2017 not only marks d-Bodhi’s 10th anniversary but also the year in
which we participate in the International Singapore Furniture Fair for
the 10th time in a row! Here’s an overview of how our booth developed

CELEBRATING 10 YEARS

2017 marks the 10th anniversary of d-Bodhi, and we are
very happy to share our immense joy with you! During
the last decade our company, together with our loyal
partners and fans, has made a wonderful journey. Not only
did we establish ourselves worldwide as a trustworthy
creator and provider of eco-friendly furniture, we also
explored new ways of thinking and acting different.
For the last couple of years we worked with themes
like Aware, Awake and Alive. Now, we come to a new
important milestone: ENLIGHTENMENT! 
This is what d-Bodhi stands for; it’s literally what
Bodhi means in Sanskrit and it shows our attitude which
is reflected in the conscious choice to work almost
exclusively with recycled and reclaimed materials to
create products with deep respect for the environment
and our workers. In this way we work for a sustainable
future so we can have many more birthdays to celebrate!

THE POWER
OF THE DESERT

Drawing inspiration from the myriad shades of brown observed
in the Sahara Desert, d-Bodhi brings forth the Tuareg Collection.
The world’s biggest desert contains sand dunes and rock
formations that have stood and undergone changes since the
dawn of time.
The various tones that colour them are similar to the weathered
colours of the mixed reclaimed tropical woods used for this
collection.

SAHARA STYLE

The collection features a complex of different tones that
contrast one another. The placement of the various colours
against each other highlight the different types of wood
being used, as can be seen from the colours ranging from
soft pastels to a murkier dark and anything in between.
Typical for this collection are small wooden panels
placed at the back of the racks to give an extra
dimension to the furniture piece. The coating is smooth
and sophisticated. The dark granite colour emits a silky
glow when placed in the light.

No matter the size of your wall, with
SHELFMATE there is always a solution. You
can fill up the whole wall, make minimalistic
triptych-like compositions or place them
more randomly over the surface. In other
words, time to let out that off-the-wall
creativity!

that match exactly the dimensions of

Why is it called SHELFMATE?
The name comes from “shelf” since that is
essentially what it is. “Mate” is a very informal
synonym for friend or pal. We see these shelves
as someone who helps you find a solution
for your wall, no matter its size or shape.
SHELFMATE is also a wordplay on “self
made”. This is indeed a DIY concept. You
will have to assemble and hang it yourself.
But rest assured, you do not need advanced
tools; a drill and a marker will do. The box
contains all other hardware needed with
clear instructions and measurement tools.
Is SHELFMATE a ‘typical’ d-Bodhi product?
Without a doubt, SHELFMATE is definitely
a product born out of d-Bodhi’s core
philosophy. The use of reclaimed teakwood,
the fact that it is 100% handmade and the
innovative nature of the design are all
examples of the how we work. However, the
approach we took with designing SHELFMATE
is more directly targeting the end consumer.
Because of the flexible customisable nature
of the product, everyone will make his or her
own composition. It will be an interesting
dialogue between our product and the
creativity of the buyer, and we look forward
to the exciting journey!

PAPER ART

Pages from reclaimed magazines
are carefully hand rolled into tubes
that are twisted and connected
into amazingly durable paper rope.
This rope can be molded, woven,
stitched and folded into countless
shapes and patterns. This is the basic
origin of our Paper Art Collection.
Every year d-Bodhi brings forth new
designs. In 2017, we’ve chosen to go
extreme. Instead of using a wide range
of colors, we’ve limited our palette to
the opposites - black and white. This
resulted in a series of optical illusion-
like patterns that are both playful and
stylish.
