The school motto embodies the life and achievements of the late Ratu Sir Josefa Lalabalavu Yanayaliyali Sukuna,
a man of all seasons who at the time of his fruitful life, could easily have said “I have run the race!’’

To strive for higher things is very difficult because hurdles are placed all along the track to higher and noble
achievements. We can only achieve higher things if, like the great statesman himself, we work hard, practice

continuously and assiduously, have a vision in front of us and not allow ourselves to be waylaid from other
directions.

As Fiji moves ahead after vertical and horizontal reconciliation, she requires her citizens to have a vision, to work
hard at nation building and always strive for higher things. The school motto “For Higher Things We Strive”
provides us with the direction and the way forward.
