NEWSLETTER TOGETHER FOR HUMANITY: A heartwarming photograph of Red Crescent volunteers assisting flood victims, symbolizing hope and resilience. MALAYSIAN RED CRESCENT KOTA KINABALU CITY JUNE 2024 “Your Support, Their Hope” Join Hands with the Malaysian Red Crescent Kota Kinabalu City

REMY MARTIN GUNSALAM In the first quarter of the year. Malaysian Red Crescent Society of Kota Kinabalu District focuses on its Mission “to prevent and reduce suffering wherever it may be”. The Volunteers and MRCS officers visited needy families, especially those who need extra medical attention, giving them wheelchairs, diapers, clinical beds and any ways we could including food and hygiene supply. Currently, we are in the second half of the year which brings us to emphasize on its Vision, “ to realize the Malaysian Red Crescent as a leading and distinctive humanitarian organization that brings people and institutions together for the vulnerable”. We targeted to organize three Health Camp in the interior area in Kudat, Pitas and Tongod in this half quarter of the year. MRCS always initiates the effort to bring related agencies such as health personnel and educators to provide services to those villagers that are facing difficulties to go to local clinics not to forget to involve the ‘off-roader’ to reach the villages. Chairman, Malaysian Red Crescent Kota Kinabalu City A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIRMAN MALAYSIAN RED CRESCENT KOTA KINABALU CITY JUNE 2024 PAGE 2 We rely on strong financial support from individuals and organizations for our events. Our volunteers will travel for a day, camp overnight, and return safely on the third day, requiring proper nourishment alongside the villagers. As a non-profit, MRCS depends on public donations to run our programs and support those in need. The experience our volunteers gain is invaluable. We sincerely thank you for supporting our efforts to help the underprivileged community. Once again it gives me great joy to greet you all by way of our Newsletter featuring many pictures and articles that will give you a glimpse of the vibrant activities for this second half of 2024. All of us in MRCS Kota Kinabalu have had a full share of struggles but are slowly gaining a foothold on our way to achieving our goals for this year which is fast coming to a close.
