Page Issue 2, December 2023 3 Messages In the year of sustainability, the UAE hosting COP 28 underscores the country’s commitment to global environmental initiatives. The AKMG Presidents theme “Our Earth, Our Home,” aligns with the UAE’s sustainability theme “Today for Tomorrow”. This emphasizes our shared responsibility for the environment. The realization that our planet is collectively ours to protect resonates deeply. We are residents on Earth for a short Dear AKMG family members, Post the grand convention in May, I was expecting a lull in the activities. But contrary to my expectations all the regions have kept me on while; let us leave it as we found it or even better. Our trajectory is aligned in the right direction. We initiated a Harvest Festival featuring harvest dances and emphasised recycling and reusing through the Trashion show. We aimed to instill knowledge and enhance advocacy for sustainability and environmental protection in our children through the JAM with nature and an Environmental Quiz. “Haritholsavam,” was introduced inviting gardening enthusiasts to showcase inventive prowess in a balcony garden competition, fostering a more sustainable lifestyle—one balcony at a time. In synergy with the Emirates Environment Group, AKMG Emirates engaged in impactful clean-up campaigns. my toes.
