Obituary

Darrell Echols Jr was born in Gardena, California on October 7, 1979 to Lydia

Sims and Darrell Echols Sr. He received his education at Mark Twain Elementary,
Van Guard Jr. High, Centennial High and Long Beach City
College.

He was a very good helper and lover of people. He was a very funny kind of guy

who was always making others laugh. He would attend church with his mother at
City of Refuge under the leadership of Bishop Noel Jones. He had a special love for
his mom who was the apple of his eye and a good relationship with his father. They
would spend time together fishing and barbequing.

On Saturday November 22, 2014, Darrell Echols Jr. passed away. He leaves to

cherish his memories his father Darrell Echols Sr; his mom Lydia Sims; the mother
of his children Caprice Lee; three beautiful children: Iyonna, Courtney and Darrell
Echols I; two sisters: Latasha Murray and Melissa Brown of Los Angeles, California;
his fiancée whom he loved so much, Hilda Toles; five aunts: Diana (Sammie)
Pleasant, Anita Jones, Bernadette Echols, Carololyn Echols and Sandra Johnson
all of Los Angeles; five uncles: Broderick Echols, Michael Culpepper, Harold Sims,
Frank Jones and Marion Jones all of Los Angeles, California; and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends.

Remembering Darrell

“THE BROKEN CHAIN”

We little knew that day,
God was going to call your name.

In life we loved you dearly,
In death, we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you.

You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide.
And although we cannot see you,

You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

To Those I Love &
Those Who Loved Me

When I am gone, release me, let me go,
you have so many things to see and do.
You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears.
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,

But now I must travel on my own.
So grieve for a while, for if grieve you must, Then let your

grief be comforted by trust. It’s only for a time that we
must part, Now share the memories within your heart.
I won’t be far away for life goes on. Though we can’t touch,

I’ll still be near, within memories so soft and clear.
Listen with your heart and you will find,
my love, a song within your mind.
