Welcome to the DOCA Festival
Fortnight 2019. Two weeks of
outdoor performance and art
in Devizes.
The DOCA team are proud to present our spectacular Festival Fortnight
bringing the very best outdoor theatre from the UK and Europe to Devizes.
We bring you – Picnic in the Park, the International Street Festival and the
Colour Rush followed by the unique Confetti Battle. Look out for our indoor
shows which fuse street theatre and circus in our unconventional venues, a
yurt on the Green and St. Mary’s Church.
To Celebrate 20 years of Street Festival we are having a birthday themed
Picnic in the Park and looking forward to our ever evolving programme,
introducing spectacular new elements to all our events.
We couldn’t transform Devizes in this way without the support of our
amazing volunteers, affectionately known as Festival Makers and our
Trustees who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make all our events
a success. We’d also like to thank you, our audiences, for your ongoing
support. Artists love coming here to entertain you, and you have an
International reputation for your warmth and generosity as a result.
We are generously funded by Arts Council England, Devizes Town Council
and Devizes Area Board along with others which helps us keep our core
programme free but of course it isn’t free to make it happen – if you want
to see these amazing events continue please pop some money in our
buckets. We look forward to welcoming you to a magical fortnight.

DOCA has joined with some of the most respectable cultural agencies in the
country to acknowledge the current climate emergency and the need to take
immediate action. We are busy behind the scenes doing as much as we can
to minimise the impact our events have on the environment over the festival
fortnight. We can all play a part in making this years festival events greener
but we need your help to reduce the impact of our events on the environment.
Here’s some things you can do before, during and after our events
• Travel on public transport where possible, car share or come on your bike
• Bring a reusable water bottle
• Ditch the plastic
• Recycle your cans and cups
• Use biodegradable Confetti & glitter
If you have any other ideas on how to make our Festival greener, please feel
free to share them with us by emailing [email protected]
