Conclusion

4 Conclusion

The research was conducted in order to provide appropriate interior design solutions for an opera house.
This required some research and case study. The first chapter speaks about the history, concept and
considerations. In this, it shows how from ancient Greek amphitheatres it shifted to temporary theatres
which later turned into permanent halls. In the end, bigger and more royal halls were used for opera mainly,
thus the name opera house arrived. The concept of the project is biophilic design. In this chapter, it speaks
about the patterns and advantages of biophilic design and how to implement it correctly in an interior space.
The chapter speaks about considerations like smart technology, sustainability and acoustic comfort. The
second chapter is about case studies conducted on opera houses. The first one being the Sydney opera house
which is the most popular one. It showed the standards for the best opera house to be made. The second
one being Dubai opera house, which is a local opera house. This showed local standards and what is missing
that can be added in this project. The third one is the Guangzhou opera house in China. This is a modern
opera house breaking the classical style of opera houses. This showed design standards of an opera house
in a modern sense. The third chapter is conducted design programming for the project based on all the
information collected. For future research, the connection of biophilic design to sustainability, technology
and acoustics should be considered more.
