Obituary
Travis Burnett Edwards, Sr was born August 29, 1949 in Los Angeles,
CA to Clinton B. Edwards, Sr. and Berlee Edwards (who preceded him
in death). Travis grew up in South Central Los Angeles and graduated
from Manual Arts High School.
Travis loved sports and as a young child loved to play marbles. He also
would invent stunts on his bike to impress his little sisters. As a child
Travis demonstrated that he was not afraid to live on the edge. Travis
was a very intelligent man. He was straightforward and was willing to
offer words of wisdom or advice to those who asked.
Travis was a loving person who deeply loved his family. He was a
protector of those he loved. If you needed anything and he had the
ability to take care of it, he would without any hesitation. He spent the
last couple of years taking care of his ill father.
Although Travis faced many life challenges, it never changed the love
he had in his heart. He lived a full life in spite of the obstacles he faced.
He loved an embraced those around him with those long arms and with
his fearless heart. Those of us who knew him, who loved him, and even
got angry with him, will miss him greatly.
Travis departed this life on January 9, 2014 and leaves to cherish his
memory his father, Clinton B. Edwards, Sr , the love of his life Rebecca
Lee, sons Kevin (Stephanie) Edwards, Travis B Edwards, Jr., and Tejawn
B. Edwards. His daughter Tamasha Edwards. His brother, Clinton B.
Edwards, Jr. His sisters, Betty (Elijah) Allen, Barbara (Charles) Bell,
Dorothy Allen, Clenetta Gory, and Renay Butler. One Uncle, Nathaniel
Hurd. His grandkids, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
