MasTec Welcomes New President of T&S Group

In a move to take the lead in the electric transmission industry, MasTec
hired Kevin Crawford as Group President of MasTec’s
Transmission & Substation Group. He will be responsible for the
overall operations and performance throughout North America. He
brings 27 years of experience and success in the electric and power
generation industries, and was most recently President of Transmission
Partners for Kiewit Corporation. Before that, Mr. Crawford held
executive roles at Indianapolis Power & Light Company and Dayton
Power & Light. His construction experience includes overhead and
underground electric lines, gas distribution and approximately $1.4
billion in power generation projects.

MasTec Reports Record Revenues for 2016!

MasTec’s revenue for the 4th Quarter of 2016 posted a new record. Revenues for October-December
2016 were $1.34 billion, which represents a 31% increase over the same period the previous year.
Also, 2016 annual revenue came in at $5.1 billion, representing a 22% increase over the year prior.

While record revenue indicates our company is strong, the most relevant data reported was our
backlog, which represents work scheduled 18 months out and is the best indication that we’ll have
plenty of work to keep team members busy for the next year and a half. The 18-month backlog is
currently at $5.4 billion, which includes a record backlog of $2.2 billion for our Oil & Gas segment.

In the press release, CEO Jose Mas, noted: “I want to thank the men and women of MasTec for
their dedicated efforts during 2016 and look forward to a great 2017 and beyond.”

Good job everybody!

You have to have a few super-people to build the highest voltage
transmission line in America.

Approximately 170 crewmembers are working on the Greentown to Reynolds Project, and Fast Break had
the opportunity to speak to a few of those stellar guys, that are representative of the dedicated and hard-
working brawn it takes to build the highest voltage transmission line in America today:

Cole Clark (far left) is the EC Source Project Manager that is managing the Greentown-Reynolds project.
He started in the industry right out of college and has been with MasTec for 3 years. He lives in West
Lafayette, Indiana, for the duration of this project, and will move to wherever the next project takes him.

Jose Rivera, General Foreman (pictured at center of photo on the right) has been working on power lines
since he was 14 years old, and joined MasTec three years ago. He lives in Texas with his wife Maria and
has two daughters, Amanda and Angela.

Cesareo Rivera, Foreman (pictured on the right of photo on the right) is the oldest of the Rivera
Musketeers, he is Jose’s brother and joined MasTec about 3 years ago as well. He’s been working on
transmission lines most of his life, and now lives in Phoenix, AZ., with his wife.

Juan Rivera, Foreman (pictured on the left of photo on the right) is following in the footsteps of his uncles,
and started working on power lines when he was 18 years old. He has five children; the oldest is 15 and
the youngest 9 years old.

Don’t let thieves steal your passwords!

What to do: When you get phishing emails, click on the “Message” tab at top of the email, then

click the “Phish Alert” icon that’s on the far right to report it to our IT department.

Thieves have found a whole new world of opportunity on the Internet, especially in your private email
account. Our MasTec IT team actively blocks unknown emails from the mastec.com server, but who’s
watching over your private email server (such as Comcast, Yahoo, Gmail, etc.)? We need to be especially
aware of our private email accounts, so it’s important to know how thieves get in:

Mass emails: Fraud starts when you get group emails about little Joey’s soccer practice, or the
neighborhood potluck dinner, your email address eventually ends up in the wrong hands.

How to detect fraud: Below are examples of thieves trying to get sensitive information such as
passwords and social security numbers:

You have to scroll over the
