In Loving Memory

On Wednesday, August 19, 2020, Heaven and its angels
sang out your name to call you home,

seeking to embrace and welcome in another follower.
To fill you with God’s Holyness, grace, mercy,
and the ultimate peace.

“For I know the plans I have for you,”
declares the LORD,

plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.

Then you will call on me and come and pray to me,
and I will listen to you.

You will seek me and find me when
you seek me with all your heart.
I will be found by you,” declares the Lord.

Footprints
One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along the
beach with the Lord. Across the sky
flashed scenes from his life. For each
scene he noticed two sets of footprints in
the sand: one belonging to him,

and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed

before him, he looked back at the
footprints in the sand. He noticed that
many times along the path of his life
there was only one set of footprints. He
also noticed that it happened at the very

lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he

questioned the Lord about it: “Lord, you
said that once I decided to follow you,
you’d walk with me all the way. But I
have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life, there is
only one set of footprints.

I don’t understand why when I needed you most,
you should leave me.

The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child.
I love you, and I would never, never leave you

during your times of trial and suffering.
When you saw only one set of footprints,

it was then that I carried you.

When God was making husbands as far as I can see,
He made a special soulmate especially for me.

He made a perfect gentleman, compassionate and kind,
With more love and affection than you could ever wish to find.
He gave my darling husband a heart of solid gold, only my heart can hold,

He was someone I could talk to that no one can replace,
He was someone I could laugh with ‘till tears ran down my face,

When I see you standing there I won’t cry anymore.
I will put my arms around you and kiss your smiling face,
Then the pieces of my broken heart will fall back into place.
