I’m Free
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free,
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found that place at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and share with me
God wanted me now, He set me free.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee,
blessed art thou among
women, and blessed is the
fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners, now
and at the hour
of our death. Amen.
Dear Nanny,
Thank you for being our lovely Nana. You are always close to my heart no matter where you are. I thought that
we were close before and didn't think we could get any closer to heart than we were...until yesterday. I sat in St.
Theresa's Church where you and I and our family have spent over 20 years celebrating our sacraments, special
programs and graduations of Aimee, John, Cole's and mine. Father Mathew prayed with me, for you and for
the strength of our family. When I was praying with Fr., the Holy Spirit blessed me with the strongest reaffir-
mation of my faith. I looked around the Church, at the Baptismal Fountain, the Tabernacle, over at the statue
of Mary and Joseph, the candles and the stained glass windows, picturing the times you have stood with us
there. I felt you with me, deep in my heart. The calm that I felt knowing that the beauty of living a Christian
life, like you have, is that your soul goes with God, to the Kingdom of Heaven. Who you are is what helped me
become who I am, You have been a very influential, kind, loyal and genuine loved one in all of our lives. I love
you dearly. PS. Thanks for always keeping our talks "in the vault"
Love always, your Grand-daughter, Nicole
Dear Nanny Ladybug,
I love you and thanks for the five bucks. I would have put it in my college fund but I was too busy thinking
about toys. I love you so much and wish you were with me in Scottsdale, Arizona. I want you to be with me no
matter where I am. I'm happy that you're in a better place now, where there is a never ending coffee river,
cinnamon rolls and smokes, and where you can never die of cancer again. Please send me some ladybugs- I'm
gonna miss catching bugs with you. I'm proud to be your Godson and Great-Grandson. Thank you for being
my Godmother. Love, Cole.
Hi Nana!
You know, at first I was sad because I'm really going to miss talking to you on the phone and hanging out. But
then I went for a walk outside and was looking at all the desert plants and Camelback Mountain- and I
thought- NOW YOU'RE FREE! You are free to go to Arizona whenever you want, you can go to the beach and
squish your toes in the sand, you can even come to Africa with me and see all my kids and the place that I love
so much. So, I'm happy for you- and sure, I'll continue to miss you but not too much because now you're right
there with me. Thanks for always being my pal! I love you so much!
