Mom I love you and I always will.
Love,
Your Son, Donald

It was a privilege for me far greater than I could ever put into words the beautiful
and loving moments I shared with my mother in the last minutes of her life. As I
saw her life fade away, there was more said at that moment than ever in a lifetime
could be said between a mother and daughter. I love you and I know neither one of
us wanted to be the rst to say goodbye.

Your Daughter, Angela

"When I Must Leave You"
by Helen Steiner Rice

When I must leave you
For a little while-

Please do not grieve
And shed wild tears
And hug your sorrow to you
Through the years,
But start out bravely
With a gallant smile;

And for my sake
And for my name

Live on and do
All things the same,
Feed not your lonliness

On empty days,
But fill each waking hour

In useful ways,
Reach out your hand
In comfort and in cheer
And I in turn will comfort you
And hold you near;

And never, never
Be afraid to die
For I am waiting for you in the sky!

Obituary

Cynthia entered the world on June 8, 1957 in Miami. She was the third born child of Mr.
Edgar and Mrs. Frances Manker. Her mother states that she was intelligent, energetic and
remarkably social at a very young age. She began walking at seven months and one of
her favorite items was a telephone. As the members of a military family, prior to her high
school graduation she had lived in 5 states and 3 countries. Still she easily adapted to
each new social and academic setting and quickly made friends wherever she went.
With great joy Cynthia gave birth to her first born daughter Shauntelle on February 17,
1983. Eight years later, her heart grew as her second daughter Kiahna was born on April
14, 1991. Cynthia took great pride in parenting. She mothered with an unprecedented
magnitude of sacrificial love. Despite financial hardship, including periods of homeless-
ness, she endeavored to provide her girls with the highest education, getting both through
graduation from the prestigious Chadwick School. She led by example as she obtained
her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Then she exuberantly celebrated Ki-
ahna’s college entrance and Shauntelle’s medical Doctorate degree.
As a devout Christian, Cynthia was committed to sharing Christ’s love with others. She
dedicated herself to serving and helping those in need. She took great pride in teaching
children the Word as a Sunday school teacher for over 30 years. She was exceptionally
sociable, and joined several philanthropic organizations such as: City Lites and the Ingle-
wood Area Minister’s Association. She served with Volunteer in Service to America as an
education coordinator for the Academic Center of Excellence. Cynthia had extensive man-
agement, administrative and event planning skills, stemming from her work experience in
public administration. Cynthia was the CEO of CSK Communications, a public relations
firm and was contracted as Associate Editor of Inglewood Today Newspaper. Through her
CSK Communications public relations company, she engaged in several media and com-
munity events and met hundreds of people.
Nearly ten years ago, Cynthia was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus, sclero-
derma, and interstitial lung disease. In November 2011 she suffered a stroke, which left
the left side of her body partially paralyzed, followed by repeat stroke in March 2015.
Despite her many health challenges, she maintained a cheerful attitude, gracious spirit,
and vivacious personality. Following a several week battle with pneumonia, surrounded by
family, Cynthia’s journey on earth ended and heavenly jubilation began on September 9,
2015.
Cynthia leaves behind her mother Frances Manker, three brothers Jewel, Edgar, and Eric
Manker, her sister Sylvia and Gloria Manker, her two daughters Shauntelle and Kiahna,
a son-in-law Timothy Senkungu, three nephews Dion, Devin Darrien Manker, and two
grandsons Titus and Timothy Senkungu. She also had a host of deeply revered uncles,
aunts, cousins and very close friends.

Family Messages

To my darling daughter Cynthia…I thank God for blessing me with 58 years of a loving and
wonderful daughter. So now you are in a better place- at peace and rest. I will miss you and love
you always and I will see you again someday in Heaven. Your loving mother.

- Frances Manker

There are angels that walk amongst us. I had the honor and privilege of being the sister of an
angel, Cynthia, who graced us with all her compassion, warmth and love while she was here.
Her presence was amazing and her love unlimited. She will be forever in my heart and a part
of my soul. Her journey was full of challenges of which she smiled through with wisdom and
forgiveness. Cynthia will not soon be forgotten and will be forever loved.

- Sylvia Manker

My memories of you are overflowing. I can picture so many moments with you in such detail it’s
like you haven’t really left at all. I see your bright smile, I hear your infectious laugh, and I re-
member what a great life I’ve had has your daughter. You have always been everything to me. A
mother, a father, provider, protector, and a constant source of joy and love. You’re unique view
of life has shaped who I am. Your unrelenting faith, through joys and extreme hardships, has
been the foundation of my faith in Christ. Since I was four I’ve seen you endure daily physical
pain. And now you are free from it all, living freely with our heavenly Father. I will patiently wait
for the day I get to see you dancing and rejoicing in your new body. I miss you so very much,
but I can’t be sad for very long knowing you’re in everlasting peace and rest. I love you mommy!

- Kianna Manker

Mom, you were my very best friend and biggest supporter. You taught me patience, uncondi-
tional love, kindness, forgiveness and servitude. You were a living example of a true Christian
with a sincere faith. For much of my life you operated as both mother and father, and I will be
forever grateful. Because of you I’m a better wife, mom, sister, niece, cousin and friend. Thank
you for 58 years of giving me you’re absolute best. I praise God that you’re now free of ill-
ness and pain, and in the presence of our majestic Father. I love you MOMMY!!! Until we reunite
again…

"God’s Garden"

God looked around the garden
and saw an empty space.

He then looked down upon the
earth and saw your tired face.

He put his arms around
you and lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful
for he only takes the best.
He saw the road was getting rough,
and the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids
and whispered “Peace be thine.”
It broke our hearts to lose you,
but you did not go alone;
For part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.

Mommy Dearest

Mommy Dearest you will always be
My mother so loving and so loved by me
For God has taken you to be by his side
Now in Heaven is where you will reside
You have blessed my life in so many ways
I will cherish our memories until the end of my days
You left me too soon and this was not part of our plan
But God's wishes always come before those of man
Without you I must travel the path alone
No longer my guide, the way you had shown
Your heart my have been weak, but you were strong
For your loving embrace I will always long
God sent you to me as a special gift from above
To teach me life's lessons and shower me with your love
I will always remember your beautiful and smiling face
In my heart you will always have a very special place
A special bond we shared like no other
For this is possible for only Daughter and Mother
I thanked God for each day we were able to share
But without you in my life it is too difficult to bear
Being with God, I hope you will find joy and peace
In this I can find comfort and some happiness at least
For Mommy Dearest you will always be
My Mother so loving and so loved by me
