Rose Marie Adams was born in Cuyahoga, OH to Joseph and Lonnie Mae Caswell,
May 30,1951. As a young girl, Rose accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

Rose started her vocation as a talented self-taught seamstress. After graduating high
school, Rose would later marry her former husband Clifford Barnes, Jr. Under this union
Clifford Barnes III and Tina Barnes (McGee) were born. Rose would continue her career
and become a CNA Aide Orderly. Rose would later decide that she and her children would
take the journey to move to CA in 1981. In 1985, Rose would remarry to her former
husband Quincy Adams, Jr and would be the loving stepmother to Todd Adams and
Angela Adams (Ali). Under this union, Quincy Adams III and Mary Adams (Smith) were
born. She would work in Banking and Administrative fields after her move to California
until her retirement.

In 1990, Rose joined Calvary Baptist Church of Pacoima, CA under the leadership of
late Apostle William T. Broadous. Under this ministry, Rose would serve in the Willing
Workers Missionary Ministry, Usher Board, Choir, Women’s Ministry and would teach
Sunday School. Rose was unwavering in her faith and demonstrated that she took her
service unto God seriously and raised all her children to do the same. Rose would later
accept her calling to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. She would attend Calvary Baptist
Church Minister’s Training as well as attend classes at The King’s University, Van Nuys,
CA. to become licensed to preach and later ordained as Reverend. Rev. Rose was later
appointed Pastor of Sunday School and Christian Education. Rev. Rose was diligent in
service at Calvary Baptist Church until her move back to Cleveland, OH in 2008.

Upon her return to OH, Rose would soon retire from the work force and assist a local
church as a Private School (grades Pre-K - K) Teacher. Rose didn’t waste time and was
eager to serve the Lord immediately! Rev. Rose would transfer her membership and become
an active member at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland OH. She would
serve on the Associate Minister Board under the Pastorate of Rev. David Hughes, II.

Rev. Rose would offer her Pastoral experience in service until she went home to be
with the Lord July 01, 2020. Rose is remembered as a God fearing virtuous and powerful
woman of God who can throw down in the kitchen!

Tributes and Reflections

To god be the glory!!!!!!!! For the life of Rose Adams

I praise God for Rose Adams and for God placing us in a group where although we thought we knew some stuff from our young
days, we learned by being in the “willing workers ministry” as a young group in age from two (2) of our senior members mother Rosa
l. Broadous and sister Nancy Jones.

The Lord used these two to keep us in line and actually forcing us to read the word. But through this, Sister Rose Adams moved up and
up and up and she started teaching us and then she started practically preaching to us and then she was elevated to be an ordained minister.

We don’t know what is in store for us.

The funny thing is when she moved out of state and the Apostle William T. Broadous had ordained her to be a minister, she felt
that the pastor she had at the church was not going to accept it because he didn’t believe in women ministers.

Oh!!!!!!!!!!!Oh!!!!!!!!!!! But God saw fit for her pastor to let her deliver the message one Sunday and my sister Rev. Rose Adams
tore the house down and she sent me a copy of the cd. Well, I say all of that because we were only interested in meeting on Mon-
days for mission, but Rose was there for growth only God knew what was in plan for us. So at this time I must say although Rose
moved a long ways away and I did also we kept in touch.

She was a great friend and had a loving spirit even when her body was weakening she still had joy. I loved my sister and she is
out of the pain and she is where she is jumping and shouting.

Praise god for rose adams !!!!!!
-Sister Sharon Flanagan

Rose was a wonderful sister, mother and wife.
I love and miss my sister so very much!
- Humphrey

In loving tribute to my beloved sister, Rose, my heart is heavy at the absence of your presence.

Strong in faith, Rose was always full of the joy of the Lord and His Spirit. Her worship was for real. She never sugarcoated God’s
Word. She preached and taught the truth of God’s Word, whether you liked it or not. She was on assignment and on a mission for the
Lord!

Rose worshipped the Lord in Spirit and in Truth. Rose, you were indeed a Soldier in the Army of the Lord just as the song you
sang! Your life reflected this and your faith never wavered, in spite of your cloudy days.

I will cherish our sisterhood-fellowship as Willing Worker Missionaries: singing in the choir, the times of laughter, tears, and
talking for hours, catching up with one another. Praying and interceding for each other’s family and life issues. No matter what, Rose
had a Word in her spirit to share to lighten your spirit and brighten your day. Every conversation included a sermon!

Thank you my beloved sister for always shining your light inside and out. I praise God for bringing you into my life—the imprints
you left on my heart will remain forever. Your legacy and spirit lives on through your children, and all the lives you touched.

To the Family, may the joy of the Lord and His peace which surpasses all understanding, envelop each of you, as you think of her
this day and the days to come. She will “truly” be missed yet in our hearts “always.” Rest well my beloved sister, see you later!

- With love, your lil sis in Christ, Lela Jones-Avant

Rose was my Diva, and I miss my little sister!

Tributes and Reflections

My first memory of my Aunt Rose is when my Father, who was her oldest brother took my sister Jackie and I to visit
our grandmother Caswell. I think that I was around 8 or 9 years of age. Once getting to their house, what stuck out to
me was that there were Aunts and Uncles in every single room. The first room that I entered was my Aunt Rose’s room.
Now, the first thing that I noticed was that she was around the same age as me. A fact that she reminded me of the rest
of my life. We hit it right off. And as the years went by we became closer and closer. She went from being my Aunt Rose
to being my best friend, home girl that I could and would go to whenever I needed advice about my personal life and my
girlfriends. Even though we were born the same year I grew to look at her also as a mother figure. We both taught each
other forgiveness and she is the number one main reason that I am a believer today. The last ten years we would talk at
least once a week on the phone, sometimes two or three. Although I can’t hear her voice, I can feel her spirit with me every
day. I’m a better human being and man because of her. And not a day goes by that I don’t miss her or think of her. I also
know that I will see her again. - Jay Jackson

Rose looked after me when I was a little girl and I returned the favor when
she got sick. This is what our mom taught us to do. One story that I can remem-
ber was when we would get in trouble and our mom would say “ya’ll gon’ get it
in the morning”, we would oversleep. So when we would get up, Rose would say
“run Diane” while mom would get the belt.

I have so many fond memories of my sister. I miss her and I love her. - Diane

What does Sisterhood mean? Sisterhood means bringing together girls to uplift and empower
them to be confident within themselves and to be a light to others around them! It is about
accepting one another and being on the journey to learn and grow together.

Sis, when I met you for the first time, I knew then we had a connection. Throughout the
years, we helped each other to grow in so many ways. Now that you are gone, I remember all the
things you showed me, taught me and shared with me. You helped me understand myself. For
that I am so grateful and blessed to have had you in my life. You will always be in my heart and
I will always remember “Stay Focused On The Lord ‘’ with your pointer finger in the air.

I love Sis! - Your Soul Sister, Robin Brantley

My Sister Rose;
She was so radiant and an inspiration to all who knew her. She
pulled me out of a dark hole of despair into a new found commitment,
and growth in religion and relationships. She prayed like no other and
kept a captive audience. She taught me the Bible and how to live the life
of a true Christian. She was a religious scholar. She stole my heart and
the hearts of all she encountered. I truly miss my mentor, friend, and
sister in Christ. I will see her again, in our Father’s house where we will
be born again. - Val

Dear Family,
As you celebrate the life and legacy of Rose, my daughter in Christ and my friend.
One of my most cherished memories of her is how she used every opportunity to share
her faith and love for God with others. I know she will be missed by all whose lives were
touched by her. I pray that God’s gifts of faith, time, and memory help you to gather the
love you have been left with. May the sweet spirit of God fill your Hearts with peace and
comfort in every way during this time.

With heartfelt love and prayer, Grandma Nancy and Family

I challenge you to find a quiet, peaceful space, and set aside time daily to commune with God.
Began by addressing Him as “Our Father”. Acknowledge His Sovereignty asking Him to hallow
His Name in your personality, and in all your roles and activities. Ask for His will to be done,
for His kingdom to come in all your decisions and encounters. Make your petitions known to
Him forgiving others as freely as He has forgiven you. Affirm the Lordship of Jesus and summit
to the constant ministry of transformation by the Holy Spirit and when things become compli-
cated and confused, you will know and understand that God is at work in your life, especially
in the midst of trials, tribulation, misery and strife. He is at work in our lives even in the midst
of pain and suffering. My sisters & brothers, the next time you are in a state of panic…don’t…
pray…

Panic says: God says:
All things are possible
It’s impossible
I will give you rest
I’m too tired I love you

Nobody really loves me I will direct your steps
I forgive you
I can’t figure things out
I will supply all your needs
I can’t forgive myself I have not given you a spirit of fear
I’ve given everyone a measure of faith
I can’t manage I will never leave you or forsake you

I’m afraid

I don’t have enough faith

I feel all alone

Don’t Panic…Pray and rely on the one who can make a way out of no way, and His name is
Jesus!!! - excerpt from sermon “Don’t Panic, Pray” - Rev. Rose Adams
