Question: Explain the purpose of Mae Tuck’s trip.
My Answer: Mae tuck is going on her trip to see her two sons
Miles and Jesse.

My Answer:In the book the month of August is described hot
gloomy and miserable.

Chapter 1 Question: Explain why no one ever goes into the woods.
My Answer: They don’t go into the woods because something
they didn’t like may have happened there.

My Answer Mae is excited because she is going to see her sons

Chapters 1-8

In chapters 1-8 of Tuck Everlasting, it describes how Winnie Foster meets the Tucks.
● Winnie lives in an overprotective house in the village of Treegap with her
parents and grandmother.Their house is on the edge of the woods they own
but never go into.
● The Tucks are getting excited to see their sons whom they have not seen in ten
years. Mae is heading off to meet them, but they say that she has to be careful
not to be seen. She does not look in the mirror before she goes because it
says she has looked the same for the past 87 years. May takes along her
music box as she goes off to meet her sons.
● Winnie has a conversation with a toad. She talks about how hard her life is and
she decides to run away.
● That night Winnie heads out to her yard and meets a stranger walking by who
asks her about the woods and the people she knows in the area. He tells her
that he is looking for a family. Winnie’s grandmother comes out to tell Winnie to
go inside. Just then some music is heard in the woods. The grandmother says
it is the elf music she hasn’t heard in years. Winnie thinks it sounds like a
music box and the stranger is very interested in it.

My Answer:The stranger might have took the horse because he
knew something was weird and not right.

My Answer:Winnie was surprised in a mixed way.

Chapter 15 Question: The stranger has the Fosters “between a rock and a hard place”. What

does this idiom mean?

My Answer:The idiom means you are in a tough situation.

Chapter 16 Question: Explain what the constable learns from the stranger.
My Answer:Maybe because #1 the constable has a shotgun #2
one wrong word and it might do something.

Chapter 17 Question: Explain what happened when Miles caught the fish.
My Answer:Winnie felt bad for the fish and they let it go.

drink the water from the spring and Mae said you cannot do
such a thing to her.

My Answer:The huge problem that the tucks have is that Mae
got arrested and that can affect Winnie and the Tucks in many
ways

My Answer:Winnie is committed to do something to help Mae

My Answer:Winnie learned that toads do not drink water they
absorb it into their skin.

My Answer:Winnie is struggling with her conscience because of
every thing going on around her.

My Answer:The author is telling us with that simile that her life
is getting unreal and well... good.

Chapter 25 Question:
My Answer:Because she told the truth about the village being
hard on her family and other reasons.

Winnie has many traits.
We know Winnie
treasures her freedom
and hates being locked
up, that already sums up
half of her personality.
The other half is ,mostly
caring, young, beautiful
and a few more.

I think it’s pretty clear that
Jesse loves Winnie and
would hate if Winnie left or
something happening to the
people that he cares about.
He definitely doesn't want
another guy like the
stranger coming along.

I think that Miles is a
really nice guy and that
his number one priority is
to either be with his
family, find his kids or
definitely both. And would
like to be free of the
everlasting curse.

Angus is a sturn secretive
man on the outside but on
the inside he cares about
lots of people, like the tucks
he would risk his life for
them or Winnie. He just
wants to change back to
being mortal.

Mae Tuck is a nice
caring women that
cares about her
family and is either
scared of losing
Winnie or for
everyone to find out
that her and all of
the Tucks are all
immortal

The stranger in the yellow
suit is very sly and
mysterious he wants the
water that cursed the Tucks
so he can get rich and
famous, he also wants to
reveal the Tucks

The Tuck family continues to stay young while

and covers the secret forever. The toad lives forever
because of the water from Winnie.
