ِبْسِم اللِهالَّرْحٰمِن الَّرِحْيِم
Mursalat Isim maf’ :(اسم المفعول) ul the object noun the noun that receives the action of the verb refers to objects or entities that are sent forth 2 interpretations of what these objects could be: The winds The angels The main purpose of this entities is to bring goodness The default characteristic of the winds are actually "strong" and "wild." The winds in this verse are being compared to wild horses that are released Allah indeed restrains the winds, and by His will, the winds become ‘tame’ , gentle and breezy. derived from the root word عرف فا ًۭرْع ُrefers to a gentle breezing wind, a pleasant wind. the root word عرف ,also conveys the meaning of the mane of a horse (the long hair growing from the neck of a horse) ا ُعْر ًۭف ا ًۭف ٰـِتُع ْر َل ُم ْر َس ْل ٱ َو ِت ُمْرَسَل ٰـ ْل َوٱ By those (winds) sentforth in gust 77:1 ِت ُمْرَسَل ٰـ ْل َوٱ The letter و) َwaw) serves as harf al Qasam; indicating an oath Allah swears by the winds , to emphasize the magnificence of His creation and to draw attention to the messages in the subsequent verses ا ِت ُعْر ًۭف ُمْرَسَل ٰـ ْل َوٱ
The root word of ْلَع ٰـِصَف ٰـِت" "عصف" is" ٱ ْلَع ٰـِصَف ٰـِت ٱ categorized as Isim Ma ’ rifah - the definite noun, which refers to that specific, the stormy and violent winds. When Allah releases them, the winds blow relentlessly, crushing anything in their path. Other verses in the Quran which describe عصف including (10:22) and (14:18) categorized as Isim Nakirahindefinite noun emphasizes the power and unpredictability of the winds, the indefinite nature of the destruction caused by the winds ا ًۭف َعْص ا ًۭف ٰـِت َع ْص ِصَف َع ٰـ ْل ٱ َف ِت ٰـ ِصَف ٰـ َع ْل ٱ َف And the winds that blow violently 77:2 ِت ٰـ ِصَف ٰـ َع ْل ٱ َف The letter ف) َfa) serves as Fa as-Sababiyyah, which used to indicate causation or reason It connects the preceding statement to the subsequent one In this context, it illustrates that it is indeed Allah who holds back the winds, and when He releases them, they become violent ا ًۭف ِت َعْص ٰـ ِصَف ٰـ َع ْل ٱ َف
The root word is رَشَن ,َwhich means "to spread" or "to scatter." It also means revive/resurrect. It refers to the winds performing the action of spreading or scattering The winds, scattering goodness and serenity, providing shelter, hope, and bringing forth life (resurrection) according to the will of Allah it represents the action of spreading or scattering It illustrates the winds aiding in the formation of clouds, which then expand and spread, eventually resulting in the formation of different cloud types (from cirrus, stratus to cumulus and cumulonimbus, providing shade and rain) ا ًۭر َنْش ا ًۭر ِت َن ْش ِشَٰر ٰـ َّن ٱل َو ِت َٰر ِش ٰـ َوٱلَّن And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 77:3 ِت َٰر ِش ٰـ َوٱلَّن The letter و) َwaw) is harf al Qasam. Allah makes an oath by the winds, but refers to the winds with a different function from the preceding verses ا ًۭر ِت َنْش َٰر ِش ٰـ َوٱلَّن
ا ًۭق ْر ٰـِت َف َق ِر ٰـ َف ْل ٱ َف And ˹by˺ those ˹angels˺ fully distinguishing ˹truth from falsehood˺ 77:4 ا ًر ْك َي ٰـِت ِذ ِق ْل ُم ْل ٱ َف and those delivering revelation 77:5 ا ًر ُن ْذ ْو َأ ا ًر ُع ْذ ending excuses and giving warnings 77:6 The guidance brought forth clearly differentiates between right and wrong, serving as both a lesson and a warning. It leaves us with no justification for not improving ourselves, and serves as a reminder of the consequences of persisting in rejection
We have the potential to be either good or bad It is only by firmly holding onto Allah and following His guidance that we can be safe, both in this world and the hereafter Otherwise, we will descend into the path of destruction. This lesson is also echoed in the story found in verses 2:30-39 of Al-Baqarah. Additionally it reminds me of the importance of taqwa, especially in managing emotions, stress, and challenges in life What can we learn from these verses?
