development of the GOA plans for the past financial year GOA church-Growth envisioned increasing the
number of new believers by 700. However, due to the Covid-19 limitations especially on all the evangelistic and dis-
cipleship meetings that had been planned, 400 new believers were realized. 25 new churches had been envisioned
to be planted, 14 new churches were planted during the difficult year. Our teams are blessed with creativity that
enabled them realize these achievements. Though we never met for the planned Annual GOA International Family
Conferences in person the event was held online attracting even more Non-GOA members.

The effect of Covid-19 on Compassion ministries would have been unbearable without financial support, but praise
God despite the challenges, we took care of over 310 children in all our homes and foster care programs. The most
Negative effect of Covid on GOA was the closure of GOA Wendani Education Centre. It did not make economic
sense to continue paying for the leased property that never belonged to GOA and pay the teachers during the 8
months of the Lockdown.

Executive Director’s Summary

The lessons that Our teams learnt from this closure is that it is invaluable to have all our GOA projects on assets
that are owned by GOA. You have amazed my team and me based on your generosity and sacrificial giving during
the hard times. Your funding to realize GOA plans increased by 1.25% from Kes. 102,590,939 in 2019/2020 to Kes.
103,879,689 in this difficult year of covid-19 2020/2021. This increase is mainly attributed to your generosity to
Hope For Nations which enabled us to keep Hope alive among Africans where GOA is serving.
GOA teams learnt that what Job had declared that “I know you can do all things and that no plan of yours can be
thwarted” Job 42:2 in actually true. Despite the struggle and uncertainty of this 2020/2021 year, you have con-
firmed to us that with your support God’s plans are unstoppable. We invite you to move with us in this new finan-
cial year 2021/2022.
This is the year GOA is celebrating 30 years of God’s faithfulness in making disciples of all Nations, all the way from
vulnerable young disciple to adults who live in conflict with God and each other to equip leaders to spread the Gos-
pel. God has told us that he is doing a new thing Isaiah 53:18.

GOA Board of governors and the Head Office management team are currently engaged in an intense review of the
past GOA 30 years, strategic envisioning and planning for the next 30 years. With your financial donation of
$14,000 we could hire a professional consultancy firm to help us add professionalism to our passion and give us an
independent review.
We are especially praying and trusting God that together with you we can build the GOA Dream Centre as GOA’s
30 years. This is God’s time for this project. Please consider a generous 30th Anniversary gift for this project
Together we will have even greater impact in GOA church Growth Compassion, Leadership and Peace Building

Introduction

GOA department of church growth accomplished many of the goals as were envisioned for 2020in the
midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Both permanent and temporary worship sanctuaries have been con-
structed in different places, new churches were planted, new members have joined GOA congregations
from different regions and are going through discipleship classes. April 2020 GOA International Family Con-
ference was among many other regional events that were held through online platforms because the re-
striction of gatherings and travel. New congregations and fellowships (small groups) were launched in
different locations which are now growing. Our different churches have sent their monthly reports to the
Head office promptly despite many of them remaining closed for several months in response to the Minis-
try of health directives on COVID-19 healthy containment measures.

Semi-permanent constructions
A few semi-permanent constructions were established in different locations. Many of these congregations
are worshipping on rented parcels of land with a hope to purchase their own them in future and put in
plans to build more permanent churches.

We envisioned a ministry that is leading unbelievers into a personal relationship with Christ.
We envisioned reaching 700 new believer during the year. About 400 new members joined Glory Outreach
Assembly Church from different areas and countries where GOA is carrying out her mission. They are going
through discipleship classes, while are being taken through young believers classes. Our congregations
adopted different evangelism strategies in different areas as is appropriate to their localities.

Left: Small groups leads a member to receive Christ Right: Open air Evangelism in Kinamba Laikipia
We envisioned the establishment of 25 newly planted church communities.
In the course of the year, 14 new congregations were established. These are congregations that have Pas-
tors and boards of governance that are providing leadership to these churches. 4 congregations were ex-
isting as fellowships and have been confirmed as mature congregations since they have met the require-
ments and the status of a mature congregation according to GOA Church Management Policy Document.
The new congregations planted in 2020/2021 include Ramunde, Tamlega, Changara, Kanganga, Chemoge,
Maeni, Murera, Kinamba, Rurii, Vumbwe, Ngiya Ogoria, Kaeset, Kiptiroko, Kinja and Moruenguor. The ones
that were declared as mature congregations were Busia hills, Bulemia, Kibindoi, and Gumba GOA in Tana
River.

SPORTS MINISTRY

Our Creative response

GOA sports ministry creatively responds to the great commission through sports such as rollball, football,
floorball, handball and athletics. This is because God commands us to go to the world and make disciples of
all nations. Our world and nation is the sports world which is culturally relevant to the young people who
make over 70% of the population in our society.

The Covid-19 challenge

2020/2021 was a difficult year for the sports department due to covid-19. Gatherings were prohibited and
all sports activities suspended as a result of this. It was difficult to imagine a life and world without sports
activities as we could no longer meet in the field. The hand of God was with us and we achieved a lot de-
spite the pressing challenges encountered. One of the main achievement that year was the launch of hope
for nations initiative that enabled us support our players and coaches who had lost their jobs due to covid
19. Over 100 in sports received food and financial resources to cater for their bills during their lowest mo-
ments.
Hope For Nations relief
We are so grateful to our Bishop David for this initiative and to all who gave towards it. We gave hope to

many and continued our discipleship sessions via
WhatsApp and video calls. Technology helped us reach
and encourage many in and out of the nation. We held so
many meetings through zoom and Google meet that year.
Over 1,000 were impacted with the gospel.
We also thank the ministry of sports for supporting our
national team players with a stipend.

Our Journey to Sustainability

The department also started a sustainability project in
March 2020 aimed at selling floorball equipment to
sustain our activities. God has been gracious enough to
provide a vehicle for the department since the month
of May 2020 and through this, movement was en-
hanced that year both in marketing the equipment as
well as in the ministerial work.

Our sports coordinator was also blessed with his first born son Ray
Mwangi on 7th May 2020 and the child dedicated to God on 8th Novem-
ber 2020 in a ceremony that saw people give to support the work of
God.

We also incorporated the Silver Queens floorball team in our evangelism strategy and we are encouraged
by the potential in this team both in and out of the field. We also introduced floorball to Wendani primary

school where we had an opportunity to speak
and motivate the kids as well. Various
meetings and discipleship sessions were also
held amongst our 41 teams.

Special thanks to all our friends and partners
who have supported us that year including:
GOA Switzerland, Floorball4all International,
Renewable Sustainable Living (RSL), Sports fed-
erations and the ministry of sports. Special
thanks to our bishop too for the guidance,
leadership and mentorship during that difficult

year.

The Story Of Coach Peter Njoroge

Coach Peter is 49 years old and happily married to Mary Njeri. The father of three started his sports career in 1993
and is currently our athletics coach (on a voluntary basis). He says his motivation is the development of young talents.

Through God’s grace 1500 youngsters have been transformed
through his efforts in football and athletics with very many tro-
phies won as well. Coach Peter says it takes patience to win and
he has been patient enough with his players starting low and
eventually becoming champions. Over 100 athletes have partici-
pated in international games through pure hard work and his
connections. This include races in Lottery marathon Tanzania
(2017), Limpopo marathon in South Africa, Beijing marathon in
China among others like Tata marathon in India(2019) and Inter-
national police marathon in India(2020)

Coach Peter says that meeting GOA is one of the greatest high-
lights in his sports journey as his life has been transformed holis-
tically. GOA is the well he runs to when he is dry with God being
the source. GOA sports department has made it easier for him to
impact more lives. He has also been very instrumental in planning for the last two GOA 10km races meant to build the
GOA dream centre.

Esther Muchiri
Director GOA Compassion

What we do

GOA compassion department works with the communities to improve the quality of life for the less fortu-
nate and promote dignity for life through education and holistic development. Over the years, we have
built institutions that are recognized as centers of comprehensive care and compassion for orphans and
vulnerable children. GOA has eight children homes and schools in different counties in Kenya: namely Tu-
maini Kinangop children home, Rhema children home, Strong tower , Beat the Drum, Rehema Girls , Christ
compassion, Kieni west and Ebenezer children homes. The homes and schools receive children through
referrals by church, community members, from government and other institutions. In the just concluded
financial year that had great challenges we were able to care for 310 children. By the grace of God all our
children and staff were protected against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Our Children Welfare

We appreciate that most of our children and staff remained in good health.
The major challenge on health was Simon Mwangi from Beat the drum who
had a leg deformity that required comprehensive medical care which was
costly. Goa Switzerland came in on time and helped find medication for Si-
mon,. We are grateful.

We have put measures against covid-
19 as instructed by the Ministry of
Health which includes, travel re-
strictions, wearing of masks, washing
hands, keeping social distance and not
limiting the visitors visiting our institu-
tions.

Construction project:
Our construction projects are geared to giving our home children and staff decent housing that promote
their dignity and help them enjoy their time in the home. Through our friends and partners we accom-
plished several projects in our different homes these include: the ones show below.

tively. Donations of water tanks were received from GOA Switzerland and installed in 5 different homes. This has
helped us harvest and store rain water and ensure that our children are using clean water Installation of heating
system at Tumaini by GOA Switzerland will help keep sickness at bay. Kids are enjoying hot showers. Our vision to
use gas instead of firewood at Kieni was achieved. We intend to add more cows to help generate our own bio gas.

Training
We had envisioned 4 staff trainings in 2020. We were able to hold 2 full leadership forums and also a
zoom training for all the managers. We were also able to visit different organizations to learn new tech-
nologies on farming.

Foster program
GOA Ebenezer foster care program in Tharaka Nithi County is a project through which needy children are
taken care of by individual families. The project came to existence after the closure of GOA Ebenezer chil-

dren home due to inadequate funds to care for the
children in the institution. After the closure of the or-
phanage the GOA church members adopted kinship
and foster care for the children where we continued
supporting the children in their families. It is so re-
freshing when GOA Switzerland came and provided
funds to support this program. We have continued to
receive monthly support in the year 2020 which was such a blessing to the children and their guardians.
We also have other children in Nairobi and Nyeri under the foster program totaling to 17 children. All of
them are well kept and protected even through the covid-19 pandemic.

Hope For Nations

Hope for Nations is an initiative started on 1st April 2020 to inspire and keep hope alive for African
victims of the devastating impacts of Covid 19. Many families in Kenya and many other countries in
Africa depend on daily menial jobs to earn their daily bread. When the first case of Covid–19 was re-
ported in Kenya, many work places were closed to control the spread of the disease. Many factories
closed down while others downsized their workforce, families that provided menial job opportuni-
ties to farm labourers and household chores helps also closed their gates on all of them. These fami-
lies suffered lose of income and a result the devastation brought about hopelessness.

GOA Compassion therefore started the Hope For Nations to help these families with food and other
sanitary utilities to them. More than 800 families translating to over 2000 persons in Kenya, Uganda,
DRC Congo, Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania had their hope rejuvenated through your generous giv-
ing. The covid-19 situation was worsened in parts of Burundi, Tanzania and Kenya by the floods occa-
sioned by the Heavy rains that hit these regions during the period. Thank you to all our partners

GOA EDUCATION

Introduction

GOA Schools exist to improve the lives of less fortunate and vulnerable children through providing quality
and affordable education. Through Education children in GOA attain knowledge which is helpful to them
as individuals as well us benefiting the entire ministry. Some of the children who have gone through our
schools have grown to be productive members of our society with two of them managing two of our
homes. From the adult school they have been able to read and write and as a result one has become a
pastor and has started a GOA church enhancing the making of disciples.

EFFECT OF COVID-19 TO THE DEPARTMENT

Education department was worst hit by the pandemic in year 2020. Schools were closed in mid-March
2020 indefinitely. The burden of paying teachers was too much. With this development, we closed down
permanently one of our schools in Nairobi, GOA Education Center in Kahawa Wendani. Managers in
some of our homes faced a challenge of indiscipline due to the prolonged holiday. Some were helpless
with the children assignments since they are not in a position to go through the students’ assignments or
help them in the area of study since they are not trained in the different subjects learnt in high school.
The peace department came in and helped through counseling and visitations.

Compassion

Our candidates class for the year sat their national exams and com-
pleted successfully. As we await their results we are so positive about
the results we are looking forward to getting for their performance.
Especially after the efforts that our teams put in place to help the stu-
dents during their preparations amidst the covid-19 pandemic

I was born in Nairobi County in the year 2006. I am fourteen (14) years old. I have two brothers and one
sister. I am the second born after my elder brother Reinhard Bonke of CCRC, my sister in grade 4 and the

youngest brother joined ECD last year.

I was born in a less fortunate family; unaware of my biological fa-
ther. My mother used to hawker merchandise in the streets of
Kayole. My step father who always had unexplained conflicts with
my mother forced her to quit the marriage.

My Uncle who was in that vicinity and was later tipped about the
perennial fights and challenges which we were undergoing, he re-
located us to the countryside to live with our grandmother who
was old. Our mother was left hustling in Nairobi.

My uncle therefore introduced me to the GOA family. I recall a
team of compassionate people including Bishop David and head
office team which visited our home in 2014; they heard my story and welcomed me to join Tumaini chil-
dren home and later Goa Education Centre in class two. Since I joined the home in 2015, my life has
turned around. I was provided with all the basic needs, education, and spiritual growth in character, ac-
quisition of life skills & nurturing of my talents. I would like to be an actress at the National theatre”

Our top needs in the school are resources needed to facilitate the current Competency Based Curriculum.
The school is in need of 10 Computers and Five Tablet Computers to facilitate learning for the children.

To also help our children grow with their understanding of the current news and enhance their thought
process our teams have seen it necessary to avail a copy of the News dailies to the school library.

GOA NABWELPUSI SCHOOL

The school currently provides education to a total of 190 children in Turkana. These children also depend
on the school for their daily food since many of
their parents are not able to adequately feed them.
With the effects of covid-19 many of the children
have suffered not only by failing to access their right
to education but also lack of food. In collaboration
with the local Authorities and other charitable or-
ganization, the school received food donations and

Books for the children. The school also received a donation of a solar based power system for lighting.
Through our partners Cumber land community church in Georgia USA, we have continued to support the
school with food supply as well as the academic programs

Priority Needs in the school

a. Construction of an extra permanent class for grade 5 @ 1,300,00

school, the local government through its partners has built a classroom for the children in which they will
be moving when school reopen.
The school however experiences the challenge of insuffient infrastructure and teachers to handle all the
children. There are only three teachers working on voluntary basis with no definite salary for their support.

NAOTIN ADULT SCHOOL
GOA Naotin adult School in Turkana offers an opportunity to adult members of the community who
missed the opportunity to school in the early years to learn. The school currently has an enrolment of 36
adult leaners from the community.
Challenges
They have been facing a challenge of an extra teacher (12,000) who can assist the current one in handling
the different levels.
There has been a challenge of some missing school to look for food for their families.
During the difficult Covid-19 season, Mr. Simon Ekitela the only teachers handling the different grades
adopted a door to door learning schedule. He would visit the students in their homes administer exams
and evaluate his students

they embrace one another as one in the body of Christ. GOA also works with Nations like Kenya, Uganda,
Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Sudan. Many of these countries experience violence during elections.
The department helps in organizing seminars and prayers to reduce the impact of such happenings which
leads to death of innocent lives.

The Covid-19 puzzle
The department was adversary affected by the pandemic, most of our activities involve meeting with
people. As a result of COVID 19, some activities could not be carried out normally. However, the depart-
ment ensured that the activities continued through social media; WhatsApp, Facebook and YouTube. The
restriction of keeping distance affected in that, individual counseling requires one on one contact where
one can show empathy to the client as well as seeing the emotions of the clients. There was also an in-
crease in conflicts within families due to factors like loss of jobs, cessation of movement leading to re-
stricted movements and being together for a long time which leads to increase in conflicts.

Peace in families
Our teams envisioned impacting 600 people from different areas through family seminars, premarital
counseling and post marital counseling among our other strategies. Both preventive and preservative
measures are carried out to ensure Peace in families which leads to peace in society since family is the
building block of different societies.

Our New family building strategies.
With the Covid-19 pandemic living in our communities our teams adopted new strategies to keep building
strong families.:-
Couple’s fellowships took place online through WhatsApp every Saturday where different topics were dis-
cussed. As a result the couples have grown a better bond among themselves and stronger in their families.
Physical fellowships with restricted attendance to conform to the ministry of health guidelines went on
monthly. New members who joined our churches had this opportunity to learn and bond with the rest We

GOA Children's’ homes support

 Our teams held counseling sessions with children's in the different homes. The need for these sessions was dire
owing to the long holidays that the children had spending more than nine months at home with the caregivers, a
situation which lead to rise in more conflicts among themselves and the caregivers.

 Our team adopted some of the following measures to handle this

 Rev Mwai helping to solve a conflict in Beat the drum children’s home. A follow-up seminar was carried out by
the manager, Peter Kimani with materials given by Rev. Mwai.

 We availed counseling materials for the different members of our teams in the homes to use on the cases

 We regularly met with our staff both online and in-person in the cases where there were needs to meet

 With the rising cases of teen pregnancy during the period, we prepared a lot of educative video and other media
content and shared with our home managers to share with the children.

 When the regulations on movements were eased, we planned a week long counseling session in all our homes

which helped our children cope with the long stay at home

GOA trains leaders of leaders empowered by the Holy Spirit to be agents of meaningful change in the soci-

My vision which is to equip GOA leaders who may not get an opportunity to go to school as well as other
leaders in Africa so that they may correctly divide the word of God. This will happen through discipleship
classes, Consistent Bible Reading (CBR) training/ Daily Word feast, International Leadership Institute (ILI)
and training in Bible and theology in GOA Global University (GGU).

Consistent Bible Reading (CBR)
Our past year goal was to have CBR classes in three GOA administrative regions with each class having at
least 20 members learning the discipline of Consistent Bible Reading. So far a total of 30 students have

been going through training in two regions in GOA Ka-
hawa Wendani (Nairobi region) with 10 students, and
20 students in Marimanti (Tharaka region). 50 stu-
dents graduated in two regions; GOA Ndunyu Njeru 35
students in Kinangop region and GOA Mukinduri with
14 students (Mr. Kenya region). Other two classes
would have been launched if it were not for the Covid-
19 which has slowed down the in- person training due to the lockdown.
GOA Global University GGU Theological training
These classes go on In Kenya and Burundi every month. From
the beginning of the year classes were running well in each of
the two stations. 12 diploma students graduated in Tharaka in
the month of February 2020 while 8 degree students are still
working on their papers aiming to graduate in the course of
this year. However these classes could not proceed successful-
ly due to the Effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. We shall re-
sume as soon as we are able to meet in person.

I wish to welcome the graduating class to the great harvest field. After I finished my diploma immediately
enrolled in the degree program. This is because I realized how the studies I
had received were increasing my effectiveness in ministry. I am now pursu-
ing my degree. I am also pastoring a church and at the same time I have
planted three other churches in the last one year. I have also started a Bible
school which has over 50 students being trained for effective ministry. I am
greatly blessed to be part of the GOA Global University (GGU) for the

knowledge I now have to expand the kingdom of God.

Post secondary
The post-secondary department works hand in hand with the compassion department to offer an exit
strategy for the children in the home. Our vision is to see a smooth transition of the children from the
orphanages to colleges and universities where they will develop their careers and finally lead independ-
ent lives that embody godly leadership. The financial year has been different from the rest as it was
marred by the world wide covid-19 pandemic. The pandemic affected the post-secondary department
very much as a few days after the announcement of the first case in the country, all the schools were
closed down and all our students had to go home. The students stayed at home for 8 months and God
was gracious enough to provide monthly sustenance for all our students. However we have been able to
admit 12 new students into the program while 4 of our students completed their studies through institu-
tions online programs and are awaiting graduation.

Through the partnership with GOA Switzerland we have been
able to equip 19 of our students with laptops. The laptops
have been very helpful in facilitating the online classes for our
students. This has become a common need in the present
education system as almost all our students need laptops for
ease of learning

What we do

The admin team provides support services to the GOA team. Some of these include, financial administra-
tion and management, communication, Banking volunteers coordination as well as other staff support
that our teams both at the Head Office in Nairobi and the staffs in our different institutions such as
homes and schools need.

Introduction
With the emergence of Covid 19 right at the beginning of our financial year that just ended, the financial
performance of the ministry was expected to decline rapidly with the changes in various economies
around the globe. With a lot of people losing their jobs, getting sick, closed businesses e.t.c many liveli-
hoods were affected and many were left in hopeless situations. As a ministry we thank God that despite
all this difficulties we were able to pull through the year stronger than we thought. God put in our way
great partners and friends who have walked with us even through these difficult situations. The year has
emerged as one of the best performing financially and we are so grateful to God for this.
Compared to the last financial year the ministry registered a slight growth in our operating income at the
rate of 1.25% from 102.59 Million to 103.87 Million. Based on the circumstances we can only thank God
that this was possible.
Some departments were adversely affected while others performed better. Compassion funds increased
at the rate of 23.2% the significant change is attributed to Hope for nation’s funds initiative. Due to re-
duced in-person trainings Leadership funds decreased at the rate of 17.4%. Church growth funds also re-
duced at the rate of 28.5% which was as a result of a decrease in the number of churches being con-
structed and also decrease in tithes contribution due to church lockdown. Peace building and Conflict
Resolution was not spared either with its income reducing at the rate of 77.9%. Administration income
increased at the rate of 3.4%.

4. ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT PERFOMANCE

Over the past years the department has not had much support in terms of finances. As a result some
measures were adopted to meet the department’s targets. These measures include: raising admin charge
from 10 to 15% and investing in our sustainability project to boost our income. However our international
partners have supported this department in a huge way and much has been achieved through this. We
appreciate the input and effort made by everyone to ensure that this department runs smoothly and effi-
ciently.

LOCAL FUNDING

TITHE FROM CHURCHES

Tithe from churches are one of our main sources of local funding. Despite the fact that
churches were closed by the government for better part of the year it’s surprising how
God kept this source of funds alive as a good number of churches continued remitting
this support. Though giving declined as COVID-19 cases rose this trend was quickly over-
turned and giving started improving.

GOA SACCO exists with the objective of empowering the members financially, by helping the members
grow the discipline of saving and borrowing loans to help implement their projects. We offer affordable
loan products to our members. Over time we have worked on putting in place the best systems that
would help us manage the resources of our members prudently. We are grateful to God for enabling us
reach this far and to our members in enabling the success of the SACCO.
SACCO Security
Our team ensures proper management and security of members deposits. In order to safeguard our
members deposit against serial loan defaulters, we are duly registered by Metropol Credit referencing
Bureau to identify and avert any possible debt defaulters.
Our Focus
As we move forward, we are learning to take full advantage of the quickly growing technology and invest
in quick loans to members as we look forward to investing in an online members recruitment and trans-
action option. Our membership base is growing so fast bringing the necessity to adopt current technolo-
gies in the market to remain competitive.
Our teams have also put sufficient plans in place to expand the reach of the SACCO to serve our primary
clients better. With the incorporation of the Corporate ledger accounts for organizations we look forward
to empowering our different church congregations in their different projects.
Our management team has also scheduled a series of education forums for our clients in different areas.
We look forward to helping more people understand the power of saving and investing to attain fincincia
freedom.

GOA Dream Centre

THE DREAM CENTRE
GOA Dream Centre is a project designed to take GOA service delivery to greater heights. It is a project
that will serve as the headquarters church and office of GOA International. This project will enhance
greater output in terms of outreach to the unreached and pastoral ministry to more people, enhance
greater care to the less fortunate, be a centre of peace and conflict resolution, reach more people to re-
ceive leadership training and development and ensure proper governance and administration of the GOA
vision areas.

Our Dream centre journey during the Covid-19 year
Our major events for raising the funds during the year did not happen as a result of the Covid-19 pan-
demic. These were the Mini marathon in Ndunyu Njeru in April 2020 and the funds drive on 7th June
2020 and the International Funds drive in The USA in October 2020. However, our teams sustained the
funds drive through the available online platforms and managed to raise a total of Kes. Kes. 1,328543.
This was against our Years target of Kes. 10 million to start the project. Thank you to our partners who
generously gave despite the difficult times.
As we celebrate the 30 years of GOA all our teams are focused of raising funds for the Dream Centre Pro-
ject. It is our prayer that as we finish this celebration period we shall also have completed the project.
Our teams have also embarked on working on all the legal and structural hurdles that the project initially
face with the local authorities to ensure the building can start as soon as possible.
We thank you for your committed support into walking with us in this journey even in the midst of
storms. Hon David Ngugi, Mr. Andrew Guuru, Hon John Nakara, Mr. Kithinji Nyaga, Mrs. Pauline Gitau,
Bishop Simon Thuo, our dear friends from GOA USA, GOA Switzerland, Dr Moses Mwangi, Mr. Isaac
Thairu, our GOA Board Chair Mr. Paul Kironcho, Mrs. Damaris Maina who was very instrumental into
putting up the online fundraiser in June and many more stakeholders and friends of GOA, my sincere
gratitude is immeasurable for the support received.

Give today to build the GOA Dream Centre through the means provided at the back cover of this News-
letter

VOLUNTEER S
PROGRAM

GOA Administration department envisions Godly stewardship, accountability management and oversight.
The volunteer department falls in this department. GOA volunteers department aims at creating volun-
teer opportunities for people to utilize their gifts and skills to glorify God and impact lives.
Our Success Story

Our teams visit and spend time with our children in
the homes. On our visit to Rhema children’s home
visit was a we encouraged some of the children,
young girls who had been rejected by their families,
it was very heart breaking. We encouraged them
and showed them love helping them to begin a
new lease of life at the Home. The girls are now at the home attending school and being cared for by a
team of loving caregivers.

The impact of Covid-19
During the year we cancelled 4 paid tickets for our International Volunteers who were scheduled to visit
our different projects. As a result we did not host any of our expected volunteers. With the closure of
our homes to visitors and restricted entry to visitors to protect our children from the covid-19 pandem-
ic. We did not admit any of the local volunteers who had expressed their interest in serving in our
homes. We are however recovering with a goo number of our International volunteers expressing their
interests to travel to Kenya upon the improvement of the covid-19 situation.

Finance and Administration
The past year we were able to visit Tumaini children’s homes in preparation for hosting the GOA Switzer-
land volunteers coordinator internship program and had meetings with all stakeholders and shared on
the expectations and roles for each of them. This was very effective as we were well prepared by the time
the volunteer arrived we met all the expectations.
We managed to host Michaela for her internship we were able to meet all the stakeholders involved
such as the supervisor from the university of Nairobi as well as the staff from the head office and share
the expectations and ensured that she has arrived Tumaini safely and everything worked out well .We
meet all the school requirements .
Our Goa Switzerland volunteer coordinator spent some time at Tumaini teaching the children on life
skills and how to building creativity it was a great time she was impressed by the way the home now feels
like a home which has been a great challenge for the home for many years .

We Had meetings with the Switzerland coordinator and come up with creative ideas of how to run our
department during the pandemic one of the ways we agreed was to keep the WhatsApp group for past
volunteers active with the things that are going on in the ministry this has been going on very well we
thank God. Most of them gave feedback that despite many negative news which have been brought by
the pandemic Goa has managed to give very positive stories and hope.
We have received requests from friends wishing to volunteers with us in a our different homes through
our social media handles such as Facebook page. When the covid situation improves we shall open up the
opportunities for them all.
We are currently having an intern who is serving in the Media department we are looking forward to ac-
quire and learn new skills from her as well as provide her with a conducive environment to meet her ex-
pectations as well as those of the school.
