PROOFReflection of a Life, Blessed and Well Lived
O n September 08, 1942, Lee’s parents, Willie, and Willie Mae Woodard along with his
siblings welcomed the birth of their fourth child and he was introduced as Lee Andrew
Woodard, which was a blessed day in Shreveport, Louisiana. The sun set on March 11,
2021, the day he transitioned to his new mansion that was purposely prepared for him in
heaven, (John 14:2).
A few of Lee Andrew Woodard’s biggest accomplishments were being a husband, father, granddaddy,
son, brother, and uncle. He accepted the Lord at an early age and always, until his transition “kept
his hands in Gods’ hands.” He attended, “St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership
of Pastor Lovely Haynes. It was there that he became part of the “Brotherhood Auxiliary.” He was a
faithful member until his transition. He attended school in Shreveport, Louisiana and graduated from
Booker T. Washington in 1961. Lee furthered his education in Los Angeles at a Trade School and later
worked for Roadway Express, (formally Western Gillette), which he accepted an early retirement.
Throughout his life he contributed to many, including his family, community, and a plethora of
organizations and charities. Lee Andrew Woodard established, “Woody’s Children Foundation,”
where he donated his time, toys, and gift of love to underprivileged children during Christmas time.
He encouraged his grandchildren to accompany him so that they knew the true meaning of giving to
those less fortunate.
Anyone who spent time with him knew that Lee’s spare time was spent on the golf course on the 18th
hole. If he was not on the golf course, he was in Vegas in the Casino’s. He loved to travel back and
forth with his buddy Tom in his van to Shreveport, or in his motor home up North. He was a proud
man who made sure all were taken care of and always, said to, “parlay your money, so that you will
have something in the future.”
He was reunited with his parents, his brothers: Jimmy and Leon Woodard, and his grandson, Marcus
Christopher Lee Crow who preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish memories, his brother Jesse
Woodard (Izella) of Glendora, CA., Sisters Mary Louise Little, of Cedar Park, Texas., Beatrice Deloach
(Ray), of Menifee, CA., Helen Kyles (Robert Sr.), and Betty Harris, both of Los Angeles, CA.
Lee’s children, Lee Andrew Smith (Beverly), of Lakewood, CA, Carla Crow (Marcus), of Rosena
Ranch, CA, and his youngest son Todd Woodard will continue to celebrate his life. Lee leaves behind
his legacy, 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, and a host of
nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and the list goes on. He will be solely missed by
all who knew and loved him.
As all great and blessed stories must come to an end, Lee Andrew Woodard, story only ends on this
side. He has joined his beloved wife, Juanita Patricia Woodard who was waiting for him at the pearly
gates of heaven. She ushered him in to our Father in heaven and placed his hand in Gods’ hand. We
as followers of God realize that we will never die but live an eternal life in heaven in our mansion that
is prepared for us all. We leave with you these famous words of Lee Andrew Woodard, “Continue to
keep your hands in Gods’ hands.”
