Dionne Johnson Calhoun




SPEAKER | COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGIST | POLITICAL ADVISOR


Dionne Johnson Calhoun is the proud owner of Calhoun Communications, a strategic
public relations and boutique communications firm. Dionne also is a motivational
speaker, writer, TV host, and political strategist, with the motto of creating
“Strategy to Win.” In addition, Calhoun is the Executive Producer and Host of the
#CalhounComm cable television show, highlighting small business owners, the arts,
entertainment, youth and women›s empowerment. Her work has been featured
in People Magazine, the Washington Post, Washington Business Journal, and the
Examiner.
As a former US congressional aide and DC Council staffer, Dionne strategized to
advance legislation in the areas of pay equity, healthcare and education.
Calhoun is an accomplished singer and trained dancer. Her performances have included
the 2009 Super Bowl, where she sang backup for Bruce Springsteen’s half-time show; at
the Kennedy Center Honors; and President Obama’s pre-inaugural ceremony.
Dionne got her start in television as an 18-year-old producer with DC28, where she recruited high school students
to discuss issues facing the District public school system. As a college student, Calhoun interned in the newsroom of
WJLA ABC7 and News Channel 8. Her production work at Howard University’s WHUR 96.3 featured President Barack
Obama’s State of the Union Address, health issues and numerous other important topics.

Dionne holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Maryland and serves on the Black Alumni
Executive Board. She is a member of Top Ladies of Distinction Incorporated. Dionne was initiated into Alpha Kappa
Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Rho Mu Omega Chapter in December 2016 and serves as Vice-Chair of the Connection
Committee.

Calhoun was recently honored with a Ward One “In Her Honor” award for her tireless community work. She and her
husband, Damien Calhoun, are native Washingtonians and the parents of three beautiful boys.

GUEST AUCTIONEER | WPGC NEWS DIRECTOR & ANCHOR


Guy Lambert is one of the most recognized voices in Washington, DC radio, currently
serving as the News Director and Anchor for The Joe Clair Morning Show, on WPGC
95.5 FM.

Guy began his career as an intern with WPGC before venturing to New York,
reporting nationwide on numerous radio stations.

In 2005, Guy returned to the place he calls home, Washington, DC. His history in
broadcast radio spans across varies popular morning shows, including The Donnie
Simpson Show, The Big Tigger Show, Funky Larry Jones Morning Show, and The Tom
Joyner Morning Show.

An active member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and an avid environmentalist,
Guy places a strong emphasis on community involvement. He hosts “Community
Focus,” a weekly community affairs show airing on Sunday mornings on WPGC.
In addition, Guy maintains a busy schedule as an elite event host, emcee, and
entertainment correspondent.

For over a century, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,
Incorporated has served her community through
impactful initiatives that focus on education, health,

finance, and social justice. Launching New Dimensions
of Service (LNDS) combines traditional programs with
new concepts that are designed to improve the lives of those we serve. To "be
of service to all mankind" through innovative, high-impact programs has been
the hallmark of our sisterhood since 1908.


For almost 30 years, the ladies of Rho Mu Omega chapter have been

committed to honoring the legacy of Alpha Kappa Alpha by donating their
time and talents to the betterment of the Washington, DC Metropolitan
community. Breathing life into our 2017 mission, "A Sisterhood of Service
Impacting Our Community", Rho Mu Omega implements the sorority's
international programs on a local level focusing on Educational Enrichment,

Health Promotion, Family Strengthening, Environmental Ownership, and
