Warm ups

• 25 Jumping jacks
• Stretching
• Run in place

Continuity Ball

• Rules/Instructions: players scatter around playing area and a
ball is tossed into the air. The goal is to keep the ball in the air
using hands. After a few hit, add another ball and continue to
gradually increase the number of ball is the air. Keep track of
the number of balls in the air and do better next time.

• Key skills: teamwork
• Equipment: 3 beach balls
• Space req: half court
• Time req: 6 mins

True or False

• Rules/Instructions: players are divided into 2 equal teams standing
on either side of a center line. One is named the “true team” and the
other is the “ false team”. Each team has a goal on the opposite side
of the center line. When the leader gives a true statement, true
players run to the goal and are chased by the false players. If
tagged members of the true team become members of the false team
and vice versa. The team with the most players by the end of the
game wins.

• Equipment: goal, flags (to differentiate teams)

Spin and Run

Rules/Instructions: this is a simple game of racing but
with a twist. Players will split into two lines. The first
player of each line will spin around 10 times while
looking up at the ceiling or baseball bat then race to
the finish line and back. All members take turns. The
team that finishes first wins.

Key skills: coordination and endurance
Equipment: baseball bat or broom
Space req: half court
Time req: 6 mins

Dodgeball

• Rules/Instructions: divide group into teams of two and
have them stand on opposite side soft the gym. When
the teacher yells go, both team will race for dodgeball
aligned in the center of the gym. Members will try to
get each other out by throwing balls across the gym.

• Key skills: coordination, cardio
• Equipment: soft balls
• Space req: half court
• Time req: 8 mins

Pruie

• Rules/Instructions: Everyone walks around with their eyes closed.
When they bump into someone they ask- “Pruie?” if “Pruie” is said
back to you then they are not the person you are looking for. The ref
will whisper to one person that they are “Pruie”. Pruie doesn’t have
to close their eyes and if somebody bumps into them ands asks
Pruie? They do not have to respond. This is the clue to join their
hand and open your eyes. The fun comes when there is just one
person left to find Pruie

Hula hoop pass

• Rules/Instructions: the whole class hold hands in a circle. The
objective it to pass the hula hoop to the person next to you
without breaking hands until it reaches the end.

• Key skills: team work and creative thinking
• Equipment: hula hoop
• Space req: half court
• Time req: 5 mins

Tug of war

• Rules/Instructions: divide group into groups of two. Group
will pull on opposite ends of the rope until the center of the
rope crosses the designated line.

• Key skills: strength
• Equipment: rope
• Space req: half court
• Time req: 5 mins

Battle ball

• Rules/Instructions: divide group into teams of two and give
each member a soft ball. Place a large exercise ball at the
center court. The object is to move the exercise ball over a
predetermined area only by throwing the soft balls at it.

• Key skills: hand-eye coordination
• Equipment: exercise ball, soft balls
• Space req: half court
• Time req: 8 mins

Pin Ball Knockout

• Rules/Instructions: line up pins on the baseline of gym. Aline
balls on the center line. Members will each roll a ball and try
to hit a pin Members may not cross the center line.

• Key skills: hand- eye coordination
• Equipment: plastic bowling pins
• Space req: half court
• Time req: 8 mins

Cannon fire

• Rules/Instructions: students will divide into teams on two and
stand on opposite sides of the gym. When the teacher yells fire
a member of each team will throw the ball and try to hit an
object in the ocean. if an object is hit the member can collect
the object. Use left arm

• Key skills: hand eye coordination, strength
• Equipment: miscellaneous items (cones, hoops)
• Space req: half court
• Time req: 8 mins

Trash War

• Rules/Instructions: start with two teams on opposite side
of the gym and give each member a soft ball. The team
that gets all the balls on form the opposing side wins

• Key skills: cardio
• Equipment: soft balls
• Space req: half court
• Time req: 8 mins

Relay races

• Rules/Instructions: divide group into teams of three.
Members will race to the finish line and back while
skipping until one team wins.
