PROOF ~Estella Deloris Jackson~
Estella Deloris Peoples Jackson, also known as Mollie to family and
friends, was born August 10, 1945, in Mobile, Alabama to Leo and Mary Ida
Peoples. She was the 4th sibling of a total of 13 children.
Estella married Richard Lee Jackson Sr. in 1964 after graduating from
Central High School. Out of their union came their daughter, Patricia
Ann Peoples and Richard Lee Jackson Jr. They later moved to Los Angeles,
California with their young family. While Estella had several occupations,
she started her long and rewarding career with the Pasadena Unified School
District starting out as a cook, before being promoted to Food Service
Manager. Known for her generosity, Estella would often allow the staff to
serve seconds to the students. It has been stated that, “Pasadena students
had a new liking for cafeteria food.” After over 20 years of service and
dedication, and to the disappointment of the staff and students Estella
decided to retire.
Mollie’s home was always a place of enjoyment and comfort to us all,
where you could always get a home cooked meal. Mollie always prepared
dinner every day like it was “Sunday’s Best.” She enjoyed cooking as well as
baking and never hesitated to take special requests from family and friends.
Mollie always cooked with love and you could taste the love in every bite.
No matter what your favorite dish was, Mollie made it all.
As we come together to cherish such an amazing woman, she will forever
be remembered and loved; never forgotten. Although we cannot see her
presently, we know she will remain present in our hearts. Surrounded by
family, Estella was called home by our Heavenly Father on July 13, 2015. She
is truly an unforgettable woman.
As a Family we would like to say; to my wife, to our sister, to our mother, to
our grandmother, to our aunt…”One Love, Always and Forever.”
She was loved by many. Estella leaves behind her husband Richard L.
Jackson Sr. whom she cherished and loved for 51 years; her daughter
Patricia A. Peoples and son Richard L. Jackson Jr.; her grandchildren
Christopher Jackson (Jessica), DyAnn Jeffers-Ashpaugh (Jeffery), Jennifer
Jeffers; her great-grandchildren Jonathan, Alexandria, Santino, Jasen,
