EE & TOK Progress Criteria
58
E Has not met any of the requirements set in the EE & TOK Progress
Criteria
c) CAS will be reported as Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory, depending on a student’s
participation in CAS activities and will be assessed by the CAS Coordinators using the
Seven Learning Outcomes Rubric and Self-reflection Report as assessment tool.
CAS Seven Learning Outcomes:
LO 1 Increase awareness of your strengths and areas for growth.

It is expected from the academic staff and non-academic staff to implement the
policy.
It is expected from the parents to advise and encourage their children to adhere to
the academic honesty policy.
It is expected from the sponsors to support the college academic policy by respecting
the decision made by the college pertaining to academic honesty and to have their
own academic honesty policy.
II Types Of Violations
The list below served as examples and not meant to be exhaustive.
1. Cheating – using dishonest means in an attempt to get credit in academic work or
assessment.
● Using unauthorized notes, study aids, answers, and technology during an
examination.
● Providing unauthorized notes, study aids, answers, technology to other students

III CONSEQUENCES OF ACADEMIC DISHONESTY
Any individual who suspects that a student has committed academic dishonesty should
bring the matter to the College Disciplinary Committee. The college Disciplinary
Committee will hold a hearing to decide on whether any act of academic dishonesty has
occurred. The consequence of committing academic dishonesty is described in length in
the Kolej MARA Banting Student Handbook. In summary the consequences could be:
1. Violation of academic honesty in any academic work related (assignment, presentation
etc.) will result in “no credit” assign to work in question. College will notify parents and
sponsor. College will file the incident in disciplinary file and student personal file.
73
2. Violation of academic honesty in Semester Exam – If a student found cheating in an
exam he/she will receive no grade for the semester exam for all subjects. College will
notify parents and sponsor. The scholarship division/sponsor has the right to impose
additional penalty to the student. College will file the incident in disciplinary file and
student personal file.
3. Violation of academic honesty in IB assessment (IB exam, TOK assessment, EE, IA) –
Students will receive no academic recognition at graduation ceremony. College will notify
parents and sponsor. The scholarship division/sponsor will decide on whether to
continue sponsoring the students.
IV IMPLEMENTATION/ACTION PLANS
The success in implementing this policy is for stakeholders to be aware and understand
about the college Academic Honesty Policy. Therefore the proposed action plans are:
1. Student Handbook
Upon registration at Kolej MARA Banting, every student will receive a copy of Student
Hand Book. One of the sections in student handbook addresses the consequences of
academic dishonesty.
2. Academic honesty policy briefing for students.
The IBC will brief students on this policy covering the definition, the type of violations, the
inquiry procedures and the consequences students may face if found guilty of conducting
academic dishonesty.
3. A written version of the policy will be given to the students. Students are required to fill
in and sign an Academic Honesty Policy Acknowledgment Form to ensure they adhere to
the policy and the form will be kept in their personal file.
Absent from briefing or not signing the acknowledgement form is not a valid reason for
the students to not comply with the college Academic Honesty Policy.
4. Parents will receive a copy of Academic Honesty Policy Acknowledgement Form through
mail.
5. Classroom Academic Honesty Discussion
74
Each subject teacher is expected to conduct a discussion with the students regarding
college academic honesty policy. Teachers are expected to discuss not only the general
academic honesty policy but to emphasize specifically issues that may arise within their
subjects.
6. Workshop on writing citation/referencing.
A workshop on academic writing – on how to write citation, making references, and other
related topics is scheduled in October.
7. All eCourseworks are required to go through a plagiarism software Turnitin before
submission in order to avoid plagiarism and ensure authenticity of students work.
8. Parents/Guardians Academic Honesty Discussion during PTA meeting/Academic
Day/Registration Day.
The Deputy Director of Academic Affairs will brief parents on college Academic Honesty
Policy.
9. Academic Honesty Policy on School Website

and parents.
10. Publishing Academic Honesty Policy on college examination notice board
