Internal Combustion Engine

France 1859
The first combustion engine was created Lenoir's motor was a two-cycle,
one-cylinder engine with slide valves and used coal gas as a fuel. It also used an
electrical charge, supplied by a battery, to ignite the gas after it was drawn into the
cylinder. Inventor Éttien Lenoir, Jean-Joseph created the first working Internal
Combustion engine.
The gas engine
Karls benz was the first person to create the gas powered internal combustion
engine while Éttien Lenoir, Jean-Joseph created the first working coal Internal
Combustion engine.
Innovation
This engine was used mostly for automobiles. It can also be used for tractors. This
engine was used to make a crankshaft turn, turning the wheels. Once the wheels
start moving then it makes the vehicle move. Cars, tractors, planes, motorcycles
all used this type of gasoline motor.
Impact
The internal combustion engine had a big impact because it was used to power
tractors on fields making it easy to farm crops. This would have led to an increase
in population and more food making the community healthier crops also would
have gotten cheaper since there is more food. The engine also made it easy to get
from one place to another faster because you would not have to go by foot,
instead you could go on wheels or in air.
