Shawn Mendes is your average teenager.He lives with his younger sister, Aaliyah Mendes, his father, Manuel Mendes and his mother, Karen Mendes in Canada.On his 16th birthday, his parents suprised him with a trip to China, where they would visit his grandmother, who he loved a lot. ‘Hold on tightly to your passports. We don’t want to go losing them now, do we?’ said Shawn’s mother when they were lining up at the airport’s checkpoint.
Shawn and his sister replied:‘We will,mom!Don’t worry!’Shortly after that, they had already found themselves on the plane, eagerly waiting for it to take off into the clear blue skies. Before departing, a flight attendant showed all the passengers how to correctly wear their seatbelts to ensure the passengers’ safety through the duration of the flight.
After that was done, it was finally time to depart. It was a long trip from Canada to China, so Shawn decided to whip out his mobile phone and play some games to pass time. To that, Shawn’s mother nagged at him.‘Why are you always playing games?We barely spend enough time as a family and you still play games, even on vacation?’And so Shawn’s phone was confiscated by her.
With nothing left to do, Shawn went to sleep.He started dreaming unconsciously.He was in a fantasy world, where all the characters from the games he played have come to life.There was a muscular soldier, a British knight, a…But before he could finish this wonderful dream, he was woken up by a loud explosion. Following that was an announcement from the cockpit. ‘Attention all passengers, this is the pilot speaking.Our plane has been hit by a thunderbolt and has lost control.We are trying…
But before the pilot could finish his sentence, the plane had already crash landed.Shawn’s mother covered Aaliyah with her own body, desperately trying to shield her from any harm.During this, Shawn was hit by a tumbling luggage bag and rendered him unconscious. Hours and hours passed, and Shawn finally awoke.His jaw dropped to the ground when he saw the plane ablaze.But he knew he had to look for survivors immediately.He had to save his family.
Shawn tried to find his family around the mess.Suddenly,he found his father’s and mother’s corpse but he heard crying sounds from underneath his mother’s corpse . He saw his sister Aaliyah down there.He comforted her with reassuring words. Then,Shawn and his sister salvaged the luggages.They found a note inside saying Aaliyah was to be sent to china to live with their grandma to separate them both from each other because their parents went bankrupt recently.They could not afford to care for two kids anymore.
They had to survive on the little food and water that they salvaged.A few days later, they were saved by the authorities .They were escorted to China to live with their grandmother. When she saw them, tears formed in her eyes.‘Oh, my poor children…’she said.‘Come inside.There is much I have to tell you.’
The moral of the story is to cherish what you have, because you never know when you might lose them. Thanks for reading!
