IMPORTANT:
When changing lawn maintenance from chemical to organic, be aware that this may take some time. Most

lawns respond within 3-4 weeks, however, depending on current conditions of the lawn it could take several months.
Chemicals and Organics tend to cancel each other out.

AgriVet™ is one of the few products that works extremely well with smaller amounts of chemicals. This may
be necessary the first application or two, as we often have to wean many soils off chemicals. AgriVet™ is a product
that is in a live vegetative state and initially may even work where large amounts of chemical fertilizers and pesticides
have been used. However, moving forward, ONLY organic materials and methods will be recommended.

Do not expect overnight green-up of every lawn, as most times the soil and AgriVet™ must have time to get
acclimated to the new organic method of fertilization. Some lawn areas respond to use of AgriVet™ much faster than
others depending on the condition you find in each soil, which is usually different!

PROFORMA 3. Basic Guidelines for Using AgriVet™

Landscapers’ Commercial Lawn & Garden Maintenance Program

Instructions for Lawns, Gardens, Trees and Shrubs–Application of 5000 Sq. Ft.

APPLICATION SOLUTION:
1. Mix 2 oz. AgriVet™ into 2 gallons of water.
2. *If needed: Mix 2-4 oz. molasses into above solution optional (if you need a carbon source), or incorporate grass

clippings, compost, animal manures, or animal manure teas.
3. Use any type of organic or inorganic nitrogen. We recommend organic nitrogen, however, an acceptable

inorganic nitrogen (NPK) such as the Schultz™ Liquid Nitrogen brand works just fine. Just follow the
instructions on the box,*4 teaspoons per 2 gallons of water. This and other inorganic NPK products can be
purchase at any local garden center. Once AgriVet™ and other materials are blended together, always use the
mixture within 3-5 days.
4. Always mix thoroughly before applying to lawn and then water thoroughly after application.
5. Spray entire solution on 5000 Sq. Ft. area.
6. Apply evenly every 30-60 days year round.

Landscaper’s approximate cost per 5000 Sq. Ft. area is $3.75. The estimated time to apply these materials is
20 to 30 minutes for (1) one application to lawns, gardens, trees and shrubs.

OPTIONAL: Helpful Hints to Power Up your APPLICATION SOLUTION
1. Use hot water when mixing (up to 100-110) DO NOT use water over 110.
2. Mix your ‘APPLICATION SOLUTION’ and sit in the sun for 1-2 days before applying.
3. Nitrogen excites bacteria for faster growth and better uptake of nurturance.

IMPORTANT: For best results always use AgriVet™ with a small amount of Organic or Inorganic Nitrogen.

ORGANIC: “Bat Guano” or "Dairy Cattle” manure teas are two of the very best forms of organic nitrogen you can
use as nitrogen and carbon sources. “Manure Tea” is very easy to make and usually very cost effective, if you have
access to these manures. Call us if you are interested in doing this, we will also give you instructions on how to brew
up your own “Manure Tea”.

Most organic nitrogen and carbon source materials to be used with our AgriVet™ Lawn and Garden System are

available at all Garden Centers.

IMPORTANT NOTE: AgriVet™ also works extremely well with small amounts of chemical fertilizers. Chemical fertilizers

are recommend only when organic products are not available or only where excessive amounts of chemical fertilizers have been
used and a “weaning” program needs to be utilized for a gradual change from chemical to organic soil management. Rapid
conversion from chemical to organic soil management usually cannot be realized overnight. Sometimes a month, a year, to
several years is needed for the soil to adapt and for the chemical residues to be used, leached out, or degraded.

AgriVet™ for Poor Soils, Lawns, Grasses & Grains

“Always use AgriVet™ with your Nitrogen applications.”

Most soils throughout the world are in poor condition due to excessive use of chemical
fertilizers and pesticides, climate conditions, deforestation, erosion, over grazing and a wide range
of other factors.

Over a period of time, depending on current soil conditions, most soils can be reclaimed with a
management system that centers around elevating the organic matter content of the soils while
reducing chemical fertilizers and pesticides. This can be done in many ways such as re-
incorporating crop residues back into the soil after each growing season, adding compost, cattle
manures (dairy cattle manure is best), manure teas, crude oil, humus, fish by products and oils,
wood chips, molasses and a wide range of other organic substances to the soil.

To ensure a carbon and nutrient source for the soil microorganisms in poor soils, we highly
recommend blackstrap or feed grade molasses as an excellent product to use with AgriVet™ where
you have low organic matter conditions. Even better, combine AgriVet™ and molasses with any of
the above referenced organic substances if and as available locally to hold down costs.

When applying AgriVet™ to lawns and grassy areas, we highly recommend, if available,
adding 1 gallon to 3 gallons of molasses per acre or (4 liters to 12 liters per hectare/2.5 acres). A
second application of 1 gallon per acre (4 liters per hectare) is ideal if applied 60 days after initial
application.

Minimum Molasses (CARBON) If available locally. Application Rates noted below are based on soil’s
present content of organic matter:

1.5% 2 gallons per acre, or 6 liters per hectare
1.0% 3 gallons per acre, or 12 liters per hectare

Molasses is a very inexpensive product and is generally available in most parts of the world. If necessary,
additional water (warm water is best) can be added to the dilution (up to 200-1) if filters tend to get clogged
with standard applicators. DO NOT extend this application over larger areas than specified.

INSTRUCTIONS for TURF/LAWNS/GRASSES: For best results, thoroughly shake AgriVet™ concentrate
then dilute by adding (1) one liter (quart) of AgriVet™ concentrate into 100 Liters (25 gallons) of water. Mix
thoroughly before applying this dilution over (1) one hectare (2-½ acres) then sprinkle/water area thoroughly. If
using pivot or flood irrigation, 1-½ to 2 parts of AgriVet™ may be needed on first application, then apply the 20
gallons of dilution per acre. For best results, apply as early in the season as possible. Mow and water grass
before using AgriVet™ and water again after application. Always dilute (1) one part AgriVet™ with 100
parts water and apply in conjunction with your nitrogen applications. Apply every 60 days for best results. Use all
diluted product within 3-5 days. For lawns: Mix 1 oz. AgriVet™ into 1 gallon of water and apply to 2,500 sq. ft.
area.

NOTE: Due to thick thatch and dense grass foliage, mixing with twice as much water is usually recommended, as
the water is used as a carrier for AgriVet™ to get into the root area of the soil.

Liebig’s “Law of the Minimum” was developed in the 1840’s by Dr. Justus von Liebig

“The principle guiding our mission is based on this profound irrefutable revelation.”

“The crops on a field diminish or increase in exact proportion to the
diminution or increase of the mineral substance conveyed to it in manure.”

(Manure, in this sense, is anything applied to the soil to serve as plant nutrient.)

Liebig’s “Law of the Minimum” stressed the value of mineral
elements derived from the soil in plant nutrition and the necessity of
replacing them to maintain soil fertility.

ILLUSTRATION: The yield potential of a crop is like a barrel with
staves of unequal length. The capacity of the barrel is limited by the
length of the shortest stave (in this case, K-potassium) and can only
be increased by lengthening that stave. When that stave is
lengthened, another one becomes the limiting factor.
