Career Summary

Before coming to Rogers Independent School District, Dr. Bonds was an
elementary teacher in Houston, Texas and in Holland, Texas. In 1989, she
became principal of Holland’s elementary school. In 1995, she came to Rogers
ISD as superintendent of schools. Because of her personal experience with breast
cancer, she saw the need of the people in Rogers to have access to health care
services. Dr. Bonds applied for and received a grant for a school based clinic that
served not only the students of Rogers but the whole community, as well. She left
Rogers to be superintendent in Livingston, Texas. She served there for three
years. Finally, she ended her career as superintendent in San Angelo, Texas in
2015.

Childhood

Dr. Carol Ann Bonds was born in Jackson,
Mississippi. Her mother was a teacher and her
father was in the military. Therefore, she move
around many times. She has lived in various
places such as New York, Massachusetts,
Alabama, and Texas.

Education

Dr. Bonds graduated high school one year early in
Mississippi . She earned a bachelor's degree in
English and elementary education from Houston

Baptist University. She earned a master's degree in
Reading from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor.

Finally, she earned a Phd. in public school
leadership and educational leadership from the

University of Texas in Austin in 1994.

Conclusion -Where is she now?

Dr. Carol Ann Bonds retired on August 31, 2015,
concluding her career in public education. She and
her husband, Charlie, plan to stay in San Angelo.
They will continue to volunteer in the community

and in their church.
