RECREATION SUBSIDY PROGRAM
The City of Baldwin Park offers financial assistance for recreational program registration fees. Each child approved for the Recreation Subsidy Program will receive a maximum grant of $125 per fiscal year or until all funds have been exhausted. Subsidies can be applied to offset 70% of registration fees for youth programs offered by local associations or for City sponsored youth programs. The subsidy program is funded through the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.

Water Conscious Splash Pads
in Rising Temperatures
While many communities are forced to shut down the use of splash pads due to the severe water drought experienced throughout the state, the City of Baldwin Park is proud in continuing to offer opportunities for families to enjoy free water play while being environmentally conscious. The Recreation and Community Services Department offers two (2) water conservation splash pads located at Morgan Park and Barnes Park. The spray pads utilize a recyclable water system that saves up to 25,000 gallons of water on a daily basis. The City of Baldwin Park continues to support water conservation efforts by saving over 2 million gallons throughout the summer season.

SUMMER CAMP 2019
The City of Baldwin Park will be hosting the 24th Season Summer Day Camp Program that offers a variety of activities that your child(ren) will be sure to enjoy. This is a fun & safe environment for the children of our community. There are a variety of activities that are offered from outdoor games, sports, arts and crafts, and themed day events. The children will participate in the Annual Talent Show where parents, family members, and friends can come cheer on the campers as they perform. The campers will have the opportunity to utilize all of the resources that the Esther Synder Community Center has to offer. Children will be able to enjoy their summer and cool down in the Aquatic Center where they will participate in recreational swim time exclusively offered for campers only. The City of Baldwin Park offers the Healthy- Full Summer Lunch Program at Morgan Park which the campers will take advantage of throughout the summer. The campers will also have a chance to attend optional trips that are exclusive to the children enrolled in the program, were they will explore different theme parks and fun adventurous excursions. In addition, the City of Baldwin Park will be hosting Leaders In Training (L.I.T.) Camp which is part of the Summer Day Camp Program specifically designed for 6th through 8th graders. The Leaders In Training Camp will be designed to keep the youth active, promote health & wellness, incorporate educational & physical activities, all while taking advantage of the amenities offered at the Baldwin Park Teen Center.

The program is offered at Tracy, Vineland, Kenmore, Walnut, Geddes and Foster Elementary Schools in the Baldwin Park Unified School District. The BASiC Program is designed to provide safe, flexible, and convenient after school care while parents are at work. Each day a variety of activities are planned in order to provide opportunities to build self- confidence, leadership skills, and social skills all while making new friends.

Learn to make beautiful music mariachi style. The weight training and amateur boxing programs are year-round athletic programs. SUMMER BASKETBALL CAMP
Join the summer specialty Basketball Camp designed for athletes who want to master the basic fundamentals of basketball. This show highlights work that has been made by first generation Salvadorian- American artists that were born and raised in Los Angeles.
These two artists are coming together to show different styles of art from capturing the story of a loved one’s immigration journey through portraiture to artwork about the erasure of history in Los Angeles through urban landscapes.
They will also be displaying their collaborative work under their group name, “Dos Cipotes.” Their collaborative work focuses on their personal experiences as children of immigrants fleeing the Salvadorian Civil War and what it was like growing up in 1990’s America.
In Salvadorian slang, a “cipote’ is a common term given to children and adolescents. Elmer Guevara and Josh Vasquez are “Dos Cipotes” documenting and expressing their life experiences through art.
Christmas. Jack Skellington is the beloved pumpkin king of Halloweentown. Jack has grown tired of with the same annual routine of Halloween. One day Jack accidentally comes across a magical Christmastown, he’s instantly filled with excitement and warm spirits. He plots to bring Christmas under his control by kidnapping Santa Claus and taking over the role. But Jack soon discovers even the best-laid plans can go seriously awry. Our current exhibition The RIDDLE Effect presents a survey of artist John Riddle’s (1933– 2002) sculptural work and examines his influence as a foundational member of the Black Arts Movement in Los Angeles. LITTLE SPLASHERS
AGES 4 TO 6
This class provides orientation to the water with the aid of an instructor. Students will learn basic skills including breath holding, floating, kicking, and basic front crawl.
LEVEL 1 (INTRODUCTION TO WATER SKILLS)
AGES 6 TO 17
The objective of Level 1 is for students to feel comfortable in the water and enjoy the water safely. Children will also learn elementary aquatic skills including floating, kicking, front crawl, and back crawl. Mastery of these skills will advance the participant to Level 2.
LEVEL 2 (FUNDAMENTAL AQUATIC SKILLS)
AGES 6 TO 17
Prerequisite: Completion of level 1 or pre-test. The objective of Level 2 is to strengthen the participant’s fundamental skills and learn elementary backstroke. Mastery of these skills will advance the participant to Level 3.
LEVEL 3 (STROKE DEVELOPMENT)
AGES 6 TO 17
Prerequisite: Completion of level 2 or pre-test. The objective of Level 3 is to reinforce and practice fundamental skills, swim in deep water, and learn breaststroke. Mastery of these skills will advance the participant to Level 4.
LEVEL 4 (STROKE IMPROVEMENT)
AGES 6 TO 17
Prerequisite: Completion of Level 3 or pre-test. The objective of Level 4 is to develop confidence. Participants will swim laps using front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, and breaststroke. Participants are introduced to butterfly. Mastery of these skills will advance the participant to Level 5.
LEVEL 5 (STROKE REFINEMENT)
AGES 6 TO 17
Prerequisite: Completion of Level 4 or pre-test. The objective of Level 5 is coordination and refinement of front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and sidestroke.

The swim team is made up of swimmers between the ages 5-17 and compete throughout Los Angeles County. The City of Baldwin Park’s Aquatic Division and Mt. San Antonio College School of Continuing Education will be partnering to offer a new and tuition free evening health class that will keep you moving this summer. Healthy aging, including diet, nutrition, disease prevention, and application of aquatic resistance principles to maintain health while aging. The 6-week class will be taught by Mt. SKATE PARK RULES
Skateboarding and skating are hazardous activities, skate at your own risk. The Skate Park facility is unsupervised. Helmets, knee and elbow pads are required. Failure to wear protective gear will subject persons to a citation. (BPMC 96.25) An adult must accompany children under 14 years of age. No unauthorized pieces of equipment or obstacles allowed in the Skate Park. No smoking, alcohol or drug use allowed. No glass containers of any kind allowed. The mission of the Teri G. Muse Family Service Center is to provide a central facility for non-profit agencies offering social, health, and human services to Baldwin Park residents. Below is a list of the programs and events currently offered at the Teri G. Muse Family Service Center.
TOY LOAN PROGRAM WITH A HEART
The Toy Loan Program with a Heart is a FREE service which allows children to borrow toys from a Toy Loan Center in the same manner in which they borrow books from the public library. The Toy Loan Program also helps develop a sense of responsibility in children through the observance of an honor code and merit system that gives praise and recognition when toys are returned on time and undamaged.

The Teri G. Muse Family Service Center has partnered with Kaiser Permanente for a reading program. The program is open to children in 1st and 2nd grade. CALFRESH PROGRAM
The CalFresh Program assists low income individuals, families and households to purchase nutritional food. You do not have to be on welfare to get CalFresh benefits. FREE WOMEN’S SUPPORT GROUP FOR VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
The Teri G. Muse Family Service Center and the YMCA of San Gabriel Valley will be offering a FREE program for victims of domestic violence. All of our services are confidential. The group counseling sessions would cover the cycle of violence, various types of abuse, effects of violence on the children, how abuse affects parenting, depression, anxiety, guilt, safety planning, self-esteem, and why victims stay.

EMPOWERING FAMILIES EDUCATIONAL
SERVICES, INC.
Empowering Families Educational Services, Inc. provides developmental screenings to children from 0-3 years old and referral to local agencies, including the San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center, an agency that provides services to children with disabilities or developmental delays. Additionally, we provide resources to families in the area of San Gabriel Valley related to early-childhood educational services, mental health services and parent education. If your child is a regional center client we offer in-home early childhood education through play and parent education, occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech and language consultations. Additionally, we also provide mental health consultations and infant massage therapy.

The Teri G. Muse Family Service Center accepts donations of good used clothing that is in wearable condition. Clients can access the used clothing bin on days and times listed below. Clients are allowed to take as much clothing they need, providing they can use it. Ages Day Time Cost

If you need any assistance receiving medical care, the Teri G. Muse Family Service Center has extensive referral resources available including phone numbers and addresses to local medical clinics, 24-hour urgent care facilities, and County Health Clinics. PARENT WORKSHOPS
Are you a foster parent or caregiver who needs hours? The Teri G. Muse Family Service Center will be hosting several Citrus College Kinship/Foster Parenting Workshops. The program consists of a free workshop series to strengthen children and families in the community. Participants who attend the program receive certificates for foster parent certification. Living Clean Not Dirty offers a path, a process, and a way of life. The work and rewards of recovery are never-ending. The Living Clean Not Dirty non-profit support group will assist to continue to grow and learn no matter where we are on the journey, and more is revealed to the induvial going forward. Barnes Park Splash Pad offers cool, wet fun for families. Splash pad hours are seasonal with daily operation during the summer months from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. and subject to change based on weather conditions. This free amenity offers wa- ter play options controlled by motion sensors. The filtered-water, zero-depth Splash Pad includes a fountain spray, jet stream, magic mist and overhead buckets of water. SOCIAL CLUBS
The Julia McNeill Senior Center, is a place where one can interact and experience various cultural backgrounds. Through our various clubs that meet and interact throughout the week, there is never a moment of boredom. Come and join any of these groups, to learn about the various forms of entertainment from different cultures like mahjong and lotería.
MAHJONG
Mahjong is a Chinese game of skill, strategy, and calculation. The game is always played by four players. The main objective is to build sets with the tiles through drawing and discarding them. Look out for future tournaments.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Throughout the year the Julia McNeill Senior Center has many events through which the community becomes culturally enriched. Our goal is to keep our community active, and to achieve that, our events are filled with fun activities, dancing, contest, and door prizes. Lotería is a game of chance just like Bingo, but instead of using numbers and letters it uses images. The image gets called out and if the image is on your card you go ahead and put a bean on it, and no there is no mistake we actually mean a bean. Various games are played, whether it is to do a line across, full card, and so on. So if you love bingo, why not come on down and try lotería out.

No matter the time it is always better for someone to go out and socialize and interact with someone else. The senior center is always open at an early hour of the morning, so come and socialize. 2. Tarjeta de Membrecía: Debe presentar su tarjeta en todo momento al hacer una inscripción y/ o pagos. Inscripción y/ o pagos no se tomaran sin la tarjeta de membrecía.
3. Reemplazo de Tarjeta: Se le cobrara $5 para reemplazar la tarjeta.
4. Recibos Adicionales: Se le cobrara $2 por recibos adicionales.

PROGRAMA DE SUBSIDIO RECREACIONAL
La Ciudad de Baldwin Park ofrece ayuda financiera para cuotas de programas de recreación. Cada niño que sea aprobado para el programa de Subsidio de Recreación recibirá una ayuda máxima de $125 por año fiscal o hasta que todos los fondos hayan sido agotados. Subsidios pueden ser aplicados para compensar 70% de inscripción para programas de asociaciones locales o programas patrocinados por la Ciudad. Los programas de subsidio son financiados por el Desarrollo de la Comunidad (CDBG, siglas en inglés).

Fuentes de Agua Automatizadas en Temperaturas Aumentadas
Mientras muchas comunidades se ven forzadas a cerrar el uso de las fuentes de agua debido a la severa sequía de agua en todo el estado, la Ciudad de Baldwin Park se enorgullece de continuar ofreciendo oportunidades para que las familias disfruten de forma gratuita jugar con el agua mientras estemos consciente del medio ambiente. El Departamento de Recreación y Servicios Comunitarios ofrece dos (2) fuentes de agua automatizadas para la conservación del agua ubicadas en el Parque Morgan y Parque Barnes. Las fuentes utilizan un sistema de agua reciclable que ahorra hasta 25,000 galones de agua diariamente. La Ciudad de Baldwin Park continúa apoyando los esfuerzos de conservación del agua al ahorrar más de 2 millones de galones durante la temporada de verano.

CAMPAMENTO DE VERANO 2019
La Ciudad de Baldwin Park acogerá el 24o Campamento de Verano que ofrece una variedad de actividades que su(s) hijo(s) estará seguro de disfrutar. Este es un divertido y seguro ambiente para los niños de nuestra comunidad. Hay una gran variedad de actividades que se ofrecen desde juegos al aire libre, deportes, artesanías y manualidades, temas semanales, y un show de talentos. Los niños tendrán la oportunidad de utilizar todos los recursos que el Centro Comunitario Esther Synder tiene para ofrecer. Los niños tendrán la oportunidad de disfrutar del verano y refrescarse en nuestro centro acuático, donde participarán en actividades recreativas como nadar exclusivamente para nuestros campistas solamente. Los campistas también tendrán una oportunidad de salir de la comunidad y explorar diferentes parques de atracción y divertidos viajes de aventura. Además, la Ciudad de Baldwin Park organizará el campamento Líderes en Entrenamiento, que forma parte del Programa de Campamento del verano diseñado específicamente para alumnos de 6o a 8o grado. El campamento se diseñará para mantener a los jóvenes activos, promover la salud y el bienestar, incorporar actividades educativas y físicas, al mismo tiempo que se aprovechan de los servicios ofrecidos en el Centro de Adolescentes de Baldwin Park.

En esta clase se hace énfasis en el control de la pelota, coordinación manual y visual, técnicas para golpear la pelota y familiaridad con la cancha. CAMPAMENTO DE BALONCESTO
Únase a un campamento de baloncesto de verano diseñado para atletas que quieren dominar los fundamentos básicos del baloncesto. Este espectáculo destaca el trabajo realizado por artistas salvadoreños estadounidenses de primera generación que nacieron y se criaron en Los Ángeles. Estos dos artistas se unen para mostrar diferentes estilos de arte desde la captura de la historia del viaje de inmigración de un ser querido a través del retrato hasta la obra de arte sobre el borrado de la historia en Los Ángeles a través de paisajes urbanos. También mostrarán su trabajo colaborativo bajo el nombre de su grupo, “Dos Cipotes”. Su trabajo de colaboración se centra en sus experiencias personales como hijos de inmigrantes que huyen de la Guerra Civil Salvadoreña y cómo fue crecer en los Estados Unidos en los años 90. En la jerga salvadoreña, un “cipote” es un término común que se da a los niños y adolescentes. Elmer Guevara y Josh Vasquez son “Dos Cipotes” que documentan y expresan sus experiencias de vida a través del arte.

Esta clase provee la orientación en el agua con la ayuda de un instructor. Los estudiantes aprenderán habilidades básicas incluyendo a contener la respiración bajo el agua, como flotar, patear, y rastreo frontal básico.
NIVELES 1 (INTRODUCCIÓN A HABILIDADES DEL AGUA)
EDADES 6 A 17 AÑOS
El objetivo del nivel 1 es ayudar a que los estudiantes se sientan cómodos en el agua y disfruten en el agua de una manera segura. Los niños también aprenderán las destrezas acuáticas básicas, como flotar, patear, desplazamiento lento hacia delante y hacia atrás. El dominio de estas habilidades hará que el participante pase al nivel 2.
NIVEL 2 (HABILIDADES FUNDAMENTALES ACUÁTICAS)

Requisito Previo: Haber completado el nivel 1, o el examen previo. El objetivo del nivel 2 es reafirmar las habilidades fundamentales del participante y aprender las brazadas elementales. El dominio de estas habilidades hará que el participante pase al nivel 3.

Requisito Previo: Haber completado el nivel 2, o el examen previo. El objetivo del nivel 3 es reafirmar y practicar habilidades fundamentales de natación en agua profunda y aprender brazadas. El dominio de estas habilidades hará que el participante pase al nivel 4.

Requisito Previo: Haber completado el nivel 3, o el examen previo. El objetivo del nivel 4 es desarrollar confianza en las brazadas aprendidas hasta ese nivel, como también brazadas de espalda y de pecho. También, habrá una introducción al estilo mariposa. El dominio de estas habilidades hará que el participante avance hacia el nivel 5.
NIVEL 5 (REFINAMIENTO DE BRAZADAS)

Requisito Previo: Haber terminado el nivel 4 o el pre examen. El objetivo de nivel 5 es coordinación y el refinamiento de desplazamientos hacia delante y hacia atrás, brazadas básicas de espalda y de pecho, estilo de mariposa y de dorso.

• Todas las personas que utilizan la piscina debe tomar una ducha antes de entrar en la piscina.
• Cualquier persona que tenga cualquier tipo de herida abierta, lesión o costra no serán permitidos en la piscina.

Diseñado para niños de niveles de natación similares para recibir más instrucción en un grupo pequeño. 4 nadadores son necesarios para cada uno de los grupos. PRINCIPIOS DE RESISTENCIA ACUÁTICA
La División Acuática de la Ciudad de Baldwin Park y la Escuela de Educación Continua del Colegio San Antonio se asociará para ofrecer una nueva clase de salud por la noche sin costo de matrícula que lo mantendrá en movimiento este verano. Envejecimiento Saludable, incluye dieta, nutrición, prevención de enfermedades y aplicación de los principios de resistencia acuática para mantener la salud durante el envejecimiento. La clase de 6 semanas será instruida por la facultad de Mt. San Antonio College. CAMPAMENTO DE LIDERES EN ENTRENAMIENTO
La Ciudad de Baldwin Park organizará el campamento Lideres en Entrenamiento, que forma parte del programa de campamento del verano, diseñado específicamente para alumnos de 6o a 8o grado. El campamento se diseñará para mantener a los jóvenes activos, promover la salud y el bienestar, incorporar actividades educativas y físicas, al mismo tiempo que se aprovechan de los servicios ofrecidos en el Centro de Adolescentes de Balwin Park. REGLAS DEL PARQUE DE PATINAJE
El patinaje es una actividad peligrosa y bajo su propio riesgo. Las instalaciones del Parque de Patinaje no tienen supervisión. Se requiere el uso de cascos, protector de rodillas y codos. Al no usar el equipo adecuado de protección usted está sujeto a una citación (BPMC 96.25). Un adulto debe acompañar a los niños menores de 14 años de edad. Ninguna pieza de equipo u obstáculos están autorizados para ser usados en el Parque de Patinaje. No se permite fumar, ni el uso de alcohol o drogas. No es permitido ningún tipo de envases de vidrio. Tampoco, se permiten espectadores dentro del Parque de Patinaje. Se prohíbe patinar en los bordillos y aceras del Parque de Patinaje. No se permiten malas palabras, música a todo volumen ni comportamiento imprudente.

El Centro de Servicios Familiares y la organización YMCA del Valle San Gabriel ofrecen un programa GRATUITO para las víctimas de violencia doméstica. Todos nuestros servicios son confidenciales. Las sesiones de consejería en grupo cubren el ciclo de violencia y los diversos tipos de abuso, los efectos de la violencia en los niños, cómo el abuso afecta en la crianza de los hijos, la depresión, la ansiedad, culpa, planificación de seguridad, autoestima y por qué las víctimas se quedan.

El Programa de CalFresh ayuda a personas de bajos ingresos, familias para comprar alimentos nutricionales. Usted no tiene que estar en un programa de ayuda del gobierno (Welfare en inglés) para recibir beneficios del programa CalFresh. Hay requisitos de elegibilidad para recibir beneficios de CalFresh y la cantidad de beneficios es determinada por el número de miembros en su familia y la necesidad financiera. Las personas que lleguen directamente al Centro son bienvenidas.

Si usted necesita alguna ayuda para recibir cuidado médico, el Centro de Servicios Familiares Teri G. Muse tiene disponible las referencias de extensos recursos, inclusive números de teléfono y direcciones de clínicas médicas locales, instalaciones de cuidado urgente durante las 24 horas y clínicas de salud del Condado. Nosotros también proporcionamos información con respecto a la ayuda dental para niños, el cuidado de la visión y la salud de la mujer.
El Centro de Servicios Familiares Teri G. Muse, ofrece ayuda de transporte para las personas que necesitan ayuda en el manejo de casos, emergencias no médicas, banco y tienda de alimentos, búsqueda de trabajo, servicio médico y refugios. MAHJONG
Mahjong es un juego chino de destreza, estrategia y cálculo. El juego es jugado por cuatro jugadores. El principal objetivo es crear juegos con los azulejos con dibujos y eliminándolos.

DESFILE DE MODAS ANUAL
El Desfile de Modas Anual es uno de los más grandes eventos que tiene el centro. Venga a ver nuestra comunidad de modelos de Adultos Activos en hermosos vestidos y trajes, que son proporcionados y donados por varias agencias. Este evento es el gran comienzo de lo que se considera nuestra temporada de gala, y el tema para la gala se revelará ese mismo día. Puede esperar algo maravilloso, ya que vamos a inaugurar la celebración durante los 26 años en que nuestro Galardonado Gala ha estado en marcha. Así que ven y únete a nosotros, para iniciar la gran celebración. Los boletos de gala estarán disponibles para la compra.

Lotería es un juego de azar como el Bingo, pero en lugar de usar números y letras usa imágenes. La imagen es invocada y si la imagen está en su tarjeta, continúe y coloque un frijol sobre ella, y no, no hay ningún error en realidad nos referimos a un frijol.
