Obituary

Artence Bouyer Culver, was born on September 2, 1915 to the late
William and Alma (Davis) Bouyer in Barbour County near Eufaula
Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years,
Homer Floyd Culver and two sons George and Otis. She was the
fourth child of 14 siblings. Nine siblings preceded her in death (Leroy,
Truman, Almon, Annie, Tim, JC, AB, Napoleon and Will).
She was baptized at an early age at Spring Hill Baptist Church. She
lived out her Christian faith through her examples of being a true
believer.
She was united in Holy Matrimony at the age of 19, to Homer
Floyd Culver and thereafter, joined the New Hope Baptist Church
in Abbeville, Alabama. Years later, when they relocated to the
Bethlehem community, they became members of Bethlehem Baptist
Church. They spent many devoted years grooming their children
in the Christian faith. Artence later moved her membership to the
Church of Christ in Abbeville, Alabama under Larry Rouse and
Gary Carter Sr. She lived up to her biblical principles by taking care
of the sick, visiting those in need, and spreading the message of Christ
Jesus to all who crossed her path. She read her Holy Bible daily and
called it her spiritual food. She delighted in preparing physical food
for visitors as well.
She leaves to cherish her memories (4) children: Willie Floyd
(Otha), Mary Edwards, Joseph, Abbeville, Alabama; Veatta
Johnson, Shreveport, Louisiana. (1) Daughter-in-Law Irie Dell,
