OBITUARY
Brian “Big B” Rhodes was born on June 3, 1962 to the union of Samuel
and Grace Rhodes, in Indianapolis Indiana, the older of their two sons. He
accepted Christ at a young age and was a member of Corinthian Baptist
Church. Brian attended North Central High School and later served in
the United States Marine Corp., receiving and honorable discharge.
While stationed at Camp Pendleton Marine Base, Brian met, fell in love,
and was later united in marriage with Stacy L. Rhodes on August 30,
1986. To this union two children were born, Erica and Joshua.
Brian served as a dedicated employee of the Kaiser Riverside Medical
Center since 1989, with his last sixteen years in the Engineering Depart-
ment. He was also a part of several committees and associations, one of the
most recent being the Kaiser Permanente African American Professional
Association, (KPAAPA). Brian was known throughout the hospital as a
kind and caring individual with the uncanny ability to “tell it like it is.”
Brian had a great sense of humor, and uncanny wit and a smile that would
light up a room. He shared his kindness with everyone he came in contact
with; even in the grocery store. It was not uncommon for him to leave the
store knowing the name, occupation, and maybe even the hobbies of the
person next to him. He was a mentor to fatherless boys, a “Mr. Fix-It” to
whoever needed him, and a friend that could always be depended on.
Cherishing his memory the most are his wife Stacy L. Rhodes, his parents
Samuel and Grace Rhodes, his brother Greg Rhodes, his daughter Erica
Wagila, his son Joshua Rhodes and many more family and friends.
