FOREWORD
This Handbook contains essential information for the students of the Ph.D. Program
in Immunology (International Program), Department of Immunology, Faculty of
Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. It is a guide for students providing the
information about what to do during their studies from the beginning until
graduation. This handbook also provides description of courses organized by the
program and information of the academic and pastoral support. The content covered
in this handbook are not only based on specific guidelines from the Ph.D. program
but also the Graduate Program Regulations announced by the Faculty of Graduate
Studies and Mahidol University.
This handbook cannot be finished without working by our support staff of the Graduate
Program in Immunology.
I hope that this “Ph.D. Program in Immunology Student Handbook” will be useful during your
studies at our programs.

Ph.D. Program in Immunology (International Program), as part of the Faculty and University,
is dedicated to maintaining an alignment with the University’s and the Faculty’s missions. The
programs contribute to education by providing outstanding education and professional training in
the field of Immunology and Biosciences, thereby promoting long-term career success and
satisfaction. The Ph.D. program in Immunology aims to train the next generation of independent
immunologist to tackle a major public health issue in which immune system contributing or
therapeutic factor. In this regard, the objectives of our program have been defined.

ORIENTATION
When students have successfully registered to the program, they are expected to attend all
orientation days organised by

Mahidol University
The orientation ceremony for graduate students organised by the Faculty of Graduate Studies,
Mahidol University is the start of your time at the University. Introductory sessions are arranged to
explore the University. Furthermore, you will receive a health check-up service. Faculty of Medicine
Siriraj Hospital also arranges an orientation at the Faculty level.
At the Immunology Program level, an introduction to the program, courses offered, and the
staff involved in your study will be presented on the orientation day. This is also a chance to meet and
socialise with your future classmate. Timetable and venue of your introductory program session will be
announced and sent to you via e-mail.

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
Since the primary aim of the Ph.D. Program is to train graduates pursuing a career as a
research scientist or academic staff in the fields of immunology and biosciences. Through completion
of the program, it is intended that graduates will develop a range of transferable and subject-specific
skills to strengthen their career. The program curriculum has been designed to cover all aspects of
developments including subject specific (coursework and a research dissertation project) and generic
skills; and aligned with requirements of stakeholders. After graduation, the Ph.D. program graduates
will be able to:
ELO1: Conduct independent research work with scientific rigour and ethical integrity.
ELO2: Identify crucial gaps in our knowledge, opportunities for new areas of research and
application of novel techniques to further understanding of immunology and biosciences.
ELO3: Design informative experiments to test new hypotheses and to analyze, and interpret this
data for publication in peer-review scientific journals.
ELO4: Master a range of professional laboratory skills and perform these at an
international biosafety standard.
ELO5: To be able to critically evaluate research manuscripts and grant applications within the
scientific peer-review process.
ELO6: To present data from their own research programmes at international-level scientific
conferences and in peer reviewed journals.
ELO7: To have acquired a sufficient depth of soft skills and self-directed learning approaches to
begin their professional career as biomedical scientists in the field of immunology and biosciences.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Ph.D. students are required to fulfil a coursework that be taken mostly during the first year.
After finishing coursework, all graduate students are required to conduct research under the
supervision of their advisors.
Ph.D. students must pass their Qualifying Examination (QE) before being an allowance to sit in
Dissertation Proposal Examination. Qualifying Examination should be taken on the first semester of
the second year.
Dissertation Proposal Examination, after passing QE, should be taken within the second year
of their studies.
It is advisable that students should sit in the dissertation defense in the Year 3, Semester 2 or
Year 4 Semester 2 for student who enrolled with a bachelor’s degree or a master degree respectively.

According to the Ph.D. Program specification, Ph.D. program in Immunology allows you to award the
degree in 3 or 4 years for those holding a Master’s or a Bachelor’s degree respectively.

Basis of Biomedicine starts in June 2019
Prior to starting lab work, students are required to take an online course for laboratory safety
called “MU-lab Pass”. The certificate of having passed MU-lab pass test should be attached to the E-
porfolio system before sitting a dissertation proposal examination. Access to the MU-lab Pass here:

After passing proposal, progress on your lab work should be submitted to the program using
GR42 Form (Report and Assessment of a Student's Progress and Research Performance).
Only Thai students, if your English proficiency score does not meet the requirement for
graduation, students should register to take the English proficiency test or attend English courses
provided by Language Centre, Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University. Students should meet
the English proficiency requirement within the first Semester of Year 1.

Each academic year, the Faculty of Graduate Studies announces the schedule for course
registration, fee payment and other for students, please refer to

Current classes offered for registration in each academic year can be found and registered
online via e-registration, (http://www.grad.mahidol.ac.th/), following the instruction provided in the
same web page.
You can contact the course director directly for the class detail before the registration.
Students are responsible to completing all prerequisites prior to enrolling in courses and ensure
that the courses are correctly registered via the system. It is also the responsibility of students to
check your student email account regularly if there is any registration of courses or changes to the
timetable.
Students with outstanding fees will be refused to register for courses.
IMPORTANT: The courses must be registered in the semester that is offered.
GRADE CRITERIA
Examination format and grade criteria are described in course syllabus that will be handed
out to students on the first day of class. Some courses are also available on the Immunology Program
website (http://www.si.mahidol.ac.th/th/department/ immunology/web/en/index.html).
Students are not allowed to take the examination in the course that they have excessive
absences. Please contact to the course director for the course attendance policy.
At the end of every semester, students’ scores will be announced through Mahidol University’s
website (http://www.student.mahidol.ac.th/Systems/Authen/StudentLogin.asp) and the grades will
be formally recorded in your academic transcripts.
Specific appeals regarding the coursework or course assessment can be made directly, by in-
person or e-mail, to the lecturers and/or course coordinators as well as to the Immunology Program
Director. Also, students can fill the appeal form that is available on the Program’s website and at the
back of this handbook to issue any concerns to the program for consideration.

PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT (SOFT SKILLS)
Professional and Personal Skills Development (Soft skills) are transferable skills that are
important to promote students future career. People who has the best technical skill to advance their
career but if they do not have soft skills, it may nearly impossible to climb up the corporate ladder.
When hard or technical skills are combined with soft skills, it is the perfect combination that gives
people ahead advantages in their personal as well as professional life. Soft skill development is the
ELO4 of Ph.D. program in Immunology and it is a requirement from Faculty of Graduate Studies,
Mahidol University to participate in the Professional and Personal Skills Development activities that are
categorised into 4 skills:
1. Communication and Language skills
2. Leadership and management skills
3. Creative and Innovation skills
4. Information technology skills
For graduation, student must spend at least 3 hours taking part in each skill and pass at least 1
activity in every required skill. A skill development activity which students undertake must cover four
skills and must not be less than 12 hours. Students can choose and register for the activities through
the website which will have a course details and schedule of activities. More information, please refer

SOFT SKILLS SELF-ASSESSMENT
In addition to Professional and Personal Skills Development organized by the Faculty of
Graduate Studies, students can attend in skill development activities organized by the Program in
Immunology or Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. However, students must
participate in at least one skill development activity held by the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
Ph.D. Program in Immunology has developed soft skills assessment form for students to do self-
evaluation every semester. Major advisors and 3 evaluators chosen by the students and their major
advisors are participated in students’ performance evaluation. The soft skill evaluation form in google
form format. The students and the major advisor will be ask to fill the form at the end of their first
year. After that, it will be done at the end of every semester for evaluation. Scores from the
evaluation is expected to guide students’ area of improvement. Award for the best soft skill
performance will be announced for encouragement. The content in the form can be found in the
section “SOFT SKILLS SELF-ASSESSMENT FORM”.

CHOOSING YOUR MAJOR ADVISOR
After accepting to the program, the successful applicants have an opportunity to meet their
potential advisors who are academic staff in the Immunology Program. “Meet your advisor” is the day
that the advisors will share and describe their research interest(s) and project(s).
Students have a chance to visit laboratories in the Immunology Program to explore lab
environment and the facility provided. This “Lab visit” event is set up to help students to choose their
major advisor. After decision making, students indicate 3 choices of their possible advisors, in order of
preference.
With the assistance of the program, the committee will match students with their major
advisor. The preferences of both students and instructors are considered.
Dissertation advisor choices are subject to final approval by the program committee and
appointed by the Program director.
Advisors would be reassigned as necessary to assure a close relationship between the areas of
interest of the student and advisor. The appeal form should be submitted for requesting.
Students should have their major advisor at the beginning in the first semester of their studies.
CONTINUATION REQUIREMENTS
Students must achieve an overall GPA at least 3.0 to continue their studies in the program.
Students who have any grade of required courses below a B will be brought to the attention
and discussed by the Program committee for possible academic probation.
Students are allowed to continue coursework if any grade of elective courses below a B but
the cumulative GPA is not less than 3. Students may take extra courses to improve the overall GPA

MONITORING SYSTEM
Major advisor is a key role in monitoring students on the progress of research project by
providing advice and mentoring, as well as feedback. Advisors have main responsibilities to help
students to understand the requirements of the degree program, ensure timelines and milestones are
met and maintain an up-to-date record for each student.
Students have responsibilities to ensure the graduation requirements will be met by seeking
further help from their advisor when needed.
It is advisable for all research students to establish a schedule of regular meetings with their
supervisors, at least once a month. Communicating in person, over e-mail or over the phone is
acceptable.
During Year 1, Semester 2 (before Immunology Seminar), major advisors should discuss about
dissertation topic, objectives and research plan with their advisee. This will be benefits for students to
start review their research subject and may also help to decide the topic for students present in the
SIIM620 Immunology Seminar course.
After dissertation subject is addressed, students may start a literature review and do some
research experiments having a preliminary data for developing a dissertation proposal. It is suggested
that students should register for dissertation and sit in the dissertation proposal examination within
Year 2, Semester 2.
After register for dissertation, at this point, a co-advisor and/or an external advisor should be
appointed by the major advisor.
Changing advisors or members of dissertation advisory committee can be requested upon
approval by the Major advisor, Program director and Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
IMPORTANT: At the end of every semester, the major advisor will assess and report
student’s performance and research progress with an agreement of advisee (GR. 42 Form) to the
Program director and to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

ETHICS
Students whose research project involves human beings must undergo training courses in the
area of Ethics in Human Research provided by the Faculty of Graduate Studies or Faculty of Medicine
Siriraj Hospital before conducting their research. The certificate of training completion must be
submitted to the Ethics Committee for Research in Humans, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital for

Similarly, students whose research involves animals for experimental purposes must take a
training course for conducting research using animal subjects provided by the Siriraj Laboratory Animal
Research and Care Centre, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital. The certificate of completion must be
submitted to the Siriraj Animal Care and Use Committee, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital for

Any documents certifying for experiments involving human beings or animals for experimental
purposes must be attached in the complete dissertation's appendix.
After passing the dissertation defense, the students must officially notify the termination of the
project to the committee.

QUALIFYING EXAMINATION (QE)
Ph.D. students must pass the qualifying examination first to confirm a place as a Ph.D.
candidate.
Ph.D. students should have their qualifying examination in the next coming semester.
Although finishing of coursework is not required for taking QE, all coursework
should be completed no later than semesters 2 of the second year.
Requirements
GPA > 3.00
English language proficiency: 2020 requirement
On-line submission of GR.35 Form at least 15 days before the examination day
Submit a non-dissertation proposal to the Qualifying Examination Committee within 15 working
days before the examination date.
Examiners
The Qualifying Examination committee, at least 4 members, will be appointed by the
Program director and are nominated by the Major advisor (GR. 35 Form).
The Qualifying Examination Committee must include at least one invited external examiner
who is not a member either of the program committee or of the dissertation advisory committee.
Assessment format
A non-dissertation proposal is submitted to all members in the committee. Students are
allowed to give presentation for 45-50 minutes, followed by oral examination. Both written and oral
components are marked by the QE committee using the rubrics assessment format.
Students are recommended to study the Qualifying Examination grading criteria in advance for
preparing yourself for evaluation (Please refer to the section “QE AND DISSERTATION EVALUATION
RUBRICS”).

Students must retake all the examination processes within 6 months.
Students who fail the re-examination will be issued to the Program committee. The students
may be asked to leave the Program or downgrade to the Master’s Program.

After passing the Qualifying Examination, students are allowed to take the dissertation
proposal examination to ensure the student's research proposal is sufficient for graduation. According
to the Ph.D. Program Specification, students should register for dissertation and sit in the dissertation
proposal examination in Year 2, Semester 2.
Passing the examinations is assessed using the rubrics assessment format. You can find the
information in the “QE AND DISSERTATION EVALUATION RUBRICS” section. It is advisable to read this in
advance for preparing yourself for evaluation.

Approval for registration of dissertation credits from their major advisor is required.
Students submit the name of their major advisor and dissertation proposal title to the Program
direct (GR. 44 Form) that is then submitted to the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University.
Ph. D. candidates should perform this examination within the Year 2, not later than
Semester 2.
Timelines are important in evaluating the feasibility of the student’s dissertation project. A
timeline for research plan and expected outputs should be included in the proposal.

director (GR. 1 Form).

The major advisor will assess and report student’s performance and research progress with an
agreement of advisee to the Program director (GR. 42 Form) and to the Faculty of Graduate Studies at
the end of every semester. Students must fill a progress report (GR.42 Form) together with their major
advisor and the dissertation advisory committee that is then submitted to the Program director and to
the Faculty of Graduate Studies. The outcome from the report can be “P”, “S”, and “U” that stand
for In progress, Satisfied, and Unsatisfied, respectively. Students who have “P” for 4 consecutive
semesters will be brought to the attention and discussed by the committee for an action plan. The
minutes must be submitted to the Program that will be forwarded to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

DISSERTATION DEFENSE
Students are allowed to defend their dissertation after spending time for conducting research
more than 90 days.
Approval from the major advisor for the dissertation defense is needed.
Dissertation title is approved and the dissertation defense committee is appointed by the
Program director (GR. 2 Form).
Students are required to submit their dissertation to the committee at least 15 days before the
day of dissertation defense. Information about dissertation preparation and submission, please refer to

Requirements
Pass every required and elective coursework

Pass Dissertation proposal examination
Submit the first few pages of dissertation (from cover to abstract) to the staff of Academic
Services Section at Faculty of Graduate Studies, Salaya Campus for a brief check on the
dissertation format
Submit the complete dissertation to the dissertation defense committee, at least 15 working
days before the examination date.
Submit GR. 2 Form to the Faculty of Graduates Studies, at least 15 working days before the
examination date.
For graduation: At least 1 publication as the first author published or accepted for publication
in the International peer-reviewed journal.
Eligibility to defend
For students who do not have published article on the day of dissertation defend, at least 1
manuscript as the first author in the International peer-reviewed journal that is ready for
submission should be presented to the committee.
For candidates who received scholarship from the Royal Golden Jubilee (RGJ)-Ph.D. Program
Eligibility to defend and graduation. According to the RGJ-Ph.D. scholarship requirement,
students must produce at least 2 publications with the following details.
1) One publication published or accepted for publication as the first author in the International
peer-reviewed journal in the web of science collection with an impact factor in quartile 1 or 2.
Otherwise, obtaining a patent that is approved by the RGJ committee.
and
2) One publication or short communication published or accepted for publication as the first
author (if possible) in the International journal in ASEAN Citation Index (ACI) or group 1 of Thai-
Journal Citation Index (TCI).
Examiners
Dissertation Defense Committee, at least 4 members, are nominated by the major advisor and
appointed by Program director (GR.2 Form). The committee must include;
1. Chair of the dissertation defense committee who must not be either the major advisor
or co-advisor.
2. Major advisor
3. Co-advisors
4. External examiner
After dissertation is summited to the committee, the Ph.D. Dissertation will be assessed by all
members of the Defense Committee.
Assessment format
The Dissertation defense is a public defense which consists of an oral presentation of the
dissertation (50 minutes), followed by questioning by the audience. After public questions, the
audience will be asked to leave the room while the committee asks the candidate some questions.
Candidates will be asked to leave the room so that committee members may consult and
discuss privately about the student’s performance on the written dissertation and oral examination
using rubric assessment. The evaluation rubrics can be found at the back of this handbook.
The chair of the committee is responsible for finalizing the result.

A FAILED grade will be assigned if the revised Dissertation is not made within 90 days from the
examination day.
- Not Pass
Students must retake the oral presentation within a timeframe determined by Dissertation
Defense Examination Committee and pay for the retake defense examination fee. If the condition
cannot be met, FAILED grade will be assigned.
The result of dissertation defense is reported to the Program director (GR. 3 Form). If students
pass with conditions or not pass, the revision result is approved by the Chair of dissertation defense
committee, major advisor and Program director (GR.4 Form).
The entitled page and approval page are then signed by the dissertation advisory committee
and the dissertation defense examination committee after passing the defense exam.
IMPORTANT: If the article which is a part of your thesis has not been published yet within one year
after you pass your thesis defense, you must report to the Program stating the reason (s) of delay.
An officially notification of the delayed will be signed off by your major advisor and the Program
director to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
FINAL DISSERTATION SUBMISSION
After passing the defense exam, student should bring the original copy of the complete
dissertation both hard copy and an electronic file to the staff of Academic Services Section at Faculty
of Graduate Studies for checking the dissertation format (The service takes at least two working days).
Moreover, abstract of the dissertation must be checked for the English Grammar. Students
should contact the Language Center Staff on the 2nd floor of Graduate Studies Building, Salaya Campus.
Abstract should be in a double space format.
After correcting, students should submit the final version of the abstract together with
Entitled Page and Approval Page signed by the Program director and dean of Faculty of Medicine
Siriraj Hospital to the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies who is the last person to sign off.
The final dissertation (one original and one copy) plus a word file and PDF file on a CD to the Faculty of
Graduate Studies within 21 days (including holidays) of the defense date. A fee for late submission is
charged.
IMPORTANT: The "delayed submission" cannot be later than 90 days (including holidays) after the
defense date. Otherwise, the Faculty of Graduate Studies can cancel the thesis defense result and
the student must register and re-start the entire thesis processes i.e. starting from thesis proposal
examination.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
All requirements for graduation follow the regulations of the Faculty of Graduate Studies,
Mahidol University as shown below.
Ph.D. Program in Immunology
1. Student must complete the program within a maximum time frame.
2. Plan 2 Ph.D. students must complete coursework with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00.
3. Student must pass the English Proficiency Examination:
an IELTS score with a minimum of 5 or
a TOEFL-IBT score with a minimum of 61 or
a TOEFL-ITP score with a minimum of 500 or
4. Students must pass the Professional and Personal Skills Development (Soft skills) at least 1 activity
in every (4) required skills.
5. Students must pass qualifying examination.
6. Students must complete their dissertation research and pass the oral dissertation proposal exam
and public dissertation defense in a public examination.
7. Submit the complete dissertation together with abstract and CD to the Faculty of Graduate
Studies.
8. At least 1 publication* published or accepted for publication in an international peer-
reviewed journal as first author.
9. Study program affiliations of the student must be indicated in the students’ publication as
Graduate program in Immunology, Department of Immunology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj
Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand.
*Students receiving scholarship are responsible to ensure that output(s) required by their sponsor has
been achieved to fulfil requirement before graduation.

For graduation, the Program director submits the request for student's graduation to Faculty of
Graduate Studies (GR. 5 Form) before authorization of degree by the Mahidol University Council.
A certificate of graduation, an official transcript, detailing examinations taken and results
achieved are issued automatically to the graduating students and post to their contact addresses.
IMPORTANT: To request the degree, the student must complete the GR. 5 Form that can be
downloaded from this link: http://www.grad.mahidol.ac.th/en/current-students/application-form-
thesis.php, attached with the published article which is the part of the thesis. Then, student
should bring the original copy of the document and one copy to our admin staff of the Programs in
Immunology (Ms. Benjawan) to forward the document to the Program director to sign off. The
document will be then submitted to the Faculty of Graduate studies.
If you submit the document to the Faculty of Graduate Studies directly by yourself, you
must provide a copy of them to Ms. Benjawan.

For example, you would win the Distinguished Dissertation Award Distinguished Dissertation
Award, 50,000 THB and a certificate for a Doctoral level or 30,000 THB and a certificate for a Master's
degree level. The Outstanding Dissertation Award is also granted, 25,000 THB and a certificate for a
Doctoral level or 15,000 THB and a certificate for a Master's degree level.
Recording as “Dean’s list” on your transcript and Trophy would be made for students who have
attained at least a cumulative GPA of 3.9.

VACATIONS AND LEAVES
Graduate study is a full-time commitment on the part of students. During an academic year,
students make take a vacation during a term break if it is not conflict with the student’s coursework or
research. However, the leaves should apprise their major advisor of their intentions at least two
weeks before the planned absence.
If a student receives financial support for graduate study, payroll changes may be necessary.
Unscheduled absences or excessive vacation, holiday or leave time would be considered 'poor
performance' and issued to the Program committee. Immunology program reserves the right to
terminate the students' status if their qualifications are not satisfied.
Travelling to do research at university or institute outside Thailand is advisable to inform to
the program. The university or institute may ask for a letter or an evidence of students’ status from
the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Please contact the program for more information.

INTERRUPTIONS OF STUDY
According to the Mahidol University’s regulation of Request to temporary suspension of studies,
Students can request to temporarily suspend studies per the following conditions: student
has studied and completed at least 1 semester and must have maintained a GPA of not less
than 2.00. Students must submit the AS-3-09 form
(http://www.grad.mahidol.ac.th/grad/academicinfo/forms/ AS-3-09_EN.pdf) requesting a
temporary suspension of studies/retire from the status of student, accompanied with the
justification for student’s request and necessary document (if any) to the Dean of the
Faculty of Graduate Studies via approval of the Program director at least two weeks prior
to the registration period.
Once students have received approval from the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies to
temporarily suspend studies, students must register by specifying “Voluntarily Suspend”
and pay the maintaining student status fee 4,000 baht and the education services fee.
Students that receive a notification of approval to temporarily suspend studies must
receive Permission from the Program director and the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate
Studies to re-enroll at least one week before the registration period.
The Program director can be authorised to approve the temporary suspension of studies if
there is a good reason. Students must provide evidence to support their request. A temporary
suspension of studies is applicable where a student is unable to work on his or her studies for a
significant period of time. Some circumstances can include medical and health problems (Medical
certificates will be required), personal and family problems.
Any one period of authorised temporary suspension of studies will be allowed authorised by the
Program at a maximum period for 2 consecutive semesters. In some circumstance, one more semester
may be requested. The temporary suspension of studies is not applied retrospectively.
Students in receipt of a scholarship should note that a temporary suspension of studies may have
implications in relation to receipt of funding.

EXTENSIONS OF STUDY
When students spend a maximum years of studying in the program, students need to fill the AS
– 3 – 15 Extension request form (please refer to http://www.grad.mahidol.ac.th/grad/academicinfo/
forms/AS-3-15_EN.pdf) and attach a report to explain the reasons for making this request. The chair of
the Dissertation Advisory Committee and the Program director are needed to sign off this form before
submission to the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University for consideration.
ACCOMMODATION
Upon acceptance, staff within our Immunology Program Office and the present students in the
Program will be able to advise new students of their nearest accommodation. Information about
finding a place to live is also provided to students on the orientation day.

Health insurance is mandatory for all students. The cost is already included in the tuition fee.
Students can choose to be insured for a private hospital. Furthermore, students can use service at

There are sports facilities provided in the faculty area. To use of these facilities, recent
medical certificate is required.
Siriraj Fitness Center is a service center that is located on the 11th Floor of the Siriraj
Gymnesium Building. The center offers a student membership or pay as you go entry to non-members.
Advising with facilities and events are provided by the professional fitness trainer’s team in the center.
Furthermore, indoor badminton and basketball courts are also provided in the same building on the
12th and 13th floor.
In addition to the health insurance plan that all students need to comply with university,
students in our program can access Student Health Care Facility of the faculty of Medicine Siriraj
Hospital which is located in the OPD Building, 3rd Floor (Room no. 343), Faculty of Medicine Siriraj
Hospital. Students can walk-in by showing Siriraj Student ID Card and Passport (For Foreigner) every
time to visit the OPD from 8.00 – 16.00 on weekdays. Emergency and Trauma Care for student is also

For mental health, students can contact directly to Miss Wachiraya Lerdkrai, the therapist at

LIBRARY
There are 16 Faculty libraries provided by Mahidol University under Mahidol University Library
and Information Center (MULIC) and located at Bangkok Noi, Phayathai and Salaya campuses. The
library catalog can be retrieved through the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) via MULIC's web page
at its URL of http://www.li.mahidol.ac.th. Central Library is located at the Salaya Campus.
Students of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital can access books in the Siriraj Medical
Library (SiML), which opens every day between 08.30 - 20.00, through the student ID card (activate at
the library). SiML offers Library Information Services which have a digital library system (e-journal and
e-text book) to use searching via intranet, internet and Virtual Private Network (VPN). Other services,
for example, copy, print and scan, searching ISBN, audio visual services, student study area, and
meeting rooms also are offered. Librarian counsels the new students to use the various facilities

Your internet account will be created after your registration and fee payment are completed.
